QUOTE(alfredtwl @ Sep 8 2016, 08:01 AM) Yes ... though I am never an iPhone fanI'd just like to keep myself updated with its development My current 128GB iP6+ is rarely used. I will take out and test it several days with each firmware update My daily driver will always be an Android as I find IOS being too restrictive for my usage |

QUOTE(alfredtwl @ Sep 8 2016, 08:28 AM) Preorder in Spore start on 9 Sep with delivery on 16 Sephttp://www.straitstimes.com/tech/smartphon...art-from-sept-9 However this time round I would not be able to order it online as my son had moved out from Spore and back to KL. Ordering online need a Spore credit card with matching Spore address Most probably I will wait for the dust to settle and can definitely get it cheaper in 2-3 months time by at least S$200-300 from 3rd party reseller such as MobileSquare, Kasia Mobile . For example the ip6s+ 128gb, these guys were selling up to S$300 cheaper than Apple store and are S'pore official units. Anyway it is too early for me to advise you my probable buying date. However I will make a trip down to Spore to have a hands on feel once it is available there This post has been edited by benny888: Sep 8 2016, 08:47 AM |

The iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are the first iPhones to be rated IP67 for water and dust resistance, but consumers should think twice about bring the device to the shower or the pool.
As noted in the footnote on the iPhone 7's webpage, Apple cautions users that "splash, water and dust resistance are not permanent conditions and resistance might decrease as a result of normal wear". Therefore, Apple states that "liquid damage is not covered under warranty". So what does the IP67 rating actually mean? Well, the iPhone 7 has the highest dust protection rating at 6, and the second highest water protection rating at 7. This means that it is protected from water immersion up to 1 meter for up to 30 minutes. Nonetheless, it is important to note that most, if not all phone manufacturers do not cover liquid damages if usage guidelines are not adhered to or the devices are misused. More : @hardwarezone: Take note, The iPhone 7 is water resistant, but liquid damage is not covered under warranty. http://gohwz.ws/2crmIeT |

I am never an iphone fan but I do keep up with all iphone series since the first iphone
I had tested all the iphone series till ip6s+ I will be selling off my 128gb ip6s+ when ip7+ reaches here I had tried using the ip6+ and ip6s+ solidly a month but its experience can never match my other Androids Basically its closed file system and terribly horrible file management system is a big deterrent to me using it as a daily working phone Even with latest ios 10 I am still unimpressed But being a smartphone enthusiast I will still be buying to test out the ip7+ (128gb) |

QUOTE(Ch3n_low @ Sep 15 2016, 10:58 AM) Is basically the management of files on IOS vs AndroidTo me is quite an important issue but could be totally unimportant to others IOS restricts any file type to only one app and one must reassigned the same file to other apps if needed eg a PDF file if assigned to Adobe Reader cannot be read by any other apps unless I reassigned it again and that needs iTunes Using iTunes to manage my files collection is troublesome Most files ( except video) I am unable to delete directly on phone unless to use iTunes All files downloaded through Mail app if I assigned a certain app to open it , I must use the same app to access it again Whatsapp : every image and video files is lumped together in one single Camera folder together with all my other photos. Deleting any images/videos on whatsapp will not delete the file and I need to manually go into camera folder to delete it and than select empty from Deleted folder Downloading attachments on Mail app is terribly slower vs even my lowest end Android. One still need a separate app to send attachments thro Mail. I had purchased Sandisk iXpand 64GB drive to act as external USB OTG drive but is overall a disappointing experience - file transfer speeds is so terribly slow vs Android. And the Sandisk drive isn't cheap either. The iPhone is overall a very good efficient phone other than these file management issues. Such files management is easily done on any Android and on the phone itself. I could easily create any folders on phone internal memory or ext SDCard and move files easily within phone itself. No need to connect phone with PC to do such simple tasks My iPhone I used mainly to watch all my subscribed iTunes podcasts, listen to Music and watch Movies and I had spent close to RM 5K on Apps/Music/Movies alone on these in past 8+ years. |

No drastic speed increase in practical use though ip7 score significantly higher in benchmarks. The ip6s wins in many tests too

QUOTE(Mackiddo @ Sep 18 2016, 08:53 AM) https://9to5mac.com/2016/09/17/iphone-7-plus-hissing/ Indeed a very distinct and irritating noise!iP7/Plus hissing sound issue AppleCare’s response to the issue to Hackett, however, also implies that it’s a defect. Just hope it is only a minor random problem One unlucky Spore buyer reported ip7 256gb seriously budge within 24 hours of purchase - probably battery bloated up? http://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/iphone-c...l#post103686664 This post has been edited by benny888: Sep 18 2016, 10:48 AM |
