No, unless you have a perpetual calendar or a moonphase, it's pretty much pointless to have a winder.
It takes no more than a couple of minutes to set the time.

I think in general the lubricants for watches have advance to a state where I don't think it will become harden mess when it's left alone for a long period of time.

I think the one in Midvalley and Pyramid still have... KLCC one also (if the store is still there), though I usually just buy NATOs online so never really checked them out.

QUOTE(Xypheria @ Oct 24 2017, 11:56 AM) Thanks for the recommendations. Will definitely visit, I bought nato from cheapestnatostrap but the measurement is kinda off. Usable but definitely tighter than the original. Not sure if my WAZ1010 is 20mm or 22mm :🤔 The TAG Heuer Formula 1? Most sites say it's 20mm. |

QUOTE(friedricetheman @ Oct 31 2017, 08:34 PM) nyumnyum2k You can find a good few Seiko's at 3k or below range that might strike you lucky. Surprisingly, none of my SARBs or my SKX has lost value, and if you have picked up SARG not too long ago, you would see it has tripled in price.Sorry buddy but there are no investment grade watches at RM3k. Even vintage investment grade watches start at RM40k (USD$10k). And that’s not including the servicing costs on vintage watches, which can cost a chunk of the watch’s value depending on the condition. Add an extra 0 and you can opt for entry level investment grade watches like the Rolex 1016 if you look hard enough. Beat up (bad) condition ones are going for around 30k. Even a throwaway Tissot Touch cost more than 3k. But if you want the USD200 watch that sells for 14mil, that one slowly wait la. |

QUOTE(Jinglexo @ Nov 15 2017, 08:45 AM) Hi sifus , currently having a budget of between 500-800rm . Wanted to get a watch for my young brother graduating. He likes black colour stuff , so planning to get a black watch for him. As he is entering into working life, am looking a classy and mature looking guy watch. Hope you guys can help me out . A bit confused on the branch out there like seiko , iwc , Oris and the likes. Btw are there any sale coming soon? The Orient Bambino's should be a solid choice. Else, Seiko 5's.Thank u in advance for recommendation . |

Yea, SKX was a tempting recommendation but he mentioned classy and working, so SKX was a bit more on the rough and tumble side.

QUOTE(Jinglexo @ Nov 15 2017, 12:54 PM) Thank u very much for recommendation. All look good. Better? That's relative, at RM1k, you are likely to find similar movements around and difference are likely the styling and brands. If say I extend budget to 1k , can I get a better one? I forget to include one thing is that he likes mechanical watch. Mechanical watch is more pricey? Around that price, if you are willing to go down the micro brand list, you can find: Dan Henry: https://danhenrywatches.com/products/1970-a...tic-diver-watch Ventus Mori: https://ventuswatches.com/collections/mori-diver and plenty of others. You can also go into reputable China brands like Sea-Gull of BWF and see what they offer. |

At 4k I can only think of FC, Ball or Oris. Maybe Tag as well?
I'd think Sinn should have some around that mark as well, which would be my option. |

Eh wait, Sinn is out anyway as its nor swiss or have "punch" to the general public.
Next closest is probably Omega? Either the speedy reduced or AT quartz. But I honestly won't recommend either, as much as I do like my AT quartz. |

Sinn 104's are around 6k with 25% right? I remember it being really tempting, but they didn't have the white so I walked away from that deal. That should place it around the 4k level.
Maybe the 556 and U1's? I don't hang out in MV anymore so kinda lost touch with the pricing. Whether you consider it a proper Sinn is a different question la... I'm still not sure what he means by punch. Brand? Looks? |
