I think if you're planning to sell the phone when IP8 comes out next year, having scratches will surely de-value the phone price.

Apple has warned about the scratches but that doesn't seem to stop majority from getting it. So I guess, people are ok with the scratches.

i think ill just stick with ip7+ for 2-3 years.. im actually a fan of the 's' version. but this time i'll go for 7 due to waterproof + stereo.. no longer need to use hand to redirect sound from the bottom of the phone.. lol

As far as i know, all SG set can be sent to Apple service center here.

Just remember that the housing this year "wraps" itself along the sides of the camera lens, which means that part of the metal will be exposed with most case camera cutouts. My friend in SG said his Jet Black which was in a case from day one already has mini scratches along the sides of the camera - he suspects little fibers doing the scratching each time he takes the phone in/out of his jeans pockets. I noticed the new Caudabe cases wrap around the camera edges, so you might want to take a look at the pictures and use that as a basis when shopping for cases.

I thought they reported earlier a shortage of 7 Plus in Jet Black and Black. Anyways, good news then. No shortages.
