thanks!

I plan to do the similar setup like another forumer.

Considering between three setup

Unifi Modem > ERPoe-5 > 4 or 5 UBNT UAP AC Pro

Unifi Modem > UBNT Security Gateway > TS-8-PRO > 4 or 5 UBNT UAP AC Pro

Unifi Modem > Unifi Stock Router (reason : using hyppty box through wifi vlan tag) > TS-8-PRO> 4 or 5 UBNT UAP AC Pro

I saw that UBNT AP can set vlan tag through wifi.
So i guess i could set up a secondary WIFI SSID and vlan tag it for hypptbox?

My setup = want every hardware do its own task rather than AIO to distribute the load in order to cater big family members of mine?

5 MBP, 2 MacMini, 2 Apple TV, 5 iPhone, 3 iPad, Printer and Etc.

My current setup is following:
Unifi Modem > Unifi Stock Router (reason : using hyppty box through wifi vlan tag) > 2 Apple Airport Extreme Router running in bridge mode as AP

Hope you could give me some hints, sifu flex.gif

By the way, my friend is giving me previous generations of UAP AC PRO (square design) I wonder is there much different between the latest and previous generation? thumbsup.gif

No u dont need the cloud key to manage, unless u wanna do users load balancing, offsite management, or hotspot. I dont think uap any web gui. All managed by the controller.

i am using it as a wireless bridge. Connection is flawless, almost getting 90% from the original transmitter speed.

You need wireless to cover a particular area or need cover all the factory floor? Wireless signal is not strong at some spot due to distance?

nanostation can use as AP and PTP devices.. as in your case, make it become AP. let it broadcast the wifi.. but you might need to plan it properly. Nanobeam if only if, you have unifi then you able to fully utilized its speed. Nanobeam is a directional antenna and you could probably connect it with a phone or a laptop @ ~300ft at best.

I wonder edge router poe-5 possible to use as switch and poe at the same time ?

Eg :

Etho = wan
Eth1 = lan
Eth2-4 = poe

If can that means we can save a lot on the ubiquiti switch + Poe

Tbh the new us8 60w is cheaper and have more ports. Maybe u can look into that. Its on sale now, but not sure if local dist have it in stock yet. If i were u i would look for a good deal online. Eg: senetic.co.uk. (their shipping is cheaper than most places)

Hi,

I'm plan to do bridge for a distance 2km and here is my configuration.

Location A = Fiber time router (300MBP) > NBE-5AC-16
Location B = NBE-5AC-16 > Router.

Is that I'm correct to setup like that ?.

Thank you all sifu first.
Regards
Symon Lim
