Longer Samsung delay the launch, the more I question buying Note 7. Easy glass scratch, phone hangs, exploding batteries, really killing my mood.

stumbled upon this thread while searching for accessories... well done on V4.. took some time to read through.
migrated from S5, PO onyx with no problem till now. phone 2 phone transfer using smartswitch... super easy. all functioning as per normal even after the FW upgrade. Feel for all the bros and sis with the bootloop/hang/spen issues... hope you get your replacements soon..
Using the ORI SP bought from maxis Pavi 2 days back at RM35.10.. think they still have 1 or 2 stock.. no lift-off issue with el-cheapo Baseus Air Case.. Spen with this SP also no issue.. didn't change the tip.. only grouse is the SP & case super fingerprint magnet..
Iris was fast, but fingerprint scanner from what i read has the same issue like my S5, sometimes takboleh scan... give it a good knock and it will work.. seriously... search for S5 fingerprint problems vids and you will know what i mean..
Battery is surprisingly good... full charge 2 days with FB, Chrome, News, online Trading, Istagram and other social medias. No Games. noticed the so called wireless charging is not fast charge as compared to wired. Wired fast charge using free PBank form 29% to 100% in 1 hr. wireless longer than that.. as for the overnight charging, IMHO no problem as i have been charging my S5 for the past 3 years like that and batt still last 1 day.
Private folder same same like S5... this is where all my goddies are kept... LOL..
Best feature on this for me is the heartrate monitor selfie function....
*
the provided PB if not mistaken charges even faster than the travel adapter cos it has an even higher volt + amp rating.. so it's hard to compare PB with wireless charger.

maybe you can try using the PB to power the wireless charger then test.. maybe it will be as fast as wired charging.

Unfortunately, nope. It's the real thing.

I found out that judging a case simply based on personal assumption or other people's view is not good enough. So I went ahead and did my research on my own.

Read the original source (if you can read mandarin or korean).

Korean original source
http://m.ppomppu.co.kr/new/bbs_view.php?id=phone&no=3225308

Chinese source
http://technews.tw/2016/08/25/samsung-note...orea-explosion/

Apparently, the phone was in Korea, bought by a Korean. Confirmed is Note 7. According to the victim, the phone was exploded during charging, using microUSB to USB Type-C cable with original charger. The phone already sent to Korea SC. Initial analysis was the root cause is the battery malfunction. Still not yet confirmed whether its factory malfunction or human error. Anyway, this would be the first explosion case for Note 7.

The news was spreaded through most of the local newspapers in Korea.

I repeat, the exploded phone indeed is Note 7 (Korean version). And yes. Korean version Samsung phones do not have Samsung logo on it.

Ya. I was shocked when i read the news. However, there's s suspicious point in the case. Based on those pics, the user was using microUSB to USB Type-C cable to charge his phone. Now that's interesting. I am not an expert. But may be this is the starting point where all things go wrong. Anyway, the phone sure was exploded. And we still don't know what's the real cause. But for sure, from now on, I won't dare to try to use microUSB to USB Type-C cable to charge my phone. Better be safe rather than sorry. sweat.gif

Most likely yes. But human instinct is like this. You must do all the precaution in order to rule out all the possibilities. As cantonese always say: 有殺錯冇放過! tongue.gif

Feel the same here. Note 7 indeed is a gorgeous phone. No doubt about that. But we have to admit, since the day it launched, all those negative reviews are keep coming in. May be it's time for Samsung to check their fengshui? (Just joking).

i dun think i can recall in recent times of any "perfect" phone/ launch.

every launch event, sure got ppl come out later to say... this no good, that no good.

even after launch and sales starts... more news. this phone explode. that phone explode. this phone cannot hold that way. or even this feature is useless and no one use it, so we dun put that on our phone, etc...

it's all a matter of what you want and expect.

plus, it all comes back to %. if let's say chance of sth exploding is 1 in 10 million. and so happen samsung manages to sell 10 million unit. naturally, one will explode based on stats.

some manufacturers... sell only 5 million units. statistically speaking... they might not have a unit that will explode.

so... wanna hear less bad news... go buy those low key brands. that's one good way not to see bad news headlines about the brand. biggrin.gif
