Drop the i7 to i5 6500 and get 16GB RAM But I will stick with this build, 8GB RAM is suffice for now and can be upgraded to 16GB later when needed unlike changing CPU which requires some extra efforts, like selling off the current one which can be a headache sometimes. |

Ive done many researches on google including many websites, yet they only solve 70% of my preference. so, what do u guys think? Why GTX970 and RX480 in comparison? It should be GTX1060 vs RX480, the GTX970 is out of the league already. |

QUOTE(DesktopLimousine @ Aug 24 2016, 11:44 AM) GTX1060 is on par (or slightly faster) with GTX980 currently, so no point getting the older GTX970 if you have enough budget for GTX1060.GTX1060 leads in DX11/OpenCL gaming now while RX480 performs better with DX12/Vulkan, both have pros and cons, but GTX1060 can be as low as RM 1219 (if you buy via Lazada/GemFive coupon code then it can be even lower), so your call here, RX480 could be the best buy if it is priced correctly locally but AMD MY seems to be adding more nails in their coffin by pricing the card at such price tag |

QUOTE(nadeng1987 @ Aug 24 2016, 12:20 PM) Need urgent help from old timers here!!! Intel Core i3 6100 - RM 480I gotta buy a freaking desktop for my boss's son birthday tonight and i'm so out of time. I have 2k in my possession now to spend for the desktop. Monitor and peripherals are already taken care of. Just the CPU unit. Again, i need a rig recommendation and budget is 2k. P/s: I think the ungrateful kid said to me he plays world of warcraft and cs most of the time. Like 70% 1060 has win over rx480 from those benchmarks I saw on google. How about if I save more bucks to get 1070? Or 480 CF? 1060 Sli maybe? Yea that's because most of the games are still using DX11/OpenCL API currently, only few titles like Hitman 2016 and Doom are using DX12 and Vulkan API.If you get RX480 then it will be more future proof, probably in 2 years time and you will see it starts shining when DX12 and Vulkan take over as the main API for PC games. If you can save more and get GTX1070, then of course it will be much better, there isn't any competitor from AMD side yet for high end GPU until Vega arrives later this year or early next year. Always go for a better single high end card instead of running multiple mid-range cards, CF/SLI issues are still there and it is not always up to the performance that we are hoping to get (bad scaling, no multiple card support etc). |

Psu review for corsair rm750x Cons* Choice of capacitors in the secondary side The fan engages rather late Limited functionality of the Corsair Link software because the PSU isn't digitally controlled 3.3V performance in Advanced Transient Response tests Corsair Digital Bridge not in the bundle, but including it would raise the price .. Is it really matter? Kinda newbie on this. There is no PSU that can beat the Superflower Leadex Gold at RM 409 (or within the similar price range) at the moment, it is a tier 1 PSU. CM V series is also under tier 1 but it requires you to make some top up, V550S/VS650S is semi modular and V650 is fully modular, go for fully modular unit if you aim to change the PSU cables to white cable mod for your white color theme. |

QUOTE(PsychoHDxMachine @ Aug 25 2016, 10:28 PM) If i chose Seasonic M12-II 750W PSU? Will it be sufficient? overall performance? Just FYI, the whole system draw for the specs listed is around 400W (max), average around 300W when gaming so getting a 750W will be a little bit overkill.the price kinda attractive as well. terence_nwb Back to the topic, in overall the Seasonic PSU model listed by you is ok and enough for the specs listed. |

QUOTE(Leon be here now @ Aug 26 2016, 10:50 PM) Intel Unveils The 600P M.2 SSD Series; Priced From RM277 That one is sequential read and it is not representing the whole thing, we still have to see the 4K random read/write speed which we deal quite a lot daily, but overall the specs is fine, hopefully the price is fine too when it reaches here.https://www.lowyat.net/2016/112775/intel-un...ced-from-rm277/ WOW the 256gb version is fast 1570mbps and affordable RM420 Terrance does that mean if i have a laptop that supports m.2 it can handle those speeds. what about the cheapest skylake mobo that have m.2? is there an adapter to connect m.2 ssd to mobo and can handle fast speeds? how much adapter? Some compatible mobo require BIOS update, some don't, some can use M.2 SSD as boot disk, some don't, so need to check the compatibility first before buying it, so far there are few B150 chipset mobo which come with M.2 PCIe SSD support, price starts from RM 350+/-. If the chipset is supported then most likely it will be able to run this SSD, this applies to both laptop and desktop. This post has been edited by terence_nwb: Aug 27 2016, 01:15 AM |
