The other thing is, some airports separate arriving from departure areas....and the lounges are in the departure area...so you will not be able to use the lounges in Taoyuan, Brisbane, Sydney, Dubai, Atatürk, etc....

Malaysian airports are lax in this....they never check your tags....I suppose it is not a prevalent problem....

In Indonesia, they actually will check your luggage tags with your studs on your boarding pass....

I don't think I will do this at klia....but I have done this at Changi....not to eat, but did some shopping on arrival....by the time I got to the carousel, the bags were all gone....just pick them up at the lost luggage centre...

Not sure how this will work....in the era of terrorism....

So Penang separates international arrivals from departures....

Only klia and klia2 have international arrivals and departures not separated....

Just curious, how to check many free PPL entry left on my MBB VI?

Will PPL counter tell me whether that entry is chargeable or free?
*
Keep track yourself....you can call SC to check...but they don't always get it right....

When maybank downgraded their perks earlier this year, I had used entry twice, but using a supplementary card...which should not count into the principal quota...they tell me I have used twice.... but I had to explain it was with the supp card....only when they checked the details then they agreed I still have the full 5 entry quota this year....

ppl klia have never asked for boarding pass so far....

ppl changi will ask for pass, and scan it....

pp entry all over the world always ask for boarding pass and passport...

so i think it varies depending on the airports and respective ppl policy....

I have a question: If I arrived at KLIA2 around midnight but my flight (international) is only at 8am, am I allowed to enter into the departure area (after immigration)? How do I check in my luggage? If I'm not mistaken, check in counter usually only open 3hrs before flight, does this mean I have to wait until at least 5am only I can enter?
*
there is no early check in for aa....counters only open 3 hrs before flight....so you will have to wait...

the good news is that klia2 has a landside ppl at gateway, so you can go there and wait till check in time....then after check in, you can go into the airside and use ppl or wellness spa again...

guys quick one...KLIA for domestic flight ..is there any place i can chill ? PPL, fight club etc?

is it all under international departure only?

thanks
*
No public access lounge in klia domestic....a very obvious gap in ppl's operations...

Unless you have plenty of time and willing to take the train to klia2...

thanks for the update...in that case might just go klia2 first and from there only take train to klia..

if i am not wrong rm2 for the train right? any idea frequency of train?
*
Rm2....should be a train every 10 min during peak and 15min off peak....can take either express or transit....but unlike in klia, they depart from different areas... schedule is fixed and punctual, so you can check on line or with the counter and decide on a train to take....

Probably Green Market if the staff don't ask for boarding pass which they don't most of the time.
*
Green Market just for food ...never ask for boarding pass... otherwise not a comfortable or quiet place to rest....the chit says 3 hrs at ppl....I was tempted to ask if we can adjourn to gateway ppl after the meal....lol

irrespective, it's totally FOC for life.
I got myself 4 cards in total from them.

was also surprised that they have buy 1 free 1 deals on fridays for krispy kreme and wendys.
kekeke.
*
Yes it's free for life...but no point if perks are difficult....low points for local use, and need to use card overseas for lounge entitlement....

If they make it permanent, I may consider....

No longer needed, at least until end of this year. Next year, don't know if they still continue.

Hence my comments lah....if they make the unlimited entry without spending conditions permanent, I might consider....

Update on TPE ppl....

T1 lounge is quite nice....and while there is no toilet or shower within the lounge, they have commandeered the area next to it, and use the toilets and showers there as theirs..... locked and you need to take the key and amenities basket from the front desk, leaving your boarding pass as 'hostage'...

That area is now still open to public, but from the design, I think it's a reserve area for future expansion...

Got beer and white and red wines....

I actually used the showers, its actually quite good, better than the rundown showers in KUL's Golden Lounge.

Food wise when i was there, was not plenty but was pretty good.
*
the shower looks new, and obviously recently renovated....follows the standard design of showers in other ppls and wellness spas...

the food menu provides both the usual buffet of 3-4 dishes, as well as special ala carte menu...

the showers in the domestic golden lounge at klia is dismal and run down...they need to seriously renovate some of their facilities....
