I have a problem with my joystick shortcut. I make changes to the shortcut but it will set back to the default setting when I restart my handphone, EVERYTIME i restart my handphone. Is there anyone having the same problem with me. Is this a software problem?? Just bought it last month

i think it's the 3g available icon.

I did mention. I was one of the first to update. I guess my post earlier was overshadowed by some other topic. Anyway, next time I would post more "attractive" banners, heading so that everyone sees it.

Just a general question for K800i users, is there any dislikes so far in using this phone? as in it's size, buttons, functions and all.

Planning on getting one and hope i won't regret..
*
Hmm, honestly, the joystick could still improve but so far so good, depends on how you use it.

The size is ok, N73 is about the same size for similar features phone. functions, sufficient, what you want to use it as? The outlook, well it's subjective.

It's a good buy since the price now is around 1.5k summore. Strongest points are 3G and camera.

Earlier firmware has that bug. What's your firmware? Here's something you could try out.

Set the shortcuts through the settings menu. Off your phone, press the power button once (don't hold it, it will turn off the phone). A menu will appear, shut down, turn on silent, keylock etc will appear.

choose shut down. Once off. Wait awhile and turn it back on. Check whether the shortcut disappears or not. Hope it works for you.

From what I noticed, a shut down and hold power button to turn off phone has different effect. Let's try this and let me know to confirm my theory.

I'm a Nokia convert and so far I have no regrets. However, you have to be prepared to spend sometime to get used to it.

As mentioned by someone else before, the keypad requires a little more force to push, but some sau that its a good thing as possibility of keying in the wrong number or alphabet is minimized.

I had to get used to the layout as well, always press the RIGHT softkey and end up getting a warning message if I want to delete the contact or message instead of going Back. Still need to get used to the Back Key! biggrin.gif

Another thing I just realised - I was typing an SMS and wanted to insert someone's phone number and I realised I can't do that unlike Nokia where you can access the phone book and insert a phone number.

So what I did was to save the SMS as drafts, exit the Messaging, enter Phone Book and copied the phone number, go back into the Messaging menu, edit the saved message and paste the phone number in there.

Quite a lot of steps, is there a shortcut or am I missing something there? tongue.gif I guess the only way now is that if I know I need to send someone's contact number, I can copy it before I start composing the SMS. But that is still several extra steps, unlike Nokia's where you can enter the contact number while typing the SMS itself.

3 weeks of owning the phone and I'm still learning something new! Its like a puzzle!

well, the design pushed me away for this one... Its a lil bit longer and squarish compared to other SE phones... But the camera i must say is one of the best out there...
You gain some, you lose some wink.gif

Well, for my big hands, this phone fits nicely for me, the screen is bigger and the resolution is a tad better than other models. It's normal for the phone to be longer by a bit because it will be silly to use a smaller screen for a 3G and 3.2 megapixel camera phone, right? The bigger screen is just nice for video calls, have tried making a few video calls and I can say that I was kinda impressed with the video quality, not too shabby in my opinion.

It's true but for minor bugs that don't affect the phone's functionality, I can live with that unlike some Nokia models, when they hangs, you need to remove the battery and restart it. Sheeshhh....... doh.gif So far, my K800i didn't hang before, not even once. I'm quite happy with it and battery life is acceptable for this power hungry phone. thumbup.gif

I usually use the scoth brite to clean camera lens.. I guess the usual lens cloth will do.

Finally got my K800i. Stupid posman sent it so late. Hehe. Royale silver (Midland, RM1770 + 64MB) rclxm9.gif

Speaker phone soft meh? Maybe for listening to mp3s but during video calls, it's as loud as a walkie talkie, normally you don't whisper if you're using video calls mah, right? Of course, no privacy lah, imagine if you're bathing half way....... yikes..... doh.gif ............ censored ........

I'm using Meguiars microfibre cloth to clean the lens cover. Yeah....... very easy to kena fingers so if my hp is stolen, it's easy to find my hp because my finger prints are all over it.  laugh.gif

RM1770??? Midland set? Where did you buy it? Expensive lo ........ I can get it at RM1590 (without M2 64mb) for the Casino Royal one (Midland set of course) and for the M2, I can get a M2 512mb at RM130 (from Transcend 2000) so altogether RM1720 only. Still cheaper by RM50 and yeah, still entitled for the free bluetooh headset (promotion extended till end of this month).
