This lappy got 2 sodiumm RAM slot.Max is 1GB showing in web page but our forumer did upgrade to 2GB. So far no problem with 2 GB there.

Exactly the same mistake as some of my friends did (not typo). Its not sodiumm.....

As far as lappie lifespan is concerned, I believe it is around 2 -3 years if you use it for games, if you are a normal user e.g. office, Word, programming .. it can probably last 3 -5 years.

This comes from experience as my old Benq 5000U is 3 years old but can still run Visual Studio and Sql sever 2005 (albeit a bit slower but usable).

As for the s73g, my machine is running WinXp pro now which I bought without the vista upgrade. I am wondering if there's any discount for existing XP Pro users to upgrade to Vista.

if it's me, i'll wait for Vista SP1 to come out, then only i'll upgrade, since windows is well known for its vulnerabilities smile.gif

i saw a s73g at a comp shop today. According to d sales lady, its a return unit from customer who cant run NFS Carbon, where d lappy restart when run d game. They did reinstall d OS and d game but still cant run d game. The tried run it at R55 (using x1150), and it works!! hmmm... wonder la... technically x1600 is much much better...

Can anyone confirm problem when playing carbon or newer games?

well, for my s73G da settings are everything full except motion blur (makes me crash on dividers always >.<). Only lag when theres lotta trees. Other than dat fps hits 20-30.I tink 7400 can support everything medium or so.

the salesman at lowyat plaza explained to me that if u installed Vista in S73G, all drivers would upload automatically, no hassel... so if the new s73v only offers preloaded vista, might get the s73g now, seems price dropped...

centrino c2d? its centrino mobile technology with core 2 duo... isnt that the latest ones?

heck, i played around with displayed s73g with vista home premium notebook there... seems the display is good and the 3d graphic is magnificent.. the ati x1600 is really a good gc...

with 2g ram, its consider ultimate machine for me... u cant find ati x1600 in other model within this price range... acer x1600 128mb is priced around RM49++
