I am still thinking if i should just keep my 10 years old Iswara, or buy aother car. and i still have to decide to get a brand new Myvi, or a secondhand Toyota within the same price range. Any suggestion? And which bank offer the best package for loan now?

2 be honest, u really cant get much 4 ur old iswara.. as u probably know, the 2nd hand market is really bad these days, especially 4 proton cars.. the market price 4 ur car is bout under 10k.. some people r even selling theirs at under 8k!! so my advice is, juz keep the iswara.. n if u wanna buy the myvi, juz buy it.. keep 2 cars..

My Iswara just started to behave, have to spend money to replace some part once every few months, fed up with it. last year l check i can still sell it for 11 to 12K, now only 6 to 7K. If i dont sell it its going to be worthless next 2 years. Just bought a house, otherwise got money to buy a new Vios or even a new Camry. cry.gif

have ur car properly checked by trustworthy mechanic. Don't buy new car just for the sake of changing car. Having to pay both car loan and house loan at the same time will really burden you.

keep the iswara and get another car. at least you got one old car to do your dirty work.
dirty work as in go play field football and you have mud all over esp when it rains, futsal, wet market shopping, carry stuffs etc etc.

i got toyota corolla seg 1.6 and myvi (auto).

obviously toyota is a better car , more powerful, better handling, comfortable and most important the fuel consumption is about the same as myvi.
maintenance depend on the condition. generally i found that toyota's part is more "durable" compare to proton (even new car).
iswara no need to compare la.

if u cant affort to lose money, stick to your old car and wait until the car price stable. but bare in mind, u buy cheap, u sell your car also cheap. no point to keep 2 cars unless u got somebody 12 use.

Becuase the money spent to maintain an old car is worthless sometimes. There is going to cost a lot of money if i want to restore it back to its tip toe condition, especially those engine's parts.

ur're right a 10year old isware needs to be take care, changing small-small parts all the time, and u'll feel not worth to maintain the car?
tongue.gif
can the car still run long distances...?
any major breakdown or serious problem like rusty...?
if it is a minor parts replacement, better off use back the car...
or any of ur family member needs a ride...?

Are you kidding, my 6-year old Iswara was traded-in for 9.5K only late last year. Called up many dealers, all same price. 11k before inspection, 9.5k after inspection.

well, if u think u wanna sell it, juz go ahead then.. but do bear in mind, besides the very low resale value, the 2nd hand market is full wit iswara's, wit better condition or newer, selling at bout the same price too..

this is not 2 pull u down or make u feel bad or anythin.. its juz facts of the 2nd hand market these days..

juz try ask around.. see if u can sell at a good price.. if u get somewhere around 10k, id say juz let go.. thats a good deal already..

Ok i decide to keep it, get a quot for 1K to spray back with 2K white paint, then need to see what else need to be change to make it regain some power back. Darn last year my original carburetor and regulator got stolen and have to spent 1.2K to replace it with parts from chop shop, and since then its performance had been suffer. So Iswara owner beware, your parts will still be stolen even if its a 10 years old car.

BTW, need u guys suggestion in what to do to make my Iswara more powerfull, well slitly powerful then tongue.gif . Now when i go beyond 120km/h the whole car will be shaking already. Thinking of changing the whole engine, what do u think?

Whole car shaking at that speed is due to aerodynamics, which is a bit hard to improve.
Engine power easily improved by improving the intake system. There's a pinned thread about it, read it to get some idea. Change whole engine to a newer one also can. A newer engine would give you a bit more reliabillity.

Pls bear in mind ur car started to aged, so parts may wear off pretty soon. Although parts can be easily sourced due that this is a popular model, if u have the money to buy a new car, why not?

But expect a poor 2nd hand value, at less than 10k due that this is an old car and the 2nd market is pretty overcrowded for this model.

So if u want to buy a new car, what ur budget?

Wah, in that case i suggest u better off buying a new car instead. keeping ur car and modding it may need u to learnt how to mod cars, which is a hefty process unless u have passion on cars.
