QUOTE(unitron @ Aug 25 2018, 12:37 AM) I'm going for a more comfort and quiet tire, since this is the highway cruiser. Well if you read the reviews on those tires, especially the V12E2 & the new FK510, they're also considered very quiet, matching or even beating those so called mid-range comfort tires. The V12E2 was tested for only 67db by Car & Driver Magazine which is very quiet, plus it's also considered to have a softer sidewall (a forummer here who has used both V701 & V12E2 even said the V12E2 is softer!) so it's still pretty comfortable. So I'd highly recommend at least the V12E2 for comfort without sacrificing performance and yet all at a very affordable price, cheaper still than the V701. FYI I'm also using this tire for my wife's and son's cars and very happy with them.Sportier tires are for my other car which is for more spirited drive. |

Might consider them if i need to change tires on my other car.Me and another friend used the Hankook V2C2 and didn't like them, he's complaining it wear too fast. For me, it was lack of grip and sidewall stiffness I think I will try the S1N2, read positive review on it and got quoted RM40 cheaper per tire for it. I'll post my feedback after some km traveled. |

Sidewall stiffness, well if want comfort then sidewall cannot be stiff, something gotta give.Me and another friend used the Hankook V2C2 and didn't like them, he's complaining it wear too fast. S1N2 is entry level UHP so 1 class below the V12E2, so the grip also will not be as good but surely it will last much longer (TW 500 vs TW 320 on the V12E2). V12E2 is very similar like PS3 basically, just slightly better in the dry and less noisy. |

Yeah, can't have them all... that car of mine is using Yoko Advan Neova AD08R (still the best tires i ever used) previously, but way too expensive for the wallet. It's now on Maxxis Victra I-pro... good tires this (so far) |

AD08R is extreme category and sidewall stiff coz got steel inserts there, dry grip is surely excellent but wet especially on heavy rain should slow down coz not much water channels. It also will finish very fast, even faster than RE003 I think. Definitely not suitable for comfort. It's now on Maxxis Victra I-pro... good tires this (so far) |

Yeah, many said that about the AD08R (bad wet grip and wear fast)But I find it has excellent wet grip (not driving in the track of course lah..), very even wear rate which make it last much longer than my other tires. |

QUOTE(unitron @ Aug 27 2018, 10:15 AM) Yeah, many said that about the AD08R (bad wet grip and wear fast) It think wet grip without puddles should be ok but if water level a bit much then aquaplaning should be more pronounced, is it? I mean compared to normal UHP tires like PS3 for example which is well know to have excellent aquaplaning resistance. How many km can they go on your car?But I find it has excellent wet grip (not driving in the track of course lah..), very even wear rate which make it last much longer than my other tires. |

So far didn't find any issue with aquaplaning with the AD08R. From experience bad alignment (especially toe) cause more aquaplaning problem for me compared to tires My guess if the grooves are not properly parallel to the direction of travel, then water cannot be evacuated from it efficiently. Maybe the bad experiences with aquaplaning few times previously make me drive much slower in the wet, so no longer aquaplane. Sorry, didn't note down the km when i changed it |
