So is it wiser to pick the mtk version over the sd version for performance and battery life? Whats the pros and cons of mtk version? I'm not sure as I've never used any phone with mtk proc
*
Few years ago, I was as skeptical as u when it comes to buying a phone using the mtk chipset. Yes, back then they had bad reviews and horrendous usability. Gps was my main concern (because I often travel outstation to unfamiliar places) and at that time, it wasn't gps friendly.

But these days, the Helio X20 had promising feedbacks, and in the end I just bought it (last year). Dude, it's superb. Gps locked in seconds, no lag even multitask a few heavy games, battery lasted at least a day's work till bedtime. Tried opening an autocad .dwg (2d) file and surprisingly, no lag/hang at all.

However, mtk versions have no/less custom rom builds (if ure into that) than the SD versions. Majority will state SD has better battery utilization than mtk.

i read preview here and it seems that
Note 4 (Mediatek) > Note 3 (SD650) > Note 4 (SD625)

http://m.gsmarena.com/xiaomi_redmi_note_4-review-1568p3.php

Note 3 scores higher in single core performance test and graphic power but overall the Mediatek version performs better

can anyone share best screen protector for Note 4 which fits perfectly without 'bubble' at the side die to 2.5D curved display

thanks

I use the nillkin 9h+ pro (something like that). The side edges of the SP ends at the inner border of the side bezels..

What about the heat? I'm using a HTC running the old Helio X10, I think it heats up relatively quickly...especially at areas with poor reception.

Attracted to the new blue and black colour variants. Too bad the front bezels are not blue for the blue variant.

Not familiar with X10, but on X20 if u waze at a bad coverage area, it does heat up. So far, I've encountered just once heat warning 42°c bcoz of that.. but new updates that came in some how fixed that I supposed.

looks ok... i know there's no screen protector which can cover the whole 2.5D display right?

i am going to order the nillkin frost back cover because it comes with a normal screen protector and hopefully its dimension is the same as your nillkin tempered glass.

still can't decide whether to get the Mediatek or SD625 hmm.gif

Cheapest will do. because your mom probably won't notice the difference or flashing any Custom ROM.
*
Lol.
Whose mom flashes ROM?

I regret buying Redmi Note 3 MTK, so hard to unlock bootloader

If battery life is the most important, go for the SD version. The adreno 506 gpu performs better than the Mali-T880 MP4 too. Only downside to the SD version is build quality, it's top and bottom part of the phone is plastic like the redmi note 3.

11street sellers have this warranty T&C
*ALL GOODS SOLD ARE NOT REFUNDABLE!!!*

WARRANTY TERMS & CONDITIONS

1 YEAR LABOUR SERVICE FROM THE DATE OF PURCHASED AGAINST ALL MANUFACTURING DEFECTS EXCLUDING ANY DAMAGE CAUSED BY UNAUTHORIZED THIRD PARTIES OR WATER/LIQUID DAMAGE.

3 MONTHS WARRANTY COVERED FOR LCD DISPLAY, TOUCH SCREEN, KEYPAD, TRACK PAD AND TOUCH PAD.

1 MONTH WARRANTY COVERED FOR CAMERA, BATTERY, EARPHONE AND AC TRAVEL CHARGER.

wondering whether lazada seller or DirectD has the same T&C as they are not stated there

anyone here can recommend a trustworthy seller either from lazada or 11st? tqvm!

yea both got pros and cons. mtk version solid build with full metal body and looks better with chamfered edges. sd version better battery life with the power efficient SoC.

Build quality comparison

So from what i read here are pro and cons.

MTK
Made in China
Full metal body
Faster processor
Runs hotter on some apps
Poor battery efficiency
Import set about RM100 cheaper than SD

SD
Made in India
Metal + Plastic Body
Slower Processor
Runs much cooler
Better battery efficiency
Import set about RM100 more than MTK

Think think think. Need to get 1 for my mom.

Can't wait any longer for Mi Malaysia to launch
