Noted thanks eastherd, may I know if static route can be use on all kind of router? I means, not many router that have many options.. not sure if static route are standard function, because I think static route need to be maintain on all router that have different subnet so that they can talk to each other right.  smile.gif

its better to have simple route. dont make it complex. so, can troubleshoot it easily if there is some error smile.gif

Hi, i am look for access point to extend my factory Wireless signal, currently i am using Streamyx 4MB. Any suggestion on which wireless AP to use ?

Currently my setting for wireless AP is Tp-Link WA830RE somehow i felt the wireless signal is not strong enough at some spot.

You need wireless to cover a particular area or need cover all the factory floor? Wireless signal is not strong at some spot due to distance?

unifi internet speed, its better use ac lr + now its end cycle of uap lr.

uap lr and uap ac lr range is the same at 183m (600 ft). But AC LR able to run simultaneous band. and have 5Ghz frequency.

while uap lr only have 2.4Ghz

Speed and Range values may vary and are based on optimal environments..

Am using UNIFI AP, and Unifi AP-LR series.
Nice thin client AP with controller, best of all license if free for controller software.
Overall, controller features aren't impressive but suitable for average SME business and cafe environment usage.
One thing cool compare to average home AP like TPlink, I have been switching on the unit for months, still running stable.

what router are you using?

For home user that thinking of getting ER-L, I suggest get ER-X instead. ER-L ideally paired with switches & ER-L only will be fast if you use the hardware offloading feature. You can get ER-X for half the price of ER-L. Anything that require CPU such as QoS or VPN, ER-X will be fine (2x880MHz MIPS32 vs 2x500MHz MIPS64 of ER-L). ER-X does have per port VLAN tagging & some basic HW offloading features added in latest firmware.
*
How about if ER-L paired with TS-8 to drive 3 AP AC (LR)?

Does ER-L have real advantage over ER-X?

Then you might as well use ERPoe-5 if you only need 3 POE ports. If you only need the POE output, TS-8 is abit under utilised. Unless you thinking of getting 5 pack.

The main advantage of ER-L over ER-X is due to routing performance between networks (multiple subnet or VLAN) plus some other hardware acceleration/offload such as IPSec hw acceleration (ER-X also had this but slower). If you want to use it for non hw accelerated function such as QoS or OpenVPN, it will actually be slower than ER-X in that particular task. But I recommend Mikrotik hEX R3 (similar processor as ER-X & can run Dude server) over ER-X unless you need full OpenVPN server or other features in EdgeOS not available in RouterOS. Mikrotik hEX POE is good low budget choice with POE 802.3at support, the CPU is slower than hEX R3 & ER-X, but still pretty decent.

--TS-8

---Android Box 1

---UAP‑AC‑LR 1

---Android Box 2

---UAP‑AC‑LR 2

I am not sure whether I need those extra features or not
