QUOTE(amy33 @ Dec 27 2022, 01:08 AM) Hi, are the merchants listed under the Groceries and Essentials category only limited to the named shops as below ? Or it also applies to all grocery and drug stores/pharmacies ? ALL stores that fall under the MCC. Including the online store (e.g. Guardian Online store is under MCC 5912 and falls under Groceries and Essentials category).-MCC: 5411 – All grocery stores including Giant, Cold Storage, Jaya Grocer, Mercato, etc. - MCC: 5912 – All drug stores and pharmacies including Guardian, Watsons, Caring Pharmacy, etc. Kindly advise, Thanks! QUOTE(Human Nature @ Jan 1 2023, 06:52 PM) Should be dining, but cannot always be assumed to be the case. Must trial and error. So far I have confirmed Pizza Hut and Dominoes online is "Dining", and Guardian online is "groceries/pharmacy". Depends how they set up the MCC and online and OTC transactions could have different merchant settings. Human Nature liked this post

QUOTE(Darren @ Jan 4 2023, 12:25 AM) for wise card usage cashback, usage on weekend only entitle for 8%... To overcome weekday weekend issue, just top up RM182 into ewallet like Grab or Shopee on 1st Saturday of the month, then use it to pay for groceries and dining spend on weekday. Then weekend you use the card for groceries and dining.for NTB campaign, it can be anyday.....surely weekend is better since 8%(usage)+8%(campaign) |

Just a heads up guys. HLB has a limited time offer for a 6m 0% FPP conversion. Works for all accumulated spend above RM500. Dexter, wongmunkeong, and 1 other liked this post

QUOTE(victorywp @ Jan 10 2023, 01:25 PM) if you are using wise card, that's a trap to get you locked so that you will have to pay for the annual fee. they always offer this bs around 1-5m near to your annual fee. How is it a trap? You can cancel FPP at any time without penalty. Also, this offer is available to everyone.Besides, if you're smart enough, you can use the 0% FPP offers to more than offset the AF anyways |

QUOTE(victorywp @ Jan 10 2023, 01:59 PM) 1) the 0% fpp is only for 3months, if 6months will be 0.88% (1.51% effective rate) 6m campaign: https://www.hlb.com.my/en/personal-banking/...paign-2023.htmlsos: https://www.hlb.com.my/en/personal-banking/...stmas-2022.html 2) if you are smart enough, you should opt for their 0% balance transfer for 12m instead sos: https://www.hlb.com.my/en/personal-banking/...promotions.html You’re right, BT might be even better, but unlike FPP, BT has an early termination penalty. |

QUOTE(victorywp @ Jan 10 2023, 02:09 PM) No My AF will charge this month. But I just want the flexibility to be able to do that if need be. So far 1 year and this is a pretty good secondary card to my RHB Shell Visa. |

QUOTE(ClarenceT @ Jan 11 2023, 05:17 PM) Hahaha a lot of Wise users were upset when HLB reduced monthly spending from RM2000 to RM500, AF from RM250/160 to RM98, CB from RM100 to RM54/60. It’s for the better. This card is more versatile than Citibank Cashback card at the same spending threshold:1. Groceries is not limited to certain outlets only. In fact it even includes pharmacies now. 2. Online/ewallet spend broader than just Grab 3. RM15 category cashback for total of RM60 cashback (RM10/RM40 for Citibank Cashback card). The downside of course is the weekend spend criteria, but with some planning it is fairly doable. |

I notice my HLB Wise card expiry is 7 years, as compared to the usual 5 years for all my other cards.
Any special reason for this? |

I just applied for HLB 12m 0% BT via my Wise care.
After that, I got an email that said the application was approved. "The above transferred amount will be reflected in your forthcoming statement." So how do I pay? The account number last 4 digits in the email is different from my credit card account. I understand from reading the previous posts here, they will create a separate BT account. But what is the account number (cause they only gave last four digits, the first twelve are xxxx-xxxx-xxxx). There is no details on the payment due date etc. Will all that information be provided at a later date? Appreciate all of your clarifications on the above. Thanks! |
