Goodyear ma, 1st tier brand like Michelin/Bridgestone/Continental/Pirelli, while Hankook is 2nd level brand hence much cheaper.
F1D5 is also pretty good though coz I've used that before till totally finished (3.5yrs), it just have much more chipping (like PS3) but it still works fine.

Postage not an issue. Problem is which to find a tire shop willingly install them when arrived. I don't think any tire shops would like to help since I'm not buying anything from them.

Penang price for F1D5 seems more expensive than PS3.
I would choose PS3 anytime.

Atr 2 is not noisy at all! The tyre shop fellow was trying to sell you a higher price tyre so that he can make more! It's perfectly ok for a low profile tyre!  I can tell you that it didn't lose out much compared to high end tyre like the conti csc5! 170 km/h and it sticks to the road like glue! laugh.gif

haha now we know! But the wife was happy and is still happy with the Fleva, I probably want to put the Achilles in my weekend car. The value for money is unbelievable for the ATR

Still quite happy on the fleva v701 on my myvi running 195/55/15. Serves low hp car well. Wet not all that great, never had issues on dry.
Running ps4 on my other ride. But heck that's a different class altogether.

Just want to update everyone on my experience using the tire. While we are happy with the tire grip and performance, I cannot say the same about the quality and reliability. In 22 years that I have driven all sort of vehicles all around using many different brands, this is the first time the tire's sidewall failed after hitting a pothole - about three weeks after using.

I can understand after a few months, and guna tayar brand lain langgar macam macam lubang lagi teruk pun tayar tak pernah koyak sidewall. It's a new tire so I feel that the tire is not strong enough for Malaysian roads (if you make a tire that cannot tahan masuk lubang, don't sell it in Malaysia.

I reported and send the tire for claim with YHI - the distributor for Yokohama tires in Malaysia, and they refuses to replace the 3 weeks old tire saying that it's not the tire's issue. The technician told me he even had a guy who used his tire for 3 days and experienced the same thing - YHI won't replace.

The saddest thing is the follow up took a month for us to get a respond from them. So the next step is that I will both take it to KPDNKK Consumer Tribunal. Next time we need to change the tires for our cars, no Yokohama for us.

tyre manufacturer usually wont claim for such situation.because those are not tyre defect, they are more to road hazards.their procedure to claim tyres usually take at least 2 months above.and believe luck is not on your side.yokohama are indeed good tyres.there are so many users, and i believe majority are satisfy customers.other brand might have such issue too when running into pothole at the right impact and right spot on the tyres.

I think the correct party to claim against is the local council, not against YHI in this instance.

Hmm.. I too had a similar experience which I had posted prior.

I didn't really pursue the matter but I probably won't be returning to the fleva in view of possibility of side wall rapture.

V701 should be better, coz T1R is very old model already and not that good to begin with as a UHP class tire. Neo3 & DRB are even lower class than T1R. I'd say at least it wont be worse than any of those! laugh.gif
