Why I still haven't receive OTA update

Hi guys, really need an expert to help me out here.. i've tried few ways to update to miui 8 but still failed:

1. downloaded the Global rom and flash using Updater app. The system read info halfway, reboot my device and theres no flashing interface appear, instead, it reboot to normal interface screen.

2. using Mi Pc Suite to update. dont have any latest update.

3. using the updater app to automatically detect update. No updates at all. i suspect my Updater app isn working at all, when i click "what's new" or "download update package", it says cant connect to network even if i have connection via wifi or data..

4. Flash Global Rom using Mi Pc Suite, system says couldnt flash. Is it because i didnt unlock bootloader?

Now no more saying as 4G+ or 4G LTE Advance, all now simply called 4G. Last time these term is to justify the 4G speed, but it really doesn't matter, it should categorized as LTE category.

3 years ago, most 4G LTE phone already equipped with LTE Cat 3 modem, max speed already can reach 100M, then in the same year, LTE Cat 4 can reach 150M, the latest LTE Cat 6/7 can reach 300M.

But you see, normally our average 4G speed is only up to 10M to 15M, huge improvement over 3.75G which average around 2M, but still far from fully utilize to maximum.

According to Qualcomm official website, this Snapdragon 650 processor is equipped with LTE Cat 7 modem, max speed up to 300M.
But, we still don't have LTE that so high speed at Malaysia.
Last time I test on Singapore sim card at SG can reach 50M+ on my LTE Cat 3 phone, their telco officially launch LTE Advance with LTE Advance phone A.K.A phone with Snapdragon 800 at that time (Samsung Galaxy Note 3, Samsung Galaxy S4 Advance, LG G Flex, LG G2, Sony Xperia Z1, Sony Xperia Z Ultra) , with LTE Cat 4 max speed 150M.

can try superbuy, i bought from them 2 weeks ago. the phone is working very sweet.... hehe...


by the way guys, can i just check, i received OTA notification for V8.0.1.0 LHOMIDG, should be the latest MIUI rom right? should i just update it? any issue with the latest rom? i might afraid of issues can later on cannot revert back to the current rom.

What's ur current firmware version first?
Ur phone might installed unofficial ROM or China ROM with play store install

gemfive is always good place to purchase smartphone/tablet unless 11street offers shocking deals which sometime also cannot beat gemfive good discount

Yeap it's unofficial ROM (or should call vendor ROM) since have 5 number, official firmware only have 4 numbers
Then u need to use edl mode to flash

Hi, is there a proper guide to do this flashing by EDL mode? i could find it from google but myself i also not good in flashing phones, on the safer side i rather rely on tutorials recommended by experts to be safe. thanks...

Yup, no use have the phone can support 300m speed but Malaysia telco I see around 80m speed only
Our device better than those telco...
