Good news for legitimate users that Niantic is taking action against bots and cheaters.

First things first, in case your account was permanently terminated wrongfully.
Here's the appeal FAQ. https://support.pokemongo.nianticlabs.com/h...it-a-ban-appeal

Seems there are now account termination and perma bans in addition to soft bans. I hope there aren't too many false positives. Perma bans will probably take some time for Niantic to process. Now would be a good time to report Level 30+ players. I suspect they'll be going after bots first.

What we need to be aware is that use of ANY third party software is in violation of ToS.

https://www.pgnexus.gg/

This site seems to be very popular here and this is also likely to be in violation of ToS as it accesses Niantic's servers to pull data from them.

There are players who use similar 3rd party site like PokeAdvisor already getting permabanned because of this.

This kind of website is not harmful, I'm sure they won't ban you easily because of it. Those who got banned from here probably a botter themselves.

It's not about whether they are harmful or not. They are in violation of ToS, simple as that. There were far simpler 3rd party tools for Ingress like extracting personal game data onto a spreadsheet and people got banned for using them.

Agreed. I don't think Niantic would care what it does. As long as there's 3rd party access to the servers, it'll probably be flagged. What's their criteria for a ban, we won't know.

Yes, apart from waiting for the ban on them, team up with others and attack the same time is the only way.

Niantic probably busy with US, Japan region. Especially with Japan since some gyms there are sponsored by McD. Malaysia is probably at their bottom of their list.

Maybe making a report will help.

These 2 weedles used to be quite prominent in UTAR Sg Long. Haven't seen them the last few days.

Good news:
botting is much harder
many quit botting
the rise of legit players

Bad news:
Ex botter not getting banned , means if the cheater did not bot since yesterday , they get no penalty . Which means their high CP Pokemon still remain, their level still remain .
So do expect to see high CP Pokemon at gyms.

What type of banned niatic is introducing :
Back before this there is a ban call soft banned , if you get this ban you can't loot pokestop however it can be unbanned quickly with spinning 40 times at pokestop.

So yesterday there is 2 new ban wave
1) IP ban, will ban your ip, if one get this ban, just need to wait 4-12 hours for the ban to be lifted. Or simply play around with ip changing ?

2) This is what they call permanent ban , you can't get any of your account data from niatic, meaning you can't login. This is the heaviest ban that all legit players are hoping for and its coming true . Many players got hammered by this .

Be happy that Niatic is taking action guys .
