OK guys. Its been too long and finally I am proud to show off my hard earned money and sweats along with it... Took me more than 2 months to complete it and now, I finally can enjoy it...

I started in October 2006 by ideas going through my mind... drawing sketches and searching for the right projector, searching for the right projector screen...

So, I started painting my living room around mid of November 2006. Got it done within 4 days or so... wife didn't help. Ha! Ha!... So, the house started look like sh!t since then until today because of rubbish and stuff.

Just want to thank my wife for being so understanding and supportive on this project. She did help me... a lot even when she should not...

I'll begin with one before I started the project... this was my house... apartment before...

This is the not completed wall

This is the completed wall (psst... thats my wife watching her fav 29" TV... Astro)
Note that I had aircon installed and new curtain as well. Didn't go for black out cloth material as they don't look so good.
user posted image

Then, by 30th November 2006, I can considered the first guy in Malaysia got the projector...
First thing I do? Took it out, shoot it onto my red color wall...
user posted image

After figuring what size I can actually project through this baby, I sent my screen material to a frame maker and asked him to make 110 x 57" screen...
Wasted... I didn't take pics of how we brought the ready made screen up my apartment... Imagine 9-foot long screen. It couldn't go into the lift... so, we got to carry through the stair case. And the 9-footer couldnt twist and turn... so, we got to hold it in the middle of the stair case and we walk up holding it and passing it up slowly. Wow... the best exercise I ever did. He! He! And that was 10pm that day... it was around 10 Dec 06.
And here is the result
user posted image

Now, my first try was on my dining table using a foot stool .
user posted image

This one from another angle... The room is still messy as things not complete yet...
user posted image
And this is my HDMI cable I bought... 15m length...
user posted image

This pulak... my S-Video cable... 20m length. Its not so good as it starts to give me problem now.
user posted image

OK... now, mounting my projector onto the ceiling was the hardest job I ever done. Drilling 4 wall plug holes was like taking my whole life... till today, I still feel tired... kakaka flex.gif flex.gif

Here is the finished product.

Hello. After some time quiet down and enjoying my projector... I guess it is time for me to add up my story. Or else, there is no fun to it. Well, AX100 is giving me the period again... I have sent the unit back to Panasonic for repair but they are still unable to resolve the problem... here is some shots which I took to show to the Panny's tech staff...

New Entry-28 Oct 2007

OK. So, what happened to me lately? Well, I got a baby. Ha! ha! So, life is totally different when you have a baby. Hardly watch movie on my projector but my uncle uses it for Astro. So, my new projector got 300+ hours and still kicking. What new projector?
Oh yeah... I've got my refund from Panasonic. It was quite troublesome anyway... and now, I am using .... ten... ten... ten.... Epson TW700.
Here is some pics on the item itself.

Most important is the picture quality right?
Well, I can't remember which camera setting (my digital camera) I was using but heck...
I am using Black Theater 1

This shot is taken from my DVE DVD. Its a bit difficult to go right to which calibration image from this DVD as you need to go through the whole DVD. user posted image

I am trying to use back the same shots with my Pana earlier. So... here it goes...

My favourite testing DVD...

Hey, your place looks really cosy. Are you an interior designer?

Your cinema looks cool...have u thought about hanging the projector?
*
Thanks for the compliment. No le... I am not an interior designer but with some ideas from magazines and cheap lighting, you house can look cozy too.
Well, as u can see, finally the projector is up on the ceiling.

QUOTE(PcWork @ Jan 26 2007, 08:57 PM)

Maybe my defination on projector in my mind was created when i started shouting GOAL at mamak shop.  biggrin.gif

That was my first impression as well. But out of the blue, I went searching for a projector. I thought... heck... if a 42" plasma gonna cost me arount RM8k... why not try this...

I got it 2nd hand. Some nice guy was selling it. He said he got it in Singapore for S$400 which I believe him

QUOTE(dinodog_Jr @ Jan 26 2007, 10:58 PM)
Why the wall must being red? Does red reflecting more when direct light towards it? So, it will make the projection's picture more brighter & vivid, rite?

Just wild guess..i first time seeing red..

Btw, if i got a mini theather like u.. I won't allow ppl to eat popcorn & Not even Char Kuey Teow..

We drink champagne...haha.

I was just bout to say why no air-con..haha..
Good job.. I hope the air-con won't dripping water onto the screen.
*
Why red? Well, its warmer color. A perfect home cinema should be black and preferably velvet of carpet the whole room including the wall and ceiling. But that will make the room like ghost house. Ha! HA!
So, being red, its nice and darken the wall. I have to minimise the number of walls that will reflect the projection. I still got my floor and ceiling which is still white.

About the aircon, its nice. If drip water, I will come slap your big mouth... kakaka vmad.gif vmad.gif sweat.gif sweat.gif
