Since we are on the topic of the importance of 3.5mm headphone jack, there's a rumor saying that Samsung may follow Apple's footstep in next year.
http://www.sammobile.com/2016/09/14/rumor-...oprietary-port/ Honestly, I won't be surprised if they do follow since the mobile trends is "You copy me, I copy you" kind of thing.... This post has been edited by Max2006: Sep 17 2016, 04:42 PM |

Guys, still remember that Samsung claimed that Note 7 China version is totally safe since they are using different battery factory? Well, it seems that China users could not escape from the fiasco as well.
Today latest news from China, still is mandarin article at this moment (I will try to post the english news once it's out). According to the owner, it was happening during he was browsing the phone. http://item.btime.com/36blblj753890j8rfb248a1j3ke Pics and proof of receipt attached. From the pic itself, we can see that the battery was swelling up. Multiple of assumptions out there. Mostly assume either Samsung China battery also has its flaws as well, or the root cause is not the battery itself. Anyway, this made the 1st Note 7 battery explosion case in China. Chargingphone also same thing, note 7 cold as stone If no response at all no matter what you did, then probbaly the battery or the motherboard is kong. QUOTE what am i gonna use in 11 days... Don't wait until 29 Sept. You can try to send it back to SC asap. According to some users, you can get a loan phone if you send the Note 7 to them early. |

QUOTE(jerryhean @ Sep 18 2016, 02:30 PM) Note 7 is not ban from airplane or from being carry on to the airplane. This is the most accurate answer.Note 7 is banned from being used such as turn on, charging etc on the airplane. Technically speaking, there's nothing wrong if the news/article title mentioned about the word "ban". You can only blame it for not elaborating more on the title. Instead, they explained more details inside the article. But, isn't this is a common practise in news report, where most of them love to use few words only in the title, which mostly could not justify the real meaning of the whole article? That's why we need to read the content instead of focusing on the title itself. But unfortunately, people always tend to jump into conclusion based on a small title. Again. that's a common thing in this real world. |

Regarding the precaution method, which is locking the maximum charging battery capacity at 60%. Not sure when Samsung will implement this globally. But for Samsung Hong Kong, they already started it today.

QUOTE(ramen241 @ Sep 18 2016, 07:29 PM) No matter what fix the gona push.. its the users responsibility now not use the 'faulty' phone. why the risk when samsung is asking the users strongly not use the phone.... Ya. When I was thinking about this, I suddenly realized. In these days, we saw so many explosion news here and there all around the world. People said those are so bad and negative, and those news are ruining the brand and image, etc. But do you all realize, why those explosion cases keep coming in, and it's still hapenning until this day? The answer is very simple! It's because at this very moment, there's still got many users who ignored Samsung's warning and they are still using Note 7. As simple as that.Samsung did recall the faulty units, Samsung did post the warning, apologizing, refunds, exchange, compensations, etc. We should applause for the gesture. But they forgot one thing that they have no power to stop and avoid. The most important thing! The human nature. Some people said they won't be afraid of it. Some said it won't happen so easily. Everyone has their very own reason. But at the end, if it really happen, who would be blamed? of course the victim would not blame themselves. Instead, they would blame Samsung. That's the human nature. If ALL users stop using Note 7 and return the faulty units, one, it will keep you safe, two, the explosion news would stop immediately and Samsung's image is safe. Isn't this a win-win situation? This post has been edited by Max2006: Sep 18 2016, 07:52 PM |

QUOTE(nexona88 @ Sep 19 2016, 12:27 AM) The question is why Samsung China edition would explode as well? Their battery are manufactured by ALT, not SDI. But still, the same thing happened. First we thought it's battery issue, so SDI took the responsibility and Samsung fired them. Now even ALT (China) also have the same problem. Looks like we are back to square one now. QUOTE(eagleknight @ Sep 19 2016, 05:10 AM) Samsung have recalled 18xx units of Note 7 from China Mainland few days ago which are released to dealers etc before 01/09 and should be using same battery as those 01st batch. I have read the article but didn't keep the link. Anyway please read the 02nd article again .... not sure are you understand Chinese? Read these 2 paragraphs. The 18xx recalled units are 测试体验用手机 (testing/demo units). 国行版本 (retail version units) are using different battery supplier, so they are not affected. However, the unit in this explosion case is 国行版本. Get the idea? QUOTE Just feel funny you like to share those negative issues, In Chinese proverb said: 唯恐天下不乱! Ya. I like to share. So you feel funny ah? Well, no one is forcing you to read. I already said this before. Don't like it, just skip it. You hate to see me to share, I got no problem with that. But there's a bunch of people in here who do follow the news, whether they are true, or to be verified. You said I am 唯恐天下不乱!, hahaha. I wished. Unfortunately I don't have that kind of power, I am just a small potato who like to forward the news. This post has been edited by Max2006: Sep 19 2016, 10:12 AM |

Latest update.
http://tech.qq.com/a/20160918/028682.htm Last night an user who is using Note 7 China units received a messsage from Samsung via the phone. The message (pic attached below) was asking the users to stop using Note 7. They also asked the users to go to nearest SC/retail shops for further assistance. They also stated that from now on, the phone will be limited to maximum 60% when charging. This post has been edited by Max2006: Sep 19 2016, 10:14 AM Attached thumbnail(s) |

QUOTE(jrrsim @ Sep 19 2016, 10:16 AM) Bro, I would like to directly translate this sentence: ya, it does not confirm. Afterall, it is still in "to be verified" statu). But you can read this site again and follow the progress (I assume you can read chinese).然而如果此次“首爆”事件属实的话,则意味着与该手机同一批次的Note 7国行也有可能存在安全隐患 However, IF this "first explosion" incident is actually genuine, this would mean that the handsets that are the same batch as this Note 7 retail version would have safety risks. it does not CONFIRM that it is the "retail version unit", the author clearly mentioned his opinion. http://item.btime.com/36blblj753890j8rfb248a1j3ke The original source pf the news was deleted. The victim has been reached by Samsung China representative, but no afterwards report from that. And Samsung China removed all the related info in their online store 京东商城. Not sure what's going on. No conclusion, no update, that's all. it's kind of obvious that Samsung China is taking action to cover up the explosion news inside China. Please read the link I provided above. It's not a fake news. It's really going on in China. So now we have no ways to verify this anymore since Samsung China already stepped in the game. QUOTE(jrrsim @ Sep 19 2016, 10:29 AM) I did not know about the issue with "cover ups" so I am not going to comment on that, but my understand is China would obviously not cover this incident up since Samsung is not a China company, so I would think to just wait and see how this issue progresses. If the company was from China, then I would sincerely doubt any news from China as they have a reputation of spinning news in their favour. Like I said previously, I am just forwarding the news, whether they are true or to be verified. I just want to to let you guys know that there are something going on out there. To believe or not to believe is up to personal judgement. I just forwarded the news. You guys can choose to read it or not to read it. If you choose to read it, you can feel free to discuss. But if you think the news is bullshit, then please blame the news or the source. Thank you. This post has been edited by Max2006: Sep 19 2016, 10:35 AM |
