Hi Prinze,

I tried live update, and it says its the latest. Still cant detect the phone using USB cable, had to add in manually - even so, there is no option for V3xx.

The external keys I was referring to is the volume up, down, smart & camera keys at the side of the flip.

Settle down for a set from Brightstar for RM698, with screen protector, USB cable & stereo handsfree. Add another RM50 for a 1GB microSD after contemplating whether should I go for it or not.

Is a Brightstar set AP or ori? Thanks.

If you connect the V3xx and laptop via USB cable, will the 3G internet speed max at 1.8Mbps or 921600 bps? Coz the dial up dialog properties only max at 921600 bps. Any tips to go beyond this limit?

dgtel2,

I dont think that will determine your 3G speed. The snapshot speed is referring to the setting of your communication between laptop to the phone. It's called baud rate. Again, there is no relation between that and your 3G speed.

But if the baud rate is limited to 921600 bps, then there is no point of connecting to HSDPA since the baud rate is max to 921600 bps, isn't it? Therefore, say, if my V3xx managed to connect to HSDPA at 1.5Mbps, my transfer rate between phone and laptop is limited to 921600 bps...

Again....the baud rate is just merely representing the connection speed of your control application to the modem. Say you use hyperterminal to communicate to the modem through USB cable and you set your baud rate to 9600bps. Therefore, the 9600bps is the connection speed between hyperterminal and your modem through the USB. The baud rate does not represent the speed of your connection from the modem (in this case your v3xx) to the internet.

Besides, HSDPA speed of 1.5Mbps is just a theoretical value. You can never achieve that figure....nor more than 900kbps.

I've just bought an AP set of V3xx and subscribed to celcom D99 plan.
My area Batu Caves 3G / Hsdpa link pretty weak.
95% of time it would go 2.5G aka edge.

Problem I'm having is, it is slower than my Digi Edge on Sony Ericsson GC85 (data card).
And sometime it is even slower than a normal dial-up modem ....

Is this my phone software issue ? Update phone software would help ?

you can terminate the D99 plan anytime. No contract period. Batu Caves no Streamyx ka? Unless u're a road warrior, 3G or 4G is a compulsory service. Like me I'm using Celcom 3G and its service is reliable i must admit.
