Haha, my house dont have unifi, i only have 8mbps streamyx and no unifi here, my office more worst, 1mbps internet only and the 1mbps not even achieved 1mbps speed, only 700kbps only. So very difficult to do GST and other online transaction. so plan to do transfer the internet to my office. For budget, sure as cheap as posible lol

i believe wireless point to point is your solution since both of your house are within line of slight which makes things easier.

after some random google, it should be something like this
http://www.radwin.com/products/point-to-point/radwin2000

or you can google keyword 2km point to point to learn more

good luck and cheers

Probably cheaper to just sign up a wireless broadband plan and use in the office.

Anyone here managed to get the ER-8 or ERPro-8 sold by Malaysia? Was curious to know the input and output power on power adapter specs difference between those 2 models. I was planning to get it oversea and replace the power adapter with aftermarket ones. Output doesn't matter anyway, I already know how it works but still keen to know the difference between ER-8 and ERPro-8. Heard somewhere in this thread international version is better but was wondering if there is any difference on the device input power between countries and countries and countries or are they all the same? Like lets say comparing our ER-8 input power vs other country ER-8 input power.

Sorry for the noob question.

The power supply is inside the router itself & accept 110v-240v. All you need is the standard 3 pin power cord that you usually use on laptop power brick. Anyway the total cost of importing ER8/ERPro-8 is not much lower than buying locally, so I don't really see the point of getting it from oversea unless it is for personal use & someone helping you to bring it back from ovesea. I'm not a fan of ER-8/ERPro-8 due to lack of SFP+ port.

hmm.gif I could get the 2nd hand ERPro-8 around $280~300 excluding VAT. If I buy it from oversea including VAT, does it cover up GST or any taxes when reaches here? It's used though, just worry got halt by sirim for approval and kastam tax would be over the MSRP in Malaysia.
PS : I didn't really buy stuffs above RM500 from oversea before.

Does the cost includes shipping? 280USD is not cheap for a used one. It will get stopped by Kastam due to the value exceed 500. Router has no duty but you will still subjected to 6% GST. And no, it is not based on the MSRP but the value stated in the commercial invoice inclusive of the shipping cost. Not worth it though. Used & without warranty for 25% cheaper than getting locally is not worth it considering the risk of it not working & potentially additional cost to get it cleared from Kastam.

Yes. Guess I get the X and a switch locally then. With the current currency strength + kastam, rclxub.gif doh.gif I probably get them locally if someone there is someone bringing in unless no one is bringing in, then I don't have a choice but to just get them outside the country. Thanks for the advice notworthy.gif

Go to the first post of this thread. TS do sell Ubiquiti devices. And there are a few vendors selling too. All with warranty.

you need consider duty + SIRIM... and it starting last few months (feb i think). even RMA product that we receive... we being charge by SIRIM doh.gif and quite surprisingly... we do import quite long time ago for ubnt product suddenly SIRIM charge us per unit of the imported products. even you already paid kastam duty...
