I'm looking for this. Would you recommend any Omega models which is similar to this?

Thanks

There is the Speedmaster line if you are into chronographs.

But a true skeleton watch is not currently available in the Omega catalogue, I believe.

Anyways, that is a really nice Tag. I won’t mind buying one for myself.

You can find a cheap Invicta model for most of the famous brands. Rolex subs looks like the cheap 8926ob, I don't see people disregard Rolex as a serious brand.

Tag's reputation comes from some misguided marketing that compromises their standing. Any collectors that don't regard Heuer Autavia with respect is not worth bothering about.

gotta agree on this, it will be a but hard to tell time at a glance, gotta really look at the watch
*
Yup. Tag can be a serious brand. It’s just some misguided collectors who dismiss Tag. Probably the same bunch who brush Rolex off as just another mass produce watch.

The Autavia and Monaco are to Tag what Submariner and Speedmaster are to Rolex and Omega respectively. It’s their most iconic designs.

Now if you want to disrespect Hublot however, you don’t see many collectors defending the brand..

did I disrespect Tag? all I wanna express is that the Tag in attached photo is a bit hard to tell time

Hey buddy. It may be a typo. I seriously can’t remember why I include your post in my reply.

Sorry about it.

Any place I can get a watch box with a glass top for 6 watches?

I have consolidated my collection again and now only have 6 watches. Sold/gave away two watches so now my 8 watch box looks redundant.

Ps - looking back. I went from 14 watches and shaved it down to 10. Then 8. And now 6. Hopefully, before 2018 is up, I can consolidate my collection further.

Depending how nice you want it. Mine comes for a local fella, very nice wooden box but cushion bit tight.
*
My current box is around RM900 only. It is also made of wood but in high glossy black lacquer.

Don’t mind paying more if his quality is better.

The cushion on mine has two levels of adjustment but even without taking out the outer layer, the cushion fits my watches fine.

Planning to get a Longines watch soon. Can anyone advise what is the maximum discount AD would give?
*
It’s 10% nowadays. Swatch group have really tightened up their distribution channels.

If you have purchased zero watches from the AD before this, expect also 0% discount. Swatch group is going around taking away distributorship from any AD who is giving excessive discounts. So, they will not sell you at a good price unless you are already a regular customer.

My first few watches I have purchased from my AD was at MSRP. It was after my AD started feeling comfortable with me, that I started to get discounts as good as grey market.

So, my advice is to buy watches from the same AD and build up a relationship.

guy anyone know where to sell my watch (mid range staff) ? (pls forget abt malaysiawatch forum).
*
Which mid-range brand?

Tag Heuer?

It’s better to just throw the watch inside your drawer and keep it there. If you do sell it, it would go for pennies to the dollar. Not worth the trouble and time to sell the watch.

For example, a Ball watch bought new for RM7k; will go for RM3k in the preowned market if it is complete with box and papers. If it is only the watch alone, expect to get less than RM2k..

Like I said. Not worth the hassle.

Try Singapore watch exchange forum (swx.com.sg). I usually post there whenever I consolidate my collection. If you find a buyer, Singapore is just a short trip south to meet up and do the transaction.

I too hate to post on Malaysian Watch Forums as you will usually get low balled. Singaporeans do negotiate but generally they will not go below fair value. All my unwanted watches were sold to Singaporeans.

Any other brand that looks like Tudor black bay red? Need to find something more reasonable in price for me..
*
Considering that Tudor BB takes its design cues from its older brother, the Submariner, there are plenty of homage watches out there.

Try Steinhart. Seiko. To name a few.

I have exactly the same thing but the bracelet is jubilee bracelet (Rolesor aka half gold) and it looks timeless. Mine is given by may dad and it's more than 50 years old, however working very well. Classic watch for all occasion.
*
So you mean the fluted bezel and crown is also in yellow gold since the bracelet is two tone?

From my understanding, the only part that is gold in a steel colored jubilee Datejust with fluted bezel is the bezel which is in white gold. The rest of the parts are stainless steel including the jubilee bracelet. Unless you are talking about a white gold Datejust of which everything is in white gold.

Rolex don’t do two different metals in one color. If it is Rolesor, then the gold parts should be in yellow or rose gold. If white gold + stainless steel watch, then only the bezel is in gold.

Yes, the fluted bezel and crown in yellow gold too. The infamous Chinaman Rolex. Having said that at my age (40), I learn to appreciate this watch and honestly it looks good although it's only 36mm. I was so used to wear my Omega Seamaster in the past and I kept on thinking watches should be at least 41mm, preferably 44mm but I was wrong. Even recently I've got my Tudor Ranger which is a 41mm, it looks huge too. FYI my wrist is 6.8 inches.
*
Two tone is nice. Even now in my 30s, I am warmed up to the idea of two tone and gold Rolexes.

Any place to send it for servicing locally? Looks like it is using an in-house movement. I tend to avoid watches that do not have local authorized service centers.

Nope, back to Germany if there is a need to service.

Nomos uses their own in-house indeed.
*
That would be painfully expensive and slow. Plus, things may get lost in the mail and insurance will not pay out the full amount. If only they have a Service Center in Malaysia, I would buy one in a heartbeat.

Aye, but I can't let that dictate what we yearn for, else die go back to the same old same old, considering how limited the malaysian market are.
*
True. But from my past experiences, I rather not go through it again. Better to buy watches which have local service centers for in house movements.

It’s the equivalent of buying a 2018 FIAT 124 spider and finding out that there is no official service center in Malaysia.

Been wearing my old beat up Tissot Touch Expert and Apple Watch series 3 a lot nowadays. I dunno why but I no longer have the urge to wear expensive watches. All my other watches are kept in the watch box and only taken out for occasional winding to keep the oil moving.

Anyone else also in the same situation?

Hi guys.
I plan to get either seiko flighmaster sna411 or citizen nighthawk bj7000.
Would like to hear comments or experience with this two watches.
Thanks in advance.
*
I personally prefer citizen as I have been to their service center when it was in Wisma Cosplant (not sure if it’s still located there or not) and the service technician there helped me save money by trying to salvage a watch that had a bent crown stem. He bent it back, checked the watch movement and didn’t even charge me a single cent for the servicing even though it was after the warranty period.

yea, no lighting, as i've been wearing between gschock and mechanical watch recently
i noticed the second hand skip few seconds earlier this morning, but now kinda return back to normal (after few hours in my car)

will observe it, probably im being paranoid for a second  sweat.gif
*
Should be normal. I don’t have any solar powered watch at the moment as my Tissot Touch is the older battery operated version.

Is there any advantages to solar watches compared to normal battery watches? I read somewhere that the solar cells will need replacing down the road too just like a battery.

No coincidence, 10 datuks I met during meeting, 9 are wearing smart watch - easier to jaga image for them, no need to get latest Rolex or Patek since not many are obscenely rich to upgrade every year
*
Why need to upgrade every year? Rolex and PP don’t release a new Daytona or Nautilus every year. The previous Daytona model was in production for 15 years before it was replaced and the previous model is now selling for a lot more than the newer model. Same thing with Nautilus also.

Only cheap ass brands release new models every year. Brands like Oris and Ball do face lift on their models yearly while Omega does their face lifts every 3-5 years.

Most are no longer wearing luxury watches because super fakes are so common nowadays. For a fraction of the price of a real watch, you can get a replica that is almost 99.999% accurate.

Corum Bridge Titanium. Nice.

I hope you bought it used as the preowned prices hover at around RM28-38k, which is like a 50% depreciation from it’s MSRP.
