I just asked tm staff at tmpoint.

This is what I was told:
Unifi AIR cannot be applied, TM will contact you and ask if you want to try it, it will be one month trial, after that if you want to subsribe it will be 2 years contract. Labuan already has 2 people using this unifi air (as in their live stream of streamyx users offered unifi air as pilot programme)

unifi air uses tm’s own 4g/lte, small coverage. If no coverage it will use celcom 3G (celcom didn’t give them 4G to use)

kinda stupid, since most places that doesn’t have unifi fibre also most likely no unifi air 4G coverage.

thanks for the info.

i guess soon people will have some loopholes to do so.

think its more to resolve streamyx users issue rather than unifi. some streamyx users on very old copper might benefit by moving to air instead. but agreed on the coverage areas are still very limited

So speed "upgrade" to 8 Mbps but file hosts, streaming sites and torrent all throttle to kingdom come.

From what I understand on the announcement:

Streamyx
- Existing 8Mbps streamyx rebranded to Unifi Lite... affectively killed off streamyx brand.
- Those stuck on 1Mbps - 4Mbps will be on RM69 as well.
- Bill changes starts on September.

Unifi Air
- Only for certain area for now.
- Using TDD Band 40.
- 20Mbps speed cap with unlimited quota
- 2 years contract, free Huawei B618 (afaik sim locked) modem.

Current Unifi Lite 10Mpbs on RM129
- Bill will change to RM 69.
