yes currently using fixed tel line from maxis. but when check with maxis sales ppl, they said wired service no more in offer.

when i ask why their webpage still showing wired service, they commented their website not updated.... rclxub.gif

Better go another center and don't ask. Just directly apply for BB and see can or not.

One more is check the maxis website and see your area got coverage or not. Why have fix line but no BB? Strange. Is that difficult to connect a BB?

Wow, really? It that case thumbup.gif

but when i think back, there are certain times during the month when my speed are like slow for days and days, it's not that they throttle my connection?  i wanted to say throttle, does cap means the same thing?
*
You lost is it? hmm.gif And stray to here instead maxis wireless? sweat.gif Here is maxis wired.

I noticed the same recently. You may have the same issue I have. The connected download speed doesn't stay at 1Mbps constantly (I subscribe to the Home 1.0 package). Everytime I switched off/on the Maxis given modem, the connected download speed can be different (usually 5xxkbps but can be lower occasionally). However, the upload speed is constantly connected at 512kbps.

Not sure if anyone else have this problem. I'll check with Maxis BB call centre on this later.

The dl speed is depend on seed/leech. If you want to check, dl the file that big size, many seed over leech. Check for few day continue without off your pc. You will see the speed is constant.

I don't mean on P2P or BT.

The connection speed is from the modem admin screen:

[attachmentid=1353635]

As a result, the max download speed is limited to the current connection as indicated and that includes anything that you do incl BT and P2P. If you switched off/on the modem, the downstream speed changes. Since I subscribe to the 1Mbps, the downstream speed should be 1024kbps, should it not?
*
I think this speed in modem is pretty std once you log in. I off/on 100x the modem, it still show the same speed.
[attachmentid=1353679]

Maybe you need to call up maxis to check your phone line.

nolah, i know it's fixed line.  i'm using 1mb package.  i didn't use any p2p or bt. but on direct download, most of the time the speed is around 120kbps after the 2mb upgrade.  at the very beginning of the upgrade, the speed is constantly almost 200kbps so i thought i reached some kind of limit and they throttled me
*
That speed is correct. With 2mb you are upgrading, the speed is around 200kBps. And you are getting 100% stable speed.

The speed is not really that important. Can it run stable is more important. What use if sometime speed high and down like roller coaster. A stable average speed is run faster in BT than high unstable speed.

well atleast the probability of getting a stabler speed in maxis is higher than using tmnut.
*
Much much more better than tmnut. I using tmnut in office. Compare maxis BB, Better POTONG the tmnut.

Belkin not bad. So far rarelly hang. Better than aztech. One thing you must makesure is the firmware is update.

Another good about belkin modem router is, lifetime warranty. Spoil, just send it back for replacement.

my advice: stay away from Belkin FD7634 model and its variants (e.g. FD7634-4). they tend to hang quite often though sweat.gif i regret purchasing it. u can head over to Belkin thread at Network Tech support section and see numerous complaints regarding this particular model. smile.gif
*
Remember my last time problem regarding Belkin. It already been solve and the problem is from the firmware. After exchange another new one with an upgrade firmware from the service center, no more problem. And running much more stable than aztech.

This is one of the reasons why certain brands and models are usually out of stock in the market, Linksys and Buffalo routers tend to be the most sought after routers by home consumers these days.
*
Do not use linksys modem router on the maxis wired BB. It won't work. I ve been try before.
