Some ppl wanna use SD because they claim want to have a longer battery usage compared to mtk.. it's not the chipset alone, it's also how the OS is being setup, and how u utilize the battery..

Wanna see the comparison of both's battery usage n sot..

Actually there is, I used this method multiple times for transferring chats from my old iPhone 5s to my Android phone.

I used this app. You need a PC with iTunes to extract the necessary files. Check it out here :

Hi guys, I'm planning to buy a redmi note 4 for my mum. I wonder whether i should get the mtk version or the SD625 version. Which one is better in performance as well as battery life wise? Her daily usage is whatsapp and Facebook only.

Cheapest will do. because your mom probably won't notice the difference or flashing any Custom ROM.

Do you think 2gb ram will be sufficient for that type of usage? Because as far as i know, Facebook eats up lots of memory when working. Even me myself using j5 (2016) with 2gb ram will face screen freeze for few secs when browsing lowyat forum with chrome.

If you worry about your mom browsing FB will lag, then go for 3GB of RAM (if your budget allowed to)

As for Chrome, Chrome kinda high RAM consuming.

It's about throttling, if your phone heats up, it will have to drop clockspeed to compensate, it also affects battery life when the phone is too hot. If you read the preview they also mention they can't feel much diff in terms of performance for real life usage.

Lazada. I bought from seller Terabyte. Displayed price RM 775, minus 10% c'card discount, meaning RM 679.50 only.

By the way, found a Lazada link, RM 759.. not yet discount 10% c'card.

Thanks, is this seller trustworthy as for warranty claims as this is an AP set. also, is this using the global ROM? How do you get 10% CC discount?

If u think 2gb ram is sufficient.. then either RN4 2gb+16gb or R3Pro 2gb+16gb..
But if u ask me, RN4 because newer model.. and go straight to 3gb ram (different ±rm50 but more ram and internal space)

Im not sure about this seller. My RN4 mtk was my 1st time buying an ap phone from online, and fortunately it was flawless. Item as advertised; global rom (no bloatwares) + PlayStore + ota updates. To get c'card discount, nd to check daily as Lazada sets a different c'card on different days. Also, if u buy via pc/desktop, only 5%.. only through the lazada app u can get 10% (citibank 15%).

MTK does not throttle and the reason India get SD625 is because MTK is banned in India. Since we have MTK and SD, it is very ridiculous to buy SD version.

So is it wiser to pick the mtk version over the sd version for performance and battery life? Whats the pros and cons of mtk version? I'm not sure as I've never used any phone with mtk proc

Especially 3gb ram with 64gb hardisk. Why would anyone want a slower processor with half the storage at only 32gb at higher price? It's ridiculous.
