how about i3 4170 with asus b85m-g ? still need bios update? if yes, just update it normally? turn on the pc > update bios > done?
*
BIOS version of 2301 is required to run i3 4170, if it doesn't come with 2301 preloaded then you need to update it.

Please proceed to Asus support site to download the BIOS and follow the update instructions.

How big is the casing bero?

Got a comparison picture or something?

Macam the casing and an orange side by side to see how small is it.

When I googled ASRock H110M-ITX, it gave me pictures of graphics cards.

sweat.gif

sweat.gif

You included an SSD there too.

You can read minds wan ahh bero?

rclxm9.gif

rclxm9.gif

Then the graphics card...need until GTX 1080 so hebat or not bero?

I will be using this for 2D and 3D modelling purposes only bero.

No gaming, no video editing, maybe some basic photo editing.

Then the Seagate HDD how many rpm bero?

And the PSU need until 550 W ahh bero???

sweat.gif

sweat.gif
*
Search online for the image of CM Elite 110, I don't have orange to compare, it is one of the smallest mITX cases out there already, if you cannot accept it then I think you need to go for console like mITX casing like Silverstone Milo series.

As for the mobo, please search again, it is a mobo and Google returned the correct image result, or just go to Asrock website to check the specs of the mobo.

As for GPU, GTX1060 is listed in the build list, maybe you misread as GTX1080?

HDD, well it is 7200 RPM, I purposely choose this over WD Blue because WD Blue (> 2TB) is much slower (5400 RPM).

PSU 550W is standard, your system will not draw whole 550W from the wall socket all the time so don't worry on this, it only draws whatever it needs and the limit will be 550W (for true power PSU), why I choose this PSU? Fully modular & reliable PSU at cheap price tag for better cable management in SFF case.

P/S: Please refrain from writing/posting in such way (one sentence in a line), it reduces the readability drastically sweat.gif

I don't seem to be able to open the link bero. Can you give me the model number so that I can google some images to look at?

Besides that Acer monitor, do you have other 27-inch touchscreen options? Cuz I don't really trust Acer lehh, macam banyak problem je.
*
ML02, ML03, ML04, ML05, ML06, ML06-E, ML07, ML08, ML09

Acer monitor is fine, they improved their QC recently, I am using one of their high end Predator series monitors, everything works well till now.

And unfortunately we don't have too much choice to make in Malaysia, the Acer model I mentioned is the only mainstream 27" touchscreen monitor available locally, if you don't mind the size then you can look for Viewsonic TD2420/TD2220, Dell S2240T etc.

Thank you bero!!!

And yea I forgot to include Raven series brows.gif

Google for RVZ01, RVZ02 and report back to me which one you prefer.

Which series is smaller? I don't know why the Silverstone website cannot load here.
*
Depends on the hardware that you are going to put inside the case, if you choose the smallest one, you might have to drop some components, these cases require SFX PSU (more expensive) and with limited amount of clearance, especially HDD/SSD slot.

Milo series cannot fit normal GPU which takes up 2 slots so I have to go with Raven series.

Intel Core i7 6700 - RM 1289
ASRock H110M-ITX - RM 315
Kingston 16GB (8GB x 2) DDR4 2133MHz Value RAM - RM 290
Palit GTX1060 6GB GDDR5 Dual Fan - RM 1249
Kingston SSDNow UV400 240GB SSD - RM 265
Seagate Barracuda 2TB HDD - RM 330
Silverstone SX500 500W - RM 412
Silverstone RVZ02 - RM 349

Total: RM 4499 (ETech price inclusive of GST)

It is a bit tricky to fit the 3.5" HDD in this case, there are 2 ways:
1. Get a shorter card (like Zotac Mini) and put the HDD alongside with the GPU
2. Remove the slim optical drive slot and put the HDD there

I need an optical drive bero. You can't go any smaller than this ahh? I can sacrifice on the GPU. Slightly less powerful also can cuz I won't do any graphics intensive stuffs.
*
Already reached the limit, just get a laptop if you really need super duper small PC.

I am not exactly understand why you need super small PC but square size case like Elite 110 and console alike case like RVZ02 are the borderline that you can get when you need to fit in so many desktop grade hardware in a SFF case.

Remember that everything comes with a price, if you want a more powerful yet cost efficient specs, then you have to choose this path, if you still insist to get super duper small PC, you have to pay more for a branded AIO (still quite big TBH) or laptop (with much lower specs).

Cuz I wanna keep the CPU in a backpack to bring it along with me when I travel. Not convenient to carry a bulky CPU around.

Ok so this build is the best in terms of size liao is it? If I go with a Zotac Mini and an optical drive lehh? How much do I need to top up?
*
RVZ02 can be put in a bag (school bag/laptop bag etc) easily and carry around, monitor might be an issue though if you really go for 27", 24" is already quite hard to carry around with both hands (too heavy).

Intel Core i7 6700 - RM 1289
ASRock H110M-ITX - RM 315
Kingston 16GB (8GB x 2) DDR4 2133MHz Value RAM - RM 290
Zotac GTX1060 6GB GDDR5 Mini - RM 1219
Kingston SSDNow UV400 240GB SSD - RM 265
Seagate Barracuda 2TB HDD - RM 330
Silverstone SX500 500W - RM 412
Silverstone RVZ02 - RM 349

Total: RM 4469 (ETech price inclusive of GST)

Slim Optical Drive - around RM 70+/-

Please make sure the slim optical drive is really a "slim" one, not the usual desktop size optical drive (5.25").

Any idea how heavy is this build ahh?
*
For best price, please PM and ask the seller yourself, either via FB/lelong/LYN. You can also look for other sellers like Techview/DotaTech/Idealtech etc and decide which one to choose based on the quoted price and after sales services.

No idea on the actual weight, estimated to be around 15kg.

Your current casing form factor is?

QUOTE(terence_nwb)
need a quick advice, my zotac gtx 1060 mini temperature can go beyond 70 degree Celsius when I play far cry 4. Temporarily I downloaded Zotac firestorm to increase the fan speed abit proportional to the temperature. Eg. 40-50 degree fan speed at 60%.

Should I get a liquid cooler or this way(increase fan speed) actually works?
*
70°C is fine, you only need to start worrying when the temperature hits 80+.

Just increase the fan curve, it will help to reduce the temperature by few °C.

wow.. not familiar with that.. can u determine based on the current MOBO? the model is asus p7p55 lx.
*
Alright that's ATX.

Intel Core i3 6100 - RM 470
Gigabyte H110M-DS2 (D4) - RM 276
Kingston 8GB DDR4 2133MHz Value RAM - RM 145
Palit GTX950 2GB GDDR5 Dual Fan - RM 635
Corsair VS450 - RM 162

Total: RM 1688 (ETech price inclusive of GST)

I've used a mATX mobo in the build list since your ATX case can fit all 3 form factors, it is more cost efficient since you mentioned prefer to stick with 1.5k biggrin.gif

QUOTE(bb100 @ Aug 31 2016, 07:12 PM)
Hi there again.

For the GPU, is it possible to go one step lower? Cuz those I think those specs are a bit overkill if I don't do gaming.
For the SSD, I only need the minimum storage capacity, cuz I will only use it to boot my PC.
The Silverstone SX500 has to pair with the RVZ02 casing is it? If not, then got other cheaper PSUs you can recommend?

The rest is fine. Thank you!
*
GPU: Yes of course you can, AutoCAD and SolidWorks do use GPU power as hardware accelerator so I was trying to max out your budget and see how far can it go. You can downgrade to the 3GB version (GTX1060, around RM 949) or swap to AMD RX470 4GB (around RM 949 too), or RX460 4GB (around RM 699). More VRAM = more modelling memory storage, thus fasten up the operation.

SSD: Yes you can change to 120GB, but the price between 120GB and 240GB is just RM 100 difference (might be lesser), 240GB is more worth and can store more stuffs (especially those huge assets/files which are known to be slower to load on HDD so SSD is the way to go).

PSU: RVZ02 requires SFX or SFX-L PSU, SFX is more preferred because it is smaller and you can have more space for better cable management. SFX and SFX-L PSU is more expensive than the standard ATX PSU.

Thanks for the recommendations! I will review those few GPUs listed. By the way, that CUDA thingy is only available for GeForce GPUs right bero?

Yup

hmm.. i m actually asking this on behalf of my friend, so his actual rig info i gotta dig more.. all i know is, he is currently on i3 and gtx650, so with your recommendation, isn't it roughly the same with just slight improvement?
*
That's 2nd gen i3 vs 6th gen i3, improvement is estimated to be around 30%.

And for GPU, GTX950 is around 50% faster than GTX650(Ti).

Your budget is limiting you (or your friend, whatever) from getting a better specs.

QUOTE(LiarLiar @ Aug 31 2016, 09:56 PM)
budget: RM 1399(PS4 price)
usage: gaming ( current-gen quality)
need: mini mobo(mATX or mITX)
note: excluding HDD & casing.
*
Current gen quality? What settings you are aiming to play?

Don't expect 1.4k can build any decent PC gaming rig, mostly can fit a duo core G4400 and GTX750/750Ti only with this budget.

current gen quality = ps4 default settings.
so, 'm better off buying a ps4 for gaming?
*
Developers are able to access to console low level graphics API so performance is expected will be better than low end PC, the drawback of going for console path is that you cannot adjust the graphics settings (99% of the game, some allow though), locked 30 FPS, 900p sometimes and so forth.

If you plan or have the budget to upgrade the PC then I suggest you to get PC instead.

I don't own any console, so I am not sure about the exact price tag of current gen console, but I heard that you need to buy a pass to enable multiplayer content, I am not entirely sure on this though, please check it our yourself smile.gif

If bump to 2k, you can either upgrade the i3 to i5 or GTX950 to something more decent only, if you can add in 200 more then you can upgrade both.

Intel Core i5 6402P - RM 707
Gigabyte H110M-DS2 (D4) - RM 276
Kingston 8GB DDR4 2133MHz Value RAM - RM 145
PowerColor RX470 4GB GDDR5 Red Devil - RM 899
FSP Hexa+ 550W - RM 188

Upgrading from 3rd gen i5? It is not worth IMO, the performance is gain is too small sweat.gif

alright will propose this to my friend. Thanks alot terence! had a lil of read up, the gtx950 seems to be on par or slightly inferior compared to my 3 years ago 7870XT , might ask him to opt for RX460-470 if budget permits as Nvidia's seems to be slightly pricier spec vs spec.
*
7870XT is on par/slightly faster than GTX950.

The cheapest or lowest end Nvidia Pascal lineup is GTX1060 3GB currently, packing the performance of GTX970 at price tag of RM 9xx.
