hope to have a projector setup as well
nice one u have there
but is a projector capable of receiving normal of the air shows?
*
Thanks man.
Normal air show as in? Well, my uncle is using it to watch History channel and WATV on Astro. Ha! Ha! laugh.gif laugh.gif I heart pain seeing my lamp hours shot up to almost 400hrs now.
But yeah... the problem with my Astro is my S video cable is not good. So,a lot of interference.
What you guys can do is get an amp, feed all the source into the amp and 1 HDMI to your projector. This way, you can minimise the noise.

QUOTE(Endless9930 @ Oct 29 2007, 01:41 PM)
WOW!!!!

Just wondering the pic quality of the projector

Is it good?? Because last time i saw it, its like a lots of tiny square on it

Well, whats the resolution?? Is it great??

And the money spend on the projector??
*
Pic quality? Well, you can see all the photos taken on page 1. HEck... they are not cutand paste from internet... its all taken from my house. Tiny square? All LCD projectors will give you squares. But if you calculate the distance and throw distance properly, you see 1 smooth screen.
In fact, I prefer this than go cinema. We were complaining Shrek 3 when we went to Cineleisure. Since that movie, we never touch cinema anymore.

QUOTE(rx330 @ Oct 29 2007, 01:43 PM)
as long its  a HD projector and feed with good source, i dun think it would have any problems
*
This is 720p projector. And if you ask me, this is all you need. 1080p is too expensive and you don't have the source to play. Astro is 480p. Our DVD is 480p-576p. And thanks to normal players like Sony 76H, it helps to upscale to 720p. Good enough.

Too clear... you won't feel movie like. Too fake.
But if you are having 42" LCD or plasma, don't think the 1080p or 720p play much diff.

my fren wen is astro 480p? biggrin.gif

im used to sharp clear images
btw, wats the cheapest yet realiable HD projector now? 720p will do

im in jaybee, i need to plug in to normal of the air shows by spore, unless im using the digital broadcast, but not all channels are supported(but HD channel is)
*
kekeke... I also donno... I think it is 480i.

Anyway, in projector, sometimes, spending a little bit more will give you the extra umph.

So, for now, I am still recommending Epson TW700. Although personally I prefer Panny AX100 but due to its problem, its better to stick with Epson.

AE900? Alamak doh.gif You guys... you guys...
Go buy AE1000 la. List price only RM12.9k. Sure can get around RM10k.
But buy it if you have dedicated AV room. If not, go for brighter one better.

Now using TW700... kinda happy with it. No problem yet.
Just finished watching Spidey 3. At least got ppl comment... "Wah... like cinema only"

A Lcd tv or projector is better?
*
For Astro, you need CRT. Its the best. It knows how to camouflage the noise and distortion.

QUOTE(htkaki @ Nov 8 2007, 06:04 PM)
Bro RX330, it's LG 42LC7R.

xterminator, depending on individual. If watch tv (Astro) a lot, then LCD TV wld be a better choice as projector's bulb lifespan is short (average abt 2,000hrs). If it is purely for DVD, HD-DVD, BD or certain interesting programs (e.g. sports), then I would opt for projector.
*
My uncle use my projector to watch Astro... everyday, every night...
My lamp hours shot up in 1 month. And he is gonna be here for another 2 months. cry.gif cry.gif cry.gif cry.gif
The agony icon_question.gif icon_question.gif

Anyway... you need a so called dedicated area to have a projector but any corner also can have LCD.
There are more works to do to set up projector where as LCD just plug n play.
You get 4 times the size or more for projector with the same money you spent on your LCD.

Hi,

A front pj is not a tv and even thou it can be used as one, it will not perform as well as a flat panel or crts... there are so many hassles involved ... totally dark environment ; longer start up and shut down time ; short bulb life span and not to mention de hassle of initial setup... de other displays mentioned are just plug and play...

BUT for de big screen experience ... well there is no substitute ... unless u can afford de 110inch plasma/lcd model la...

Cheers

Hi hi hi.
Sorry, thought my this thread dead. Ha! Ha!
Anyway, I exchanged with a new AX100 before. The result was the same. That is why they allow me to money back then. And I am still using the Epson TW700 withbulb life of 980 hrs. Yup... a bit dim.

Overall, in terms of performance, I'd prefer AX100 if no color banding. Its more movie like.

But I am happy with TW700. Hardly watch but my uncle use it to watch Astro. That's why the hour so much.

I will be moving house again very soon. So, I will post again the whole new set up. Might be thinking of new sound system as well to come with it. Old JBL might just dump to my room.

Will surely keep you guys updated.
