Because of this, I decided to hold on buying Note 7 and wait until Samsung sort out the issue. So back to my Note 5 and wait and see........

Somehow I feel a bit sad to see that one needs to bear with this kind of problem after spending so much on an expensive gadget. I have not yet buy the Note 7, but I can feel the pain of seeing this scene.

Of course you should surrender the phone to them. Even if they do not tell you to do so, you should insist to give them. Make the agreement with them, word by word, on pen and paper. If you keep the phone, you will never know what will happen in 1-2 weeks while you are waiting for replacement. If you accidentally damage/spoil your phone before the new stock arrive, they may blame you for the root of cause of the whole deal. At the end you may lose out the chance of 1 to 1 exchange. Better don't give them excuse to do that.

A bit of lose is better than stuck inside. If you can accept your wife's note 5 S-Pen, I don't see why you should worry about it. Just my 2 cents.

Ya. The issue is becoming more and more serious now. People have tried various methods and possible solutions. At the end, we came to a conclusion that most likely the first batch is having hardware malfunction. So far, Samsung SC already promised that the victims will get their replacement in 1 - 2 weeks. What you should do now is to go to your nearest SC and show them the problem on spot (if possible), or just convince them that your phone has issue. By now, I think they will approve your request in no time since the news has been spreaded out now.

The vice president of Samsung Malaysia did say that the coral blue version will be released in 2nd phase, which most people interpret it as the time point before end of year.

Unfortunately, nope. It's the real thing.

I found out that judging a case simply based on personal assumption or other people's view is not good enough. So I went ahead and did my research on my own.

Apparently, the phone was in Korea, bought by a Korean. Confirmed is Note 7. According to the victim, the phone was exploded during charging, using microUSB to USB Type-C cable with original charger. The phone already sent to Korea SC. Initial analysis was the root cause is the battery malfunction. Still not yet confirmed whether its factory malfunction or human error. Anyway, this would be the first explosion case for Note 7.

The news was spreaded through most of the local newspapers in Korea.

I repeat, the exploded phone indeed is Note 7 (Korean version). And yes. Korean version Samsung phones do not have Samsung logo on it.

Ya. I was shocked when i read the news. However, there's s suspicious point in the case. Based on those pics, the user was using microUSB to USB Type-C cable to charge his phone. Now that's interesting. I am not an expert. But may be this is the starting point where all things go wrong. Anyway, the phone sure was exploded. And we still don't know what's the real cause. But for sure, from now on, I won't dare to try to use microUSB to USB Type-C cable to charge my phone. Better be safe rather than sorry.

Most likely yes. But human instinct is like this. You must do all the precaution in order to rule out all the possibilities. As cantonese always say: 有殺錯冇放過!

Feel the same here. Note 7 indeed is a gorgeous phone. No doubt about that. But we have to admit, since the day it launched, all those negative reviews are keep coming in. May be it's time for Samsung to check their fengshui? (Just joking).

Of course I know la. It's just that when you spend so much to buy something, you would feel the pain when you keep hearing those bad news. It's all about human emotion and we can't help on it la.

If SC started to reject those 1 to 1 replacement in these few days, that could mean that they might already found the culprit and they know which part to replace. If this is the case, bad news for the people who bought a faulty unit and wishing for a new replacement. But good news for the future buyers.
