QUOTE(kenji1903 @ Dec 6 2016, 02:42 PM) hard to say also la, cos that couple rotate their watches... so far i think i've seen a blue 2 tone Sub, AP diver, AP ROO elephant and a don't know what Big Bang... didn't really analyze that detail, scare later they think i want to rob them Two tone watches are an easy tell. Look for scratches on the gold portion, if the underneath metal is not gold then it is a fake as Rolex Two Tone only use solid 18k gold on their gold parts. There should be scratches on the bracelet. Look for deeper scratches and see whether if the underneath metal is the same color as the top metal.

QUOTE(kenji1903 @ Dec 6 2016, 02:52 PM) since you mentioned it... the gold centerlinks are pretty scratched cos when she was beside me its very obvious didn't check underneath, too obvious i'm checking her out already learned something new, thanks If it was scratched up and the color does not look different between the areas where there are no scratches and the areas with scratches, then it is a real gold watch. There is a reason why steel watches are the most popular counterfeit watches worn by posers. Fake gold watch, after a week or so of wearing it, will show that it is a fake due to the scratched areas looking either black or silver.

QUOTE(lala_cai @ Dec 6 2016, 05:08 PM) Guys, me new to watches here. wanna ask a noob question here. possible to get a sapphire automatic skeleton watch under RM2k? Cos i went to look look see see mostly is above RM5k. Btw, another question is i see in the thread keep mention local AD. AD = authorized distributor? Thanks lala_caiNope. I don't think so as Sapphire glass is around RM1000 cost for around 32mm diameter. You can however get a Swatch skeleton watch for less than 2k but it will have a plastic glass. Yes AD is Authorised Dealer.

QUOTE(fuzzy @ Dec 6 2016, 10:08 PM) Can la.. I'm sure some of the Fossil / Michael Kors skeleton watches are sapphire w skeleton.. Or even an odd Sea-Gull... the M182SK seems to have conflicting reports of being a sapp or not .. Fossil and Michael Kors are mineral glass and not Sapphire. Go check their website. Besides, to a lot of us, Sapphire glass is an afterthought and not that important. We don't see the allure of Sapphire glass. Even the Moonwatch is hesalite and not Sapphire. QUOTE(emy_xvidia @ Dec 7 2016, 01:14 PM) Any feedbacks on the Oris Big Crown ProPilot Calibre 111 in-house movement? Never owned an Oris watch before. Currently strapping G-Shock GravityMaster GPW-1000 and GulfMaster QWN-Q1000 with Quartz movements, but would love to try my first mechanical-movement watch. Oris has my attention due to its design. Feedbacks would be lovely! Like everdying said. You better like the watch when you buy it. Resale value is also non existence due to refresh models being released once every 2 years. Oris makes nice watches but their resale value is similar to Ball, Bell and Ross, Certina and other entry level Swiss brands. In 8 years of ownership, resale price will crater to 20% of RRP.

QUOTE(cychung @ Dec 8 2016, 11:13 AM) anyone know where can find audemars piguet diver? The AP boutique at Starhill has two on sale. Only RM98,000. But seriously, why do you want an AP diver? It's neither here or there. AP Royal Oak 15202 or AP ROO are better options than the Diver. If you need a diving watch, just get the Submariner in addition to the AP15202.

QUOTE(kenji1903 @ Dec 8 2016, 11:15 AM) Watch Club Publika has a nice selection of APs, i saw a diver last weekend Beware of preowned watch dealers. If the deal is too good to be true, then it probably is. Always better to buy new from a boutique for a piece of mind. All my watches are bought new when possible. http://malaysiagazette.com/en/national/lux...l-sold-malaysia

QUOTE(cychung @ Dec 8 2016, 03:16 PM) ap diver 15710ST need 98k? 15202 already nt my type. i dun like bracelet. ap roo chronograph is good but price are different too. Why don't you go to the boutique and check? I may have remembered it wrongly. But the price is around there +/-10k as AP have gone through two price increases this year alone. Their AP15400 costs RM68,000 including GST. AP ROO and AP Diver price difference is arouund 10k bro depending on the model. This post has been edited by friedricetheman: Dec 8 2016, 05:17 PM

QUOTE(anxious @ Dec 17 2016, 12:52 AM) Im thinking of getting an Omega Seamaster watch for me and my wife for our 20th anniversary. I dropped by the omega dealer in gurney plaza and they only offered 8℅ discount on the RRP. I heard some shops in kl used to give up to 20℅ discount. What are the best available discounts for Omega watches? Thks Paying cash will net you a better discount. I usually can get 20% for Omega by paying fully in cash. 25% is possible if you are buying two Omega watches and paying both by cash. Even Mercedes offer a 5% -10% discount when you buy two MB at the same time. Buy more, get more discount. Especially when you pay cash.

QUOTE(nyumnyum2k @ Oct 31 2017, 01:09 AM) Hi Guys. would like to know if my budget is around rm3k and below, whats the recommend watch ? i dont want apple watch but a watch that i can keep as an asset thanks nyumnyum2kSorry buddy but there are no investment grade watches at RM3k. Even vintage investment grade watches start at RM40k (USD$10k). And that’s not including the servicing costs on vintage watches, which can cost a chunk of the watch’s value depending on the condition. Add an extra 0 and you can opt for entry level investment grade watches like the Rolex 1016 if you look hard enough. Beat up (bad) condition ones are going for around 30k. Even a throwaway Tissot Touch cost more than 3k. This post has been edited by friedricetheman: Oct 31 2017, 08:37 PM

QUOTE(r3kahsttub @ Nov 1 2017, 10:44 AM) Well, I've sold my Seikos, none of which were at a loss. I'm not in it to make mega bucks but flaps shouldn't simply, well, flap. Of course, going into a watch purchase thinking it is an asset isn't also the correct mindset. Anyway, here we go: Yup. Agree. I bought my two tone not for investment but because I like the look. QUOTE(ConstantLove @ Dec 17 2017, 03:49 AM) Is it possible to get AP in malaysia with discounts? Is it as much as a rolex or iwc discount? Never checked on ap with AD before.. You can get discount on non Royal Oak and offshore models. If you are looking for Oak and Offshore, there is no discount. I was also looking for one earlier before I pulled the trigger on a TT Daytona with the updated bezel instead.

QUOTE(ConstantLove @ Dec 19 2017, 08:23 PM) Ops was looking for royal oak.. Haha.. Does klia airport has AP dealer? At least can save on gst.. I don’t know as I don’t usually shop at the airport. Whenever I fly, I will hang around the MAS lounge on the second floor and load up on the free liquor and food if I am early. Otherwise, I will rush to my boarding gate if I am late. Maybe Ops can try American ADs in LA or NYC as they usually are more open about discounting. You can also claim the sales tax so you won’t be affected by the high state tax.

QUOTE(emperor^10 @ Dec 19 2017, 09:39 PM) Hi guys, Between Omega n Tag which would you choose? Both are nice. But Omega has slightly better resale value depending on the model. Tag is nice too as I like their cheap Tourbillon. They are bringing haute horologia to the masses. Am waiting for their budget minute repeater.
