Just activated IX-22 and activated 5G using SMS but still not seeing 5G on my Android phone. My mom is also using XOX and has 5G in her iPhone. I checked the specs of my phone, it supports 28 and 78. I also can see other telcos 5G on this phone.

So, I already received SMS that MSISDN is already provisioned for 5G service. How long will it be activated? I changed the APN also from celcom3g to xox5g. I called CS as I am also having issues with the app sign up and mentioned to him about this 5G issue, he said he can see it is already activated for my case.

Add on: Managed to get 5G on my router.

If straightaway put in router without activate using sms, can get 5G?

To be honest, I didn't try. My first guess is yes, should be 5G activated.

everytime activating new number or port in must activate the 5g 1 time

lets say port out and port in back need to activate 5g again

changing plan doesnt affect the 5g activation status

my new ix-22 sim pack got 5g on both my android and iphone right after activation, the weird thing is on my android, i can't make/recieve calls and sms but data works.

calls and sms and data works on my iphone without issue.

There are router which can send sms using web interface, this one can use to send 5G activation sms right?

If new sim pack like my case, I guess it is already activated with 5G by default but I was just doing an additional step.

You can always pop in a phone to send that SMS or just call CS to activate for you.

My 1X-18 new SIM displays 4G data connection immediately on activation.

Then select 5G connection on network selection, it's still showing 4G.

After sending SMS to '5G ON' to 22777, Telco reply came back saying 'Your 5G is now activated!'

Voila, 5G data connection signage came on, as expected.

Just submitted MNP from Digi for another two numbers for 1X-22. They are used by the teenagers in our family.

As for me, I got a new number for 1X-22 and chose it from the website. The good thing is that I used a dealer's link I found on Shopee, and he seems nice. I activated myself using the app so I don't need to give my IC copy to a stranger. In addition, he gave me a free one-month subscription by crediting RM 22 into my XOX account once it is activated. He mentioned he will still give one month free for MNP cases too.

Now waiting for the MNP SIMs to arrive. It only took two days for my case to get the SIM card from XOX.

care to share the name of the dealer? how much did you pay for each line?

If it’s 5G then no issue, it’s almost the same speed across all telcos. I’m using it for backup only in the modem as I’m currently using U Home 5G. It’s RM 72 with SST but overkill for a backup line as we have UniFi 500Mbps at home, it’s for my mom to use it when she goes back to our hometown once a month. So 100GB is more than enough and I can save RM 50 per month. I tested the speed it’s the same speed as U Mobile 5G more than 400Mbps.

I found from Shopee and he’s charging RM 18 (RM 16.20 with voucher) with free one month but need to go through him for registration. I applied via his dealer link on XOX and paid RM 32 - RM 10 (SIM card)+22 (first month). Then he will transfer another RM 22 to use for second month. The good thing is I will register and activate myself. It’s more expensive than buying from Shopee but my personal details are more important.

If MNP is RM 10. Choose plan only after successful MNP.

I’m not affiliated with him ya, I don’t even know him, just randomly found on Shopee while I was looking for a number.

Now onexox force theirs dealers to do activations (KPI) in order to eligible for the monthly commissions.

Amount of activations depends on how much commissions they get the previous month.

Now onexox make 2 months offer for KPI starting from 1/7/2025 to 31/8/2025 for dealers with cheaper data plan counted as 1 activation.

Many are giving FREE 1st month data plan for prepaid and B50 plan for postpaid to gain activations to achived their KPI and then terminate 1 months later by some users.

No wonder but it’s still a win-win case for the users.

Yes,definitely cause users can terminate anytime if not needed after 1 month for prepaid users or just let it terminated itself after 4 months.

Black B50(Postpaid) users have to call c.s. at 12273 to terminate BEFORE 30 days to avoid extra bill payment.

for the best value, we should get a new line every month and throw away once finished using. by this way, we need to spend a mere rm16+ per month for 100gb and at the same time help the dealers.
