QUOTE(Yapmy @ Jan 26 2007, 03:56 AM)
Its true that i can safely say this here but im actually saying it based on experience. Cuz i actually have a few pics taken by my friend's N73 in my pc and the picture quality is really bad..im actually very disapointed with it as i was considering to get one for myself tongue.gif

Hmm...i dont think a 5MP phone camera is necessary yet. A 3.2MP is already sufficient. What they must do is to further improve the pic and video quality of their phones by reducing the noise and increasing the sharpness as close as they can get to Digi cams. However, if they would to make optical zoom in phones i think the phone might be bulkier than the K800i.
yeah lor...i agree with u. But lucky i dont really record videos instead i rather snap pics tongue.gif. As long as the phone can record video its good enough for me. biggrin.gif
*
That's weird, my friend pulak say N73 takes better pictures than K800i but I told him bluntly that N73 got more bugs than K800i. brows.gif Actually, I don't see the need to take videos with a handphone, if it's that perfect, I guess nobody will buy a camcorder liao and IMHO, K800i is just a thousand plus, we shouldn't expect too much ler, don't forget, last time a Nokia 8210 costs about RM1800 when it was first launched. doh.gif Comparing this to what we have last time, it's a giant leap liao. rclxm9.gif

Well, 5MP phones will be the norm in the future but of course, higher MP, means larger pictures, so indirectly, you'll need to buy a bigger memory card but if for sending pictures out via MMS, we gotta resize them so sometimes, it's pointless to shoot in 5MP unless you wanna view it on your pc or tv. There's one thing I really want, how about an integrated tv tuner whereby we can watch tv programmes on our handphone for free. thumbup.gif

*
Price will surely drop if you can wait longer but don't you think you should buy before CNY? New phone to usher the new year? nod.gif

Have you tried downloading new themes to your phone? See if the icons will go away if you apply the new themes? If it's a yes, then borrow a K800i phone from your friend and copy the themes to your phone and apply them. I'm just suggesting this to you, if it doesn't work, please don't kill me. I'm trying to help, okay? icon_rolleyes.gif

If I'm you, I'll take it back and bring it to another service centre. Yours a Midland set if I'm not mistaken. 2 weeks is a freaking long time to repair a phone. Either take it back or ask them to change a new phone for you.

Sorry to inform you dude, your case is just like mine. Your firmware version is from Europe and if u need chinese, i mean input and reading, you will need to reinstall the whole firmware, like flashing.

Could you take a picture of the icon that you're talking about so that I have a clear picture. Hope you don't mind. Just wanna help you that's all. I'm sure the other sifus here if you have some pictures to show them.

Hmm ..... strange hmm.gif , very seldom I see people with K800i AP sets that have an O2 icon. Your AP set can't support Chinese text, right? Just wondering since you mentioned it's from O2.

yes it cant support chinese text, and i have no other digicam to take the pic with, but the normal and should-be "globe" or "www" icon changed to O2 logo, when i click at it, it straight go to some O2 site in weird language. they changed a total of 2 icon in the menus, both reflecting O2 stuff. 1 is O2 site, another the bookmarks become O2 crap as well.

the menu icons are named "O2 Active" & "O2 Bookmark" both are at the first two icons top left beside the game icon.

That's the trouble with AP sets, you need to ask the seller carefully where the set is from, it came be O2, Vodaphone, Orange or any other telco companies, the logo / icon might look cool to some but when people just glance at your phone, he or she will know that's an AP set. shakehead.gif The trick is to get an AP set but to pretend like an ori set if they're virtually identical. Flashing the firmware is a bit risky, maybe you should contact the distributor or seller to 'kau tim' this for you if the icon thingy is bugging you.

To be honest, CX300 is not available in Malaysia but people that import it into our country are selling at this price range. Warranty, the seller settle for you, he has mentioned it clearly so you no need to worry. rclxms.gif

The internal speaker, ar? It's true, you can do that, it only goes louder but the quality is not as good as the ori speaker, if your main priority is louder and not the sound quality, you can do this minor upgrade but of course, not during your warranty period. After lah. icon_idea.gif
