QUOTE(aregip @ Nov 13 2017, 09:44 AM) Hye guys.. i'm looking for Advan Fleva with profile 195/50/16.. I went to shop at my area, they mentioned that currently there is no stock for Advan Fleva, even other profile of tyre.. They said that more than 2 months they didn't get restock.. They also mentioned that Yokohama factory has burnt last 2-3 months.. Is it true..? Depends on where you go. I got my 215/45/R17 yesterday at ED Tayar in Shah Alam. I know some other shops which stocks them too. It's true that the plant in The Philippines caught fire but that was in May and from what I read it resumed partial operations within a week.

I found out about ED Tayar on Mudah actually. I was interested in the Achilles ATR because it was cheaper but the guy said some driver said it was noisy. The wife prefer the new set to be quieter. Her car and she's paying for it so we went with Fleva. If you look at Mudah there's a shop in Setapak that has 205/50/16 for RM310 but last month's ad so not sure if still in stock. https://www.mudah.my/Yokohama+Advan+Fleva+V...re-51954410.htmWill write an early review in a bit

Early review for the Fleva in 215/45/R17 on the wife’s Mazda 3. (200km+).
Previously we’ve used the Continental, Bridgestone and more recently Silverdolf on the Mazda. The Silverdolf was because the shop that the missus went to before recommended it to her and she decided to buy it. I was unhappy at first because I never heard of the brand - apparently it was under Silverstone/Toyo. However I was pleasantly surprised with it. The grip dry and wet was good, no aquaplanning but my wife said it was loud. Because of the way we both drive we needed something with good grips in both wet and dry conditions and her requirement now is a quieter ride. The Silverdolf lasted about one and a half years and it was time to change all the tires.
We went to ED Tayar in Shah Alam after looking through Mudah for the tires that we were interested in. We narrowed it to the Achilles ATR Sport, Goodyear Excellence, Yokohama Fleva and we were also considering the Michelin PS4. While we are there, the Continental MC6 was also thrown in the mix.
We both knew the Michelins were very good but were unsure to spend that much (RM1,600 for the whole set - still cheaper than other places though). I really liked the Indonesian made ATR because I think it was very good value (RM800) but according to the guy, some drivers said it was noisy. So that turned the wife off. Both the ATR and Fleva had the same dry traction rating of AA but the Fleva had better threadwear if I’m not mistaken. So it was down to either Continental MC6 and the Yokohama Fleva. My experience with Advan tires was that their wet grip are not too good. But we decided to try it anyway. While neither of us are racers, we are not Sunday drivers. As the Mazda is a great car that likes to be pushed to it’s limit we feel it does need a decent set of rubbers to go with it.
So the last few days we have been driving throughout mostly in dry conditions and a few damp conditions. The first thing we noticed is that the ride is much more quieter - I used to listen to the music in the car at 8/9 volume but now we can keep it at 5/6. The ride feels more comfortable and less harsh. But this could be maybe because the tires are new. We are very happy with the grip. I haven’t feel the car giving away. I’m sort of looking forward to driving in heavy rain and see how the tires will handle.
All in all initial observations are good and we are happy with the purchase but these are early days.

QUOTE(19 Degree South @ Nov 21 2017, 09:26 AM) Atr 2 is not noisy at all! The tyre shop fellow was trying to sell you a higher price tyre so that he can make more! It's perfectly ok for a low profile tyre! I can tell you that it didn't lose out much compared to high end tyre like the conti csc5! 170 km/h and it sticks to the road like glue! haha now we know! But the wife was happy and is still happy with the Fleva, I probably want to put the Achilles in my weekend car. The value for money is unbelievable for the ATR

Just want to update everyone on my experience using the tire. While we are happy with the tire grip and performance, I cannot say the same about the quality and reliability. In 22 years that I have driven all sort of vehicles all around using many different brands, this is the first time the tire's sidewall failed after hitting a pothole - about three weeks after using.
I can understand after a few months, and guna tayar brand lain langgar macam macam lubang lagi teruk pun tayar tak pernah koyak sidewall. It's a new tire so I feel that the tire is not strong enough for Malaysian roads (if you make a tire that cannot tahan masuk lubang, don't sell it in Malaysia.
I reported and send the tire for claim with YHI - the distributor for Yokohama tires in Malaysia, and they refuses to replace the 3 weeks old tire saying that it's not the tire's issue. The technician told me he even had a guy who used his tire for 3 days and experienced the same thing - YHI won't replace.
The saddest thing is the follow up took a month for us to get a respond from them. So the next step is that I will both take it to KPDNKK Consumer Tribunal. Next time we need to change the tires for our cars, no Yokohama for us.

QUOTE(wkc5657 @ Jan 22 2018, 03:30 PM) I think the correct party to claim against is the local council, not against YHI in this instance. yup, trying both
