now i'm in dilemma for GPU.

RX480 or GTX1060.

got budget for both but i dont want an overkill GPU coz im not gaming alot. but when i do, i expect a smooth experience.
probably playing DOTA,Witcher 3,Batman Arkham series,Metro,Dragonball Xenoverse..
expect at least i can play game without hiccup for another 2years.
GTX1060 is much higher priced compared to RX480. but i saw some version that are below RM1300, is it better than RX480?
coz ASUS GTX1060 can go up to rm1.8k

Well TBH Palit and Zotac GTX1060 are cheaper than RX480 reference card, just don't look at Asus ridiculous pricing on their Strix series sweat.gif

RX480 aftermarket version, i.e. Sapphire Nitro+, PowerColor Red Devil both cost around RM 1450, GTX1060 Gigabyte G1 and EVGA and MSI Gaming are all around the same price too.

I suggest you to get RX470 instead if you want to save money, the performance is extremely/very close to RX480 in most of the games, 4GB version costs RM 989.

GTX1060 performs better in DX11/OpenCL titles while RX480 excels in DX12/Vulkan titles, both have pros and cons.

so getting RX470 is much worth it compare to entry level 1060? Zotac 1219, Palit 1060 1249? hmm.gif

Look for Lazada/GemFive coupon code, you can get discount up to RM 250 with item > RM 1250, so you might end up buying the card at just slightly above 1k, I have seen few people bought their GTX1060 (Zotac Mini and Palit Dual Fan) at just RM 10xx 2 weeks ago.

If you want to get at retail shop (cash and carry), then RX 470 4GB is more budget friendly for those with limited budget (< 1k) or looking for cheap performance card.

You get what you pay for, so technically RX470 won't be able to beat GTX1060 in terms of raw performance, including the entry level one (level doesn't really matter since entry level is still having same GP106 chipset, only the clock speed and cooling solution aren't the same compared to high end model), it is all about your budget, if got budget and willing to spend extra for it then go ahead.

there is currently a 25% off coupon in gemfive, max discount Rm200, min purchace i think its RM300
code 25scb
condition = only be used on standard charted cards.

maybe you can find a RM800 rx470 or a RM1000 gtx1060

there was a wrong listed yesterday someone manage to get a 2tb Toshiba portable 2.5" usb3 for RM200 after glitch price and bank discount, he got 3 units. not sure if it was canceled.

----update - the items got voided, well that was expected. The old lazada would had honored the purchase, and even if they void the order, they would had given user a sorry voucher RM30-50

[Budget] most cost efficient, although ard 2k or below would be nice

[Purpose] only for games such as d2/csgo, wont be playing AAA titles that require more hardcore specs

[Hardwares that will be re-use] nope

[Monitor resolution] 1080p

[Games & softwares that use frequently] dota2 and csgo only

[Location] selangor/KL

just need a rig that can run d2 and csgo with high framerates + smooth gameplay, i'll be getting a new rig in a year and a half so this will only be just temporary.

For 9xx series, ASync compute in DX12 is not explicitly turned on in the driver level, we don't know if this feature is completely absent in 9xx series or not but Nvidia said they were working at it since this fiasco came out last year. For now, Nvidia simply tells the GPU (9xx series) to ignore all ASync compute instructions so that's why 9xx series doesn't show any gain from DX12 at the moment. For 10 series, ASync compute is indeed there and working well, just the performance gain is not that much or significant compared to AMD side, the gain is around 10% on Nvidia side versus AMD's 25% (average).

As for Vulkan, Nvidia added the support in driver level since Feb 2016 and the only games (stable one) that is using this API is DOOM 2016, there is another one in beta branch which is Dota 2. Vulkan roots to AMD's Mantle API, so we can expect AMD card to benefit more when this API is being used, the "true" ASync compute in Vulkan also brings improvement to AMD card, this feature is not enabled in Nvidia card yet according to the developer (id Software), proper support will be added later on.

Yeah, i saw Palit 1060 Jetstream priced 1349 become RM1149 after discount.
However there was no Radeon card available.
Just that i wonder anybody have experienced warranty/rma claim after buying using lazada/gemfive.
if there is RX470 sub 800 or rx480 sub 1k, i will definitely will buy it.
but if there is none available, might as well pay extra for gtx1060 at 1149.

You have to deal with the 3rd party seller, not Lazada nor GemFive because they are just a platform for the sellers to sell their stuffs, unless it is stated "Sold and fulfilled by Lazada/GemFive".

Occassin/Techview/TMT are the example of the sellers, you can claim the warranty from them instead of going through Lazada/GemFive when needed.

You can find coupon code in Kopitiam section, there are 2 dedicated threads for Lazada and GemFive discussion.

There is a loophole, if you cant find a listing brows.gif brows.gif

Pretty sure this violates the gemfive (platform) conditions for both seller and buyer, but as long as both parties seller and buyer agree before hand, gemfive does not need to know, and make sure you pick a reputable seller

i have heard people buy a item at similar price and get an exchange later on successfully
Its kind of like buying a store credit in advance to utilize coupon discount, then use the full credit to buy something else.
eg in gemfive buy RM1000 item use -RM200 coupon, pay RM800. Go to store say you got RM1000 credit and use it.

i tried to do this when they had that 30% voucher to buy some nice speakers, but in the mids of extended nego time due to hari raya and stock check, the voucher expired sleep.gif
vendor = GAMEHYPERMART is open to the idea. some other power tools hardware shops also cthardvare or colora etc......
their comments are = putting listings on gemfive is harder/longer then lazada/11street, strict verification process....

1)You must contact seller in advance, eg find they shop name and google it, the popular ones are on 11street, lelong, lazada too usually with the same name, once you find the company look at their listings on other platform, they usually have a full listings.
sometimes they use a different company name, (see below for details on retailer names)
2)once you contact them say you want to purchase rx470 but no listing in gemfive, ask them very nicely to buy something they have listing on gemfive that is similar in price. then pay the difference to the acc directly, dont ask for a refund as its a hassle for them.

look in the Gemfive thread, read 1st page for more useful details on retailer names and discount coupons
https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/3995400/+1220&#entry81272116
the lazada thread one is not as popular now due to stingy coupons
https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/3947829/+1980&#entry81269765

few months back i got a k70 mechanical keyboard from GAMEHYPERMART use that 30% voucher, later contact them and say i want to swap to a slightly different model, blue to brown switches instead, the listing was same price, they where ok about it.

Play all the games in next 3 years? Too ambitious to say that now, games requirements are changing almost every year, if you don't mind playing at slightly lower graphics settings in return for better FPS then it should be fine.

Intel Core i5 6402P - RM 707
Gigabyte H110M-DS2 (D4) - RM 276
Kingston 8GB DDR4 2133MHz Value RAM - RM 147
Sapphire RX 470 4GB GDDR5 Nitro+ - RM 989
WD Blue 1TB HDD - RM 209
FSP Hexa+ 550W - RM 188
Armageddon T1x - RM 95

Total: RM 2611 (ETech price inclusive of GST)

If you cannot make the top up at all, then you have to stick with last gen R9 380/GTX960, I suggest you to top up for it instead since you are aiming to get a rig which can last you for the next 3 years.

Need a suggestion for RM5k-5.3k PC. Usually will use for gaming, prefer skylake build i7 6700k with RX480 and samsung EVO 128GB (PRO if possible), also MICRO-ATX build.

These are not included :
