It's cool to have an aquarium this way, very neat and space saving so will changing water for your fishes a hassle? I might wanna do that for my home in the future because my aquariums are talking a lot of space. 

By the way, if you output the video in 1080i, will your projector be able to handle it? Will it flicker more in 1080i. I tried using 1080i on my Bravia, the text has a little ghosting, tried this from my Sony 76H and my XBOX 360. So, now, using 720P. If there's 1080P to try, I would like to try but I guess I'll need to change to Bravia X if I wanted to. 

power bill very kau ker? back in msia, my room's AC (1.5hp) on 24/7 (not including the AC in my living room, pc room, parents room, granny's room, and av room - not 24/7) ...only RM100-200 per month what power bill?

I personally like darker background color...grey is pretty good

Just curious. The movie you are playing is just normal 720x480? any upscalling involve? If no than the projector or your DVD player must be damn good. Have u try hook it up to your pc and play some 1080 source that u can download from microsoft webside. Post a picture see how wonderfull it is.

um....the wall obviously...where the hell got pink color projector screen diy with fabric dye? Power is almost not a concern in msia *cough* but over here when I have to pay my own electricity....power savings equipments is a must...I didnt know much last time and I bought some 200W halogen lamp....when the power bill comes....holy ****

Timothyy, I was just wondering whether the replacement bulb for the projector is very expensive kah? A few hundred, right? Any idea? I'm asking for my friend, hope you can shed some light here. I don't trust the salesmen, they said very cheap only lah and the bulb lasts a lifetime. Hai ...... salesmen talk again. 

yeah...black background is good....i use a really large black curtain stretched behind my pull-down draper screen to have that higher 'contrast' look...

with a black background and very low light, your screen will look like it's floating...damn impressive...

PJ is really a good deal if you can control your lighting ambience...heck i'm using a dell 2200mp (2000:1 contrast ratio) for nearly 3 years already and i'm still having fun with it.

Of course the contrast / colour will look a bit funny if u compare it to the newer DLPs - but hey, for the amount of money i paid those days when projector were still new i Msia...i think i made the right investment...

remember those days - even a Sanyo Z1 costs nearly RM7K....and i bought the Dell which i think is quite good - for only RM4K. And Dell is really really generous with cables i tell ya. And don't talk about the prices of plasma those days....

if anybody wanna start cheap with a projector...just get the current budget Dell for RM2K only, or those cheap Optomas...then once u have more $$$ upgrade...for casual DVD viewing, a cheap good SVGA projector is ok lah for starters...but of course the pic quality wont be on par with those HD 720p DLP...but it's better than none. 

i dunno if cheap data LCD could give good video quality...but i think DLP will provide u a relatively better video quality for budget projecots

now...i guess one could get a really low budget simple HT projector set with this

projector 2500
HT setup 1000
screen 300 (DIY cheaper...)
misc (curtains etc) 1000
Total = +- RM5000 only...hehe...

cool huh?

But if you have loads of money - of course buy the proper HT ones lah which has 16:9 panels....i'm poor, so that's why i'm calculative...hehe

bulbs for normal HT projector will always be > RM1500...or is it higher?

that's why i chose the Dell...the bulb is only about RM600+...a lot lot lesser than the normal price of other models...But havent check the latest price.

not that Dell is that good...but for those who are on a budget...you'd see its benefits...

if u guys dont have the dough...just go and shop around all those cheaper projectors out there and do lotsa demo demo demo...

i think one fine day when i have loads of money...i'll get a proper 1080p projector...hehe...one fine day lah, when hd dvd titles are darn cheap too....we can always dream, can't we?

whoa nice set up, i feel u bro, last time when i was in KL, living in an apartment shuck for a movie goofer and gamer like myself, i blasted kau kau every friday night, darn few nosey neighbours go complain even my land lord come give me lecture,lol,

haiz have to move out in the end, where got fun see movie with volume so soft.... promise myself never stays in apartment anymore...
