Cukur no scratch...

Between my dad and I, until now we still don't have any IWC watches in our collection yet. No models feel outstanding
*
I have a Pilot myself but that's the only small watch they have.
The Mark 18 was almost perfect except for the misplaced date window.

Big fan of the Portuguese too (white dial, blue hands, Arabic numerals) but can't pull it off.

IWC's just a way for you to overpay for a pilot watch.

Ouch, straight for the jugular.

Just been sent a surprise gift from the boutique today to celebrate the Mid Autumn Festival. Mighty generous of them as they just send another gift not too long ago.
Guess I have to buy a watch now  hmm.gif

Anyway....here are some pics.

Comes in a rather nice sturdy box and beautifully presented.

Not really a fan of their watches but that tea canister is a work of art.

Quai de l'Ile has been discontinued over a year or two now. I think that is pretty good value too although I'm not a big fan of that rotor design.

VC's current entry is the 56 Date only, the cheapest VC so far but it doesn't have the geneva seal. Although the finishing is still at a high standard and uses the Val Fleurier movement. I've been told by the Singapore boutique there's a price increase this month, could be global.

AP in July. Pp in October. Now vc completes the Holy Trinity of price increases laugh.gif

I like it. All 3 Snoopys have a unique look to them.

If I were to be pedantic, I wished they used the correct chrono seconds hand for DON bezel.

But the rm40k ask, ouch sweat.gif

Interesting tri date layout there.. is this a new model? I'm more familiar with the single date window variant.
*
The tri-date was a feature of the Mark 17 line. The (current) Mark 18 then went back to single date.

Finally got to see the VC Overseas in person, and they had all 3 variants available in the boutique today.

The blue was beautiful but can be hard to photograph.
Unfortunately, it wore a little too large for me, so I had to give it a pass.

The experience at the boutique was great though, with well-stocked cases and very helpful and informative sales staff.
Very homely, compared to feeling like just a number in other ADs.

too big for u, ada smaller size punya VC oversea?
*
They had a 37mm with a slightly different dial layout.
Tried that too but no dice.

Gorgeous piece la that one, really liking the blue dial. Are these ready stock or still got waitlist to them?
*
All 3 colours were ready stock today, about 32k AUD.
I don't expect it to last the weekend though.

Quite unlikely, I agree  biggrin.gif  where is this btw, Melbourne? They have a much better allocation over there than we do looks like - there was a dearth of SS overseas during my last browse around.

On another note, was reading about the new Oris calibre 400 movement, sounds very interesting. 5 day power reserve, 10 year warranty, 10 year service interval. Beats JLC by quite a couple of years. Haven't really been paying much attention to the brand much these past few years, but this sounds like a significant step upwards for them.
*
Yes Melbourne.
I'm not sure about allocation, but I feel it's a much more cornered market, and harder for newbies like me to break into.

Do Omega watches hold their value?
Currently looking at this one since all Subs are gone.

If you get it at a big enough discount, it helps with the initial depreciation.

My Bond is now 11 years old, and I think I can finally flip it for a small profit laugh.gif

No incomings for me, but I did manage to try on a bit of bling today.

No idea how incubus_skj does it, but full gold bling looks plain silly on me laugh.gif

hnnnggghhhhh yellow gold hnnnnghgghghghgh

i recently saw AP came out with those really chao ahbeng shiny bling bling gold material. i think it's called frosted gold?

too bad luckily it only came in small sizes (not to mention resell prices are really crazy on top of it's already ridiculous RRP) so i cannot get  laugh.gif  laugh.gif  laugh.gif
*
Tbh, I'm starting to appreciate their play on materials, and how they're trying to modernise an icon like the RO, which design-wise offers very little they can tinker with.

Their code line is probably also a couple of iterations away from mainstream acceptance, so I think they're probably attracting more of the younger crowd as compared to PP (which judging by your unker reaction probably suggests I'm on to something laugh.gif)

But in terms of sizes, they typically have 2 sizes - 37/41 for the RO, 38/41 for the ROC and 42/44 for the ROO, so something for everyone.

The RO bracelet is a real work of art though.

I still can't believe how they brand it as the second coming of AP, or how hard Hodinkee tried to push it as something great.

I'm a believer, although not of the basic ones la. I like their complicated variants. Time will tell smile.gif
