need help here.
i just create and sign up for paypal acc.,and this morning just receive PP confirmation code.
even debit card/my saving account is able to make online shopping.
unfortunately im still unable make payment via paypal direct by my debit card [my credit balance on usd3.90]
my question is:

how to make direct payment use debit card/deduct direct to my saving account? and
how to top up my paypal ?

Thanks in Advance.
*
Residents other than from United States are unable to top up Paypal. So we could only pay by direct deduct from your savings account.

Make sure you have set your credit limit for ONLINE transaction, not withdrawal limit, which could be done at atm.

Certain banks have extra registration needed to be done for online transactions. Maybank would need to register for MSOS. Cimb also need extra registration. Pbe is much more convenient without any registration.

If still doesn't work then contact your bank. Either that bank doesn't support Paypal yet or other reasons.

I guess the only way to solve is by changing to another bank which is way more easier and faster. Last time I also have similar problem with using Maybank so I switched to public bank. smile.gif

can u guide me how to activate the public bank online shopping n bla bla.

You can register a debit card at pbe bank there and ask them to allow online payments and transaction. Then set your online transaction limit at the atm then it's done.

Then add your debit card to your same Paypal account, verified it like you have done to your Maybank card and you would be able to use it. Not really complicated since you have already done it before smile.gif

I used to pay my eBay fees also can wer. Maybe you could try and see how it is. As you know some staff doesn't even know what is Paypal sweat.gif

hi. how to withdraw my paypal balance? what is the difference between Withdraw to your bank account and Withdraw funds to your card ?
thanks in advance
*
Reply to your bank account means the bank account you have registered in Paypal. You could check it in your Paypal account. Withdraw funds to your card means you type your card number instead of your bank number.

Some people have bank account without a card so withdraw to bank account would be more applicable to them.

ok lets sat i withdraw funds to my card. then how do i get the money or the reduce from my CC statement ?
*
When you select withdraw funds to your card, the amount your want to withdraw will be deducted from your Paypal and after 5-7days you would see that amount in your CC statement.

Also there is a RM20 charge. So it's better to withdraw to bank account instead. But then one sad thing I knew is that Paypal currency exchange rate is not good. sad.gif you would lost around 0.1 through their exchange rate.

So it's not your card problem but instead is the seller problem. I guess you now have 3 cards to use for your next transaction sweat.gif

I wouldn't say paypal is safe yet. But it's good to use much of your knowledge and common senses.

For me I would only use debit card with the least amount for making transaction.

I have news that some banks are low in online security and anyone could use your card for paypal transaction without even a need for online verification. And those who could obtain your card number could be a friend or your local cashier.

hi ,
im having trouble buying somethinng on ebay priced at rm1300 ,
when i tried to make the transaction , paypal asked me to use another debit/credit card .  I think this might be a problem with rm1000 limit but i dont know if its the limit from paypal or my card issued bank.Anyone knows on how to remove the rm1000 limit ?
PS:I've already verified my account & used pp many times before
*
It's your card problem since it mention you to use another debit/credit card. You could update your limit to a higher amount only by setting it at the atm machine. Usually by default the limit is RM500 only smile.gif

Wanna ask all Paypal pros...

I have a few Oversea customers. I will need them to pay me by paypal.

My question are ..

Should I ask them pay me in RM or USD ? Which is better?

If I wanna cash out my money from Paypal into my Debit card, If its in USD, I'll get charges + exchange rates charges right?
but if its in Rm, there won't be any exchange rates right?

So Rm is better?
*
Of course it's better to get in RM. Because you actually set the currency rate for your buyer laugh.gif

But if u get in usd, Paypal determines the currency rate and you know Paypal currency rate really sux, the last time I withdraw my money from USD is actually 0.1 lesser than the actual currency rate.

Here's some simple calculation:
Withdraw 2500usd(3.05 conversion) = RM7625 *This is paypal conversion
Withdraw 2500usd(3.15 conversion) = RM7875 *Actual rate

You will lose RM250 through currency exchange rate.

USD is primary used for international trade. Unless you expect the USD rate will rise in a few months time and you're not eager to take out the money, then choose USD. At least it could be part of your money investment biggrin.gif

And how to transfer to my debit card? I'm using Maybank Debit card and Public bank Debit Card

Choose withdraw to your MBE or PBE bank account, faster and no extra charges.

hmm.. i beg to differ....
there's charges if you're not withdrawing more than 400 if not mistaken
*
Charges is just RM3 for withdrawing to bank account if less than RM400 and RM20 for credit card, otherwise there is no extra charges dy. You will get the net amount as shown in Paypal when withdrawing.

Hey guys, need help on something.
my friend in the us is helping me purchase something from US site thru paypal.
how do i return the funds to her?
from where can i get a trustable seller with reasonable rates?
please guide me, paypal pros.
*
If you want to return money to her Paypal, create your own Paypal account and link your debit card to it. But bear in mind that you will lost some through currency exchange rate. Since it's your friend it's better to pay him personally than going through Paypal.

What are you trying to say "trustable seller"?

Hello just wanted to ask , what for i wanted to link my credit/debit card to my paypal account when i can use the bank account i've linked to it to make payment and withdraw fund??And beside that i'm a noob so i need to ask something, how paypal use our bank account number specified by us to make payment when the bank account number can only be use for depositing $$??Because i saw my mum give our house tenant her bank account number and the tenant will deposit rental to my mum account every month, and my mum told me the account number can only let us deposit $$ but not take,so why paypal mention we can use bank account to make payment??

Added on March 31, 2011, 3:54 amAnd addon is why do i have to add paypal funds through my debit/credit card or bank account when i can directly use this two methods to pay my stuff during online transaction instead of relying on the fund??
*
Bank account is added for withdrawing, linking your debit card is just for verification purpose, to make sure that credit card is not stolen or being used without authorization.

Paypal doesn't use bank account to make payment, it uses your card. Don't be confuse with it. Your mom could only get money but can't withdraw it? It must be your Paypal account under limitation, not verified, or other reason. Normally it could be used for both deposit and so must be withdrawing.

Add Paypal funds is for US residents only. Some people might not want to link their credit card to it in case of fraud or hacked account. So they could just use the add funds button and put in just the amount they want. But in other countries other than US, you could not add funds.

so If I have public bank debit card and verify already, when I withdraw funds, can I withdraw funds to this "bank account" rather than to card? (seem withdraw to bank is more cheaper) our debit card always got 1 bank account with it right? that account can use?
so I can link my debit card to paypal and also that debit card's bank account to it?
when I using debit card to fund in paypal, will it auto become RM or I can choose to convert it to US so that next time when I need to buy something in Internet, I can direct use the US funds in paypal to buy?
*
Yeah you can use your debit card link with it and the same bank account the debit card to withdraw money.
You can't add funds to your Paypal unless you ask someone to send the funds to you from another Paypal acc.

I think add using top up button. Not very sure bout it. When I email Paypal staff they always tell me there's no way to add funds in it if not US residents. rclxub.gif

you cannot add fund through debit/credit,

however you can use debit/credit card pay through paypal. correct me if i wrong xD
*
I think can dy now. Now they implemented the button "top up" in Paypal there which is same like add funds, available bank from cimb, pbe, maybank and others. I also just notice that. Few months ago can't add funds. Maybe can try see. But don't see any point in adding funds if you use debit card.

But RHB bank mention they've the function where you could add fund

Nono i not say my mum has a paypal account, she doesn't own one,but she has a saving account in CIMB bank , and we owned a house at pg and is currently renting it out , so the tenant would pay us the rental monthly through bank in , so my mum give him her bank account number so that he could bank in every month through ATM by using the number, and i just wonder whether the bank account can only use to deposit money or it could withdraw money too.So if it can be use to withdraw money, why my mum dooesn't hesitate to give the tenant her saving account number??Can't the tenant just use the saving account number to withdraw my mum account $$??And if answer is saving account cannot be used to withdraw $$ but can deposit $$,why in paypal they mention backup payment by using your saving account number since they cannot withdraw $$ from using the number
*
Savings account could only use for deposit but not withdrawing. For withdrawing you need the card number and the code behind. I think backup payment by using savings account is for US residents. Maybe what they mean is that you can use the bank account to add funds/top up your Paypal.

So does it mean,as long as people know our debit and credit card number and code behind it,they can take our money or use our credit card number to buy stuff??
*
In Malaysia then no. Because they will require a code for activation of the paypal account. But in other countries some does not need to verify and can be used straight away.

So just be careful loh. Not necessary the card can be used in paypal but in other websites too. I usually separate my money in a only savings account to be on the safe side

So that's mean other site that doesn't require activation code , people can just use our money by knowing the info mention??Like when u buy from a person online, you give him your credit card number,so that's mean he can take how much he want already??
*
It depends. But credit cards allow you to file a chargeback. For debit card it's more risky. You can request bank to cancel any online payment if that's your main concern
