Onexox to umobile
The price shown is definitely bullshit.
I just made my first phone call after MNP to onexox and almost rm1 deducted for 3 mins call.

You can also check your call cost in XOX Self Portal (https://selfcare.xox.com.my/).. updated in 2-3days

OneXOX rates are multilevel. Depends on DA/MA balances ...

I can imagine the scenario ... Someone just mnp to onexox, it comes with RM5 credit in MA and starts making a call to an off-net number for 3 minutes and 31 seconds. The MA rate for off-net calls is 12sen/30seconds block. This translates to 8 (30 secs) blocks x 12sen totalling 96 sen.

In comparison, the same 3 mins 31 secs call to off-net with DA balance would cost (8 blocks x 9 sen) 72 sen. While an on-net call (with DA balance) for 3 mins 31 secs would be ((4 x 7) + (4 x 8)) = 60 sen.

Looking at FnF (limited to 10 numbers) rate, a 3 mins 31 secs call would cost (8 blocks x 6 sen) 48 sen.

To be fair, oneXOX MA rate is equivalent to existing prepaid plans from Big 3 telcos of 12sen/30sec block. The Big 3 telcos appears to have standardized the rates at 24sen/minute calls and 12sen per sms.

The cheapest prepaid rate to all networks is still Umobile power prepaid at 6sen/30secs block (but coverage may be an issue to some). Second cheapest would be SpeakOUT at 8sen/30secs block. Third would be Umobile older "new" prepaid plan at 10sen/30secs block. All plans mentioned is still available now.

Has anyone noticed that Umobile has quietly revised their rates from 5sen/30secs to 6sen/30secs now? ..... Let's see how long can they maintain that position before revising upwards again .....

I am more positively inclined to onexox ever since they start offering extended validity and season pass. It is a good move and I believe that the next progression would be to just consolidate the DA/MA rates into one very competitive calling/sms rates. Forget about 5sen for 1st 10 secs ..... I already tried making under 10 secs calls which fails miserably most of the time.

On average... 1/3 of my calls every months falls within the 10secs block...
It depends on the person, I think... smile.gif

And btw... hangs up around 7-8secs when making calls as the counter (on the server) are still ticking for ~1-3 secs before the calls are completely disconnected...

Season pass data will valid until 28 months

Season pass is place to store data

In order to use the season pass, need to subscribe to any standard internet package which mostly valid for 30 days

So in another words, data season pass + standard internet package is actually more expensive monthly? Can quote some example with RM for 1 GB here?
*
After you've bought a Season Pass package, it will be valid as long as your OneXOX line.

In order to draw data for usage during this period, you just have to subscribe to a Mobile Internet pass. The data will be drawn from your Season Pass and you'll not be charged (again) for that.

Therefore, only pay when you buy the Season Pass, don't need to pay again when you draw the data to use later.

Means monthly data promo RM 28 per month. 1.5GB.
Season pass is RM 109.90 for 8GB. For your season pass to work, you need to pay RM 28 per month?
*
Buy season pass 8GB = RM109.90 (1GB +- RM13.70)

In order to use the season pass quota, need to buy any standard data plan (1.5GB is promo plan)

Eg: want to use 1GB from season pass, just buy 1GB standard data plan

Then 1GB will be deducted from season pass quota, no credit will be deducted

If not buy any standard data plan, the season pass will remain following credit validity which can last until 28 months

Fyi 1GB standard data plan is RM38

Got season pass happy hour every thursday

Like I said already, it's too complicated. That's the only reasonable conclusion when you see how many questions have to be asked and we are still half clueless.

Having to buy a standard package, without paying for it, in order to use something else we did pay for, is just bizarre.

The Season Pass is actually quite easy to understand.

Just think about making a big deposit (buy a Season Pass package) into your bank account (your OneXOX prepaid account). When you want to make withdrawals of smaller amounts, just use the same method as anyone who wants to use data - subscribe to the appropriate Mobile Internet/Data pass. The only difference is that you won't have to pay (again) for the (data) withdrawal.

I THINK OneXOX is just using an existing platform (as in the Mobile Internet/Data passes here) to work with the Season Pass feature.

Pretty straightforward, I feel, otherwise can always ask adiwarna here if you're unsure about anything. If you don't keep an open mind to understand something new, it'll just remain complicated if you choose to feel this way. icon_rolleyes.gif

Up to this point, I feel OneXOX listens to what users hope for. When I first got my SIM card, it's only for the 28-month validity. I thought then that their data packages were more expensive, but they started giving extras after. I was also hoping for Season Pass after looking through the XOX website, and it happened. Then we were wondering what's going to happen after the 28-month validity, and then they started having 6-month and 1-year validity extension. Which other prepaid card makes your data available for as long as your line? Not forgetting also that any subsequent top up you make will extend the validity even further, instead of just overlapping like the others?

Or choose whichever prepaid makes you comfortable. nod.gif

@RDoe

Thanks for the explanation. I think your bank account analogy may be simplifying it. Probably, because of my closed mind.

If I withdraw money from my account, I can spend it whenever I like.

Under the Season Pass, is not the data quota withdrawn subject to the validity of the standard package by which it was retrieved?

Anyway, I used UM and DG for data currently, that is enough rules and tnc to fill my mind.

Incidentally, last time DG had something called Store Reload (sic, Stored Reload would have been a better name), where you could topup today, but activate later when you need it. Not sure if it still exists, think there was not much user take up. It seems to be a similar concept to Season Pass except it is for top up instead of data.

Cheers

Another example of MVNO that offer limitless data usage validity is Buzzme. Have a look at them.

- Yes, so what I do at present is to see how long I need the data, then subscribe from there. At least with Season Pass I can subscribe to an estimated amount I think I'll need, then subsequently not have to worry about not having enough credit for said uses.   smile.gif

Anyway, I used UM and DG for data currently, that is enough rules and tnc to fill my mind.
- Too many changes from these cards lately that I've lost track of what's going on. Only know I've a UM card that gives double validity for topping up, while the DG ones I hardly use these days except for IIDIC. blush.gif

Anyway, there's no best card out there so we just use whatever we're comfortable with. Cheers! smile.gif
