is it authorised unit?

Yup. Original authorized distributor - Samart I-mobile.
I believe Tesco won't sell AP set

Sad to say, my V3xx was sent to the clinic for a thorough check-up. Good thing is that I bought an ori set, hence that should pretty much cover up any expenses required. Anyhow, was using this phone since late July07 and it refused to power on last Friday. Cause? Unknown - would need to wait when collecting the phone in couple of days time.

Got a question for u folks that uses this phone on a modem mode via USB cable. Does yr USB charge able to charge the phone while acting as a modem? What I encountered is that when the phone is on modem mode, the phone gets charged through USB - but at a very slow rate, or the phone is sucking more juice from the battery rather than charging it.
*
Are you plug it via a USB hub? It should plug directly into build it USB port. It look like yr USB port produce not enough ampere to charge yr V3xx.
My set charging and surfing no problem. Fully charge in 2 hrs.

oh, thanks for your info.
But my line here seem not stable....always back to 2G....2.5G...sad....
I try to reboot it, then will get back the HSDPA....

my fren's SE always stable with 3G....
any comments?
any setting 3G / video call on v3xx?
*
Actually there is a way to fix it into 3G only.
Menu>setting>network>network setup> (change band to WCDMA 2100).

Your connection will be always in 3G. I always use this setting when 3g signal is unstable while surfing net. Please note that if you are not in 3G coverage, your V3xx will be unable to received call or sms, you hv to set it back to automatic.

Another little advice to you all,

DO NOT LEAVE YOUR V3xx BATTERY COMPLETELY DRY OFF

It happen to me yesterday, after my V3xx battery completely dry out, it unable to charge..
i think the logic is V3xx required some battery power to start up it 1st then only the charging will take effect. So, when yr battery completely dry off, v3xx can't power on thus can't charge.
i try the whole night... and uncountable time... finally i leave it for few hours then try to power it on. It's work and start charging.....

OK, thanks for your great advice....very helpfull...

yesterday i try when the signal drop to 2.5G, then I try to use SE 3G phone to call into my v3xx, normally can see "incomding video call", but it only can see "incoming call"....mean just a normal voice call, not video call...sad...
while the SE is make a video call...sad.....

is this normal?

You are welcome.
i believe video call only will be activated when you are in 3g coverage area. If you not in 3g area, you can't video call. Same to N70.

not advisable to switch to wcdma because malaysia not all the area having 3g coverage.. best to set to automatic, the phone will auto detect..
*
It depend how you make use of your phone. Sometimes when we need to make video call or use 3g widthband but network is not stable, then it is very useful.

battery dry off unable to charge? no such thing.. your phone must be something wrong..

i remember i read other forum which some member having the same problem. Did you read other forum? Or maybe u can help us here to do a experiment. Drain your v3xx battery completely until it can't power on and see what happen. Repeat 10 times for higher accuracy.
Thanks in advanced.

Place yr v3xx with battery side facing up while connected to internet. It help reduce heat. I'm doing this all the time.
