Checked out the promotion at tesco extra. Indeed is a great promotion. The set is from I-mobile. I got it for 888 too. The set comes with a portable charger that is worth RM199 (thats what they claimed). They also give me screen protector and a 1G micro sd card. Not forgetting load all the mp3's, wallpaper and games too. tongue.gif

Any v3xx users know how to install theme?

new v3 xx user here biggrin.gif

upgraded from moto L7i...so far so good, overall this phone is much better than L7i except for the camera sad.gif I can capture better video clips and snap less blurry pictures with the previous. Maybe because of bugs in the firmware/software? What's the latest official firmware for this phone? many thanx

i manage to get the video call working...but how do i off the 3g?
by disabling the 3g function will allow the battery to last longer?
another thing would be that i can't seem to get hsdpa to be detected in subang and taman tun....is there any settings needed as well?

thanks

video call must be dial in 3g area.. and both caller and recipient must be inside 3g coverage also.. no particular settings..
web browsing, go to menu > webaccess > websession > scroll to maxis 3g > options > set default.
then u be able to surf.. make sure there is a square box icon next to the signal bar, means your gprs is activated..

how to off 3g? why wanna off? normal usage only last 2 days which is good enough.. if wanna off, go to menu > settings > network > network band > 900/1800. now you only have GSM, without UMTS...
maxis have limited HSDPA in klang valley, so dont expect much at this moment..

thanks

hi all...
I'm having this weird prob with my v3xx
if I reply directly to mms which I received from my gf...she will not receive it although my phone stated that the sms already sent to her (if an mms replied with mms no problem occured)

to overcome this I have to go to create new message menu then proceed with the usual steps...this situation quite annoying to me...huhu

anybody knows what's causing this? laugh.gif

Folks, need some heads up on V3XX as I am looking for a replacement

1. PIM sync, possible to sync with Outlook for calendar & contact information?

2. Flip reliability. any comments on this? Had a very experience with V360 before.

3. Battery life when using as 3G/3.5G modem

4. Does the standard package comes with a wired handsfree? If so, how is the build of it.

5. Any good & bad comments are most welcome.

yes.. use the MPT(software)..

2. Flip reliability. any comments on this? Had a very experience with V360 before.
tough.. open the flip, put on the floor, step or sit on it, won't able to break..

3. Battery life when using as 3G/3.5G modem
very subjective.. depends on usage.. use as modem, better connect via cable cos can charge at the same time..

4. Does the standard package comes with a wired handsfree? If so, how is the build of it.
standard = simple? if yes, no handsfree..

5. Any good & bad comments are most welcome.
i dont know what is the bad comments so far from this phone..ohh, i just dont like the navigation key, sometimes hard to press..

jdreamer, I believe u need to purchase them online. I got mine bundled with the USB cable purchased.

Folks, thanks to the useful information found on this thread - I finally took the plunge and got myself a V3xx to replace my Nokia 6100. As a matter in fact, I could not decide which phone I should get hold of until yesterday. Was at Subang to pick up a stereo handsfree for my wife's z610 that started the ball rolling. It was then I spotted a V3xx on the glass top and asked if I can check it whats the fuss bout this phone.

My initial findings at that very moment apart from the reviews I have seen:

1. Slim & thin - one of my main consideration factor
2. Keypad has got very nice tactile feeling
3. Uniformed miniUSB port for battery charge & connectivity - another key consideration
4. Clear & sharp display
5. Zippy & responsive user interface
6. Build of the phone feels solid despite its slim form factor
7. Didnt like the microSD cage,

Spent the next 15-20 minutes going through the manual just to ensure the functions and features suffice to my requirement - and I would say it does more than what I require and its time to negotiate. Settle down for a set from Brightstar for RM698, with screen protector, USB cable & stereo handsfree. Add another RM50 for a 1GB microSD after contemplating whether should I go for it or not. Paid my dues, got home and start reading the manual thoroughly. At the same time, installed MPT using the CD provided to my laptop. Since I could not try out MPT at that very moment, went through the user guide and I must say it looks pretty impressive. Addresses my requirement for PIM sync with MS Outlook, send & receive SMS on laptop & 3/3.5G mobile modem on the run - would reckon this device as best bang for the buck.

First thing when the device is fully charged, loaded up MPT and sync the contacts with what I have in Outlook. Took me couple of tries to get it done before I could get everything running, but nevertheless - looks good. Tried sending SMS using MPT and sure looks good as well. At this point in time, cant test out the 3/3.5G modem capability as I have yet to sign up any data packages and I believe my SIM card is still on 2G.

Got a couple of questions for u folks, hope to get a heads up:

1. MPT was not able to detect my phone automatically. Had to manually add it in, and seeing there is no V3xx option - I selected V3x. Did any of u face the same thing?

2. How reliable are the external keys?

Now, its time to head to www.modmymoto.com to see what more I can do with the V3xx. Wish me luck smile.gif
