[Tested using Speedtest.net to nearest Time Server (in Penang where I'm residing)]

I've been using a ER-X for my home Internet over Time Broadband (100 Mbps). It has been working well with QoS Smart Queue set to 100 Mbps, typically achieving ~80 Mbps download (which is expected).

Recently Time upped the plan from 100 Mbps to 200 Mbps.
So going into the ER-X Configuration, I updated QoS Smart Queue to 200 Mbps Rate limits for both upload and download.

I thought that the ER-X was good for managing connections up to 300-400 Mbps. However, speedtest shows < 130 Mbps Donwload, ~180 Mbps upload.
Disabling QoS Smart Queue for either direction will get ~200 Mbps (sometimes more) throughput for that direction.

With Smart Queue enabled, the CPU is ~ 55% load, which I read from some UBNT forum means that one of the CPU cores is pegged (100%).

Does this mean that the ER-X is not fast enough for QoS Smart Queues even for 200 Mbps (Download bandwidth)? Has anyone managed to get it to work?

Looks like UXG Max, UXG Pro, CK Enterprise, UC Display and all the big Unifi items are starting to appear in SG market drool.gif

Including Unifi access and rack products brows.gif

Pricelist
Don't recommend buying from this as they have higher prices when compared and it's before counting GST, but their stock are generally more complete and ready, use this as reference for products available in SG market

Carousell SG Seller
Recommend buying from this guy as they have cheaper prices and there's no GST so the prices you see is what you get, but due to that reason their stock are quickly ran out, so if it's in stock, I suggest acting fast to snatch up whatever you want tongue.gif

Custom tax refer to https://ezhs.customs.gov.my/
Importing wireless devices most likely will require you to pay for SIRIM certification too. Think it’s rm100.

Hm the u7 pro is roughly RM 1,305 after conversion sgd. also it doesn't mention any shipping from sg hmm.gif

In comparison you can get a tp link BE 65 wifi mesh for the 2 pack model for RM 1,809.80 on shopee (RM969 for single pack). Their higher tier models are the BE 75 and the BE85 if you want more performance including the 10g ports, but you have to pay an extra premium on top of that.

also on shopee for the deco if you look carefully there some nice discount vouchers

u7 pro review

based on what i saw, the U7 at 6ghz was not great.

be65 (aka be63) review
https://dongknows.com/tp-link-deco-be63-wi-...-system-review/

QUOTE
Deco BE63 vs. Deco BE65: The latter is made for the E.U. and Asia, where the 6GHz band is regulated differently and has the best-case-scenario theoretical bandwidth of 5760 Mbps (as opposed to 5188 Mbps of the BE63), yielding the hardware’s total marketing bandwidth of 11000Mbps (rounded up). The rest of the two are the same.

tplink deco works well for usage and performance. they market ai roaming, but whether it's really ai or not, their roaming is pretty effective according to the reviews. but if you are privacy concerned that might be a dealbreaker. Like only way to manage it is to sign into a tplinkg account on mobile app. Compare this to ubiquiti can locally manage using a locally hosted unifi controller app without having to sign in online.

other wifi7 options like Eero, doesn't seem reliable.

Wouldn't have minded going for another ubiquiti (they have a nice UI for managing their devices) but considering availability, pricing compared to say a tplink deco mesh, it's a harder pick sweat.gif

also later in the year tplink are also offering a poe version of the Deco BE65-PoE hmm.gif so that will be another advantage ubiquiti loses over the deco then (assuming you use a poe switch like i do)

That’s cuz they don’t do delivery out of SG, at most they will only deliver within SG and the order is over $1K

Considering I’ve already bought into the Ubiquiti system, no point just mix and matching. Tho I have to say PPSK has been giving me hella issues sweat.gif

Still waiting for the software update to kinda rectify these issues

How much did you get for the UDM SE? I"m looking at Cloud gateway ultra for 1G or less internet or UDM SE for more future proof. UDM SE could powered the 2 AP but seems overkill smile.gif

Got it used locally (SG Set) for RM1990 on carousell, for yours consider just going UX I’d say is probably sufficient, or maybe UXG Max for 2.5G with CKG2+

Had a new UCG Ultra and trying to set it up (replacing an old USG3). It got stuck in the setup at the "Plug in the cable" stage where it's expecting to detect the WAN connection. Tried a few solutions found on google/reddit etc but none works (restarting the Telekom modem, restarting the UCG, etc).

Trying a long shot here to see if anyone has encountered similar issue and have found a fix. This "Plug in cable" issue seems to affect UDM devices too, and most of them pointed to faulty WAN port on the device.

TIA.

There is a suggestion to access the UCG. Have you try it?

Hi cyberic. Yes I resolved mine with a direct link in to configure the device. Sorry didn't have time to give an update earlier.

Initially I'd thot it was a faulty WAN port - the vendor thought the same too when I reported the issue to him, and they were happy to do a RMA for me - but my last attempt was to connect direct to the UCG with a cable.. default IP is 192.168.1.1 - and I can access the config page. From there, you can enter your Telekom credentials (or whichever broadband service you are using) and after a reboot, the device can detect internet service on the WAN port.

The rest is the standard Unifi OS setup stuff.

Those looking for a direct upgrade from USG3, this UCG Ultra is the exact replacement (since like the USG3, it does not come with any wifi device, pair it with whatever APs you prefer).
