Just noticed from the approval email from HLB that my card can be used for online transactions by activating it on HL Connect, before arrival of the physical card. I read up about this feature (referred to as "virtual card") and I had high hope that I could use the card before its arrival. I can see the card number, expiry but not the CVV, which will be available only after online purchase is enabled. But after a few emails and chat sessions, I was told this feature is actually not available yet. So my hope is dashed. Have to wait for physical card arrival, no choice.

QUOTE(tan_aniki @ Dec 28 2019, 11:56 AM) yes, u need the cvv in order to activate the card, so the virtual card feature is not available yet... actually is quite dangerous, if someone already got your login and duplicate ur sim card, they can actually apply the card 1st and buy things online without even the physical card arrive... even if other bank has this feature in the future, i'm still against this idea... Yes agree, there are risks. I heard on the radio this morning that Bank Negara is studying mobile banks in Malaysia and up to 5 licenses may be given. Mobile bank means bank with no physical presence, or virtual banks. So I guess the future trend will be virtual cards, virtual accounts etc that will give us cheaper banking, conveniences but same time risks. QUOTE(cybpsych @ Jan 9 2020, 12:12 PM) I noticed that I always have 100% of my retail spending for FPP application although RM2,000 has been stated as the minimum amount. Would you think the RM2,000 level is meant for new card holder?

QUOTE(tan_aniki @ Jan 9 2020, 02:47 PM) this FPP campaign is for all new and existing, what do u mean by 100%, less than RM2k? If more than RM2k, sure you can FPP 100% except the cents behind I mean, after an application of the full amount eligible, I can see that my next card spendings will appear as eligible FPP straight away even though it's not up to RM2,000 yet.

QUOTE(tan_aniki @ Jan 10 2020, 08:41 AM) as long as you got RM500 spend, you are eligible for FPP but not necessary 0% show us the screenshot if possible Here's one in Dec for my Fortune card that shows RM585 as eligible but I don't have the next page to show what % it is for this amount. I'll wait till after I do another FPP and check the next eligible amount and at what rate. Possible that minimum RM500 is applied for all cards during the promotion period. Attached thumbnail(s)

QUOTE(tan_aniki @ Jan 10 2020, 10:38 AM) u click apply on top and select fpp, you can see the available card for fpp and few selection of different rate for fpp, but definitely not 0% as didn't meet the min RM2000 I see. Ok so it's not necessarily zero% when the eligible button appears This post has been edited by LemonJane: Jan 10 2020, 11:29 AM

I still haven't received my HLB AA card that I applied for on 25/12/2019. I'm thinking of asking for a replacement card. I see that I can select Same Number or New Number for the card, and Yes to block or No to block.
Question: If I select same number (as I like the number) I just ignore the Block or No block question right?

QUOTE(tan_aniki @ Jan 15 2020, 08:07 PM) call and ask for the status my latest applied supp card took around 20 days after they call me n my wife for verification. I did live-chat this morning. CS said better ask for a replacement as it is a bit long. She said select the Same Number since I want to keep the same number, and select Block which is to block the old card. The new card will be issued with new expiry date and new CVV.

I received finally an SMS to inform that my HLB AA card has been sent. This must be for the replacement card that I asked for on 15-1-20. Luckily the 5,000 AA points are in respect of quarterly spending. Strange that I never received any SMS for the first card that I applied for on 25/12/19, which trully never arrived. I guess there has been an error somehow along the way.

I've got my RM8 for dining incurred on 27/1/20. Received SMS shortly after and today the RM8 has been credited. According to the terms and conditions, the cashback is to be credited within 8 weeks after the campaign end-date of 29/2/20. Someone at HLB must have changed his mind and decided to give out the ang pow earlier.

QUOTE(siawyent @ Jan 29 2020, 02:48 PM) Received sms said my cc is approved, how long usually will Hong leong send the cc? They use normal mail or courier? At least 2 weeks, I can tell you when I get mine eventually. They send by normal mail. I have mine approved on 25/12/19, it didn't come so I asked for a replacement card on 15/1/20. Yesterday I received an SMS to tell me it's (the new card I think) on its way. It's already 29/1/20. But granted that my timing has been over a Christmas, a new year and a Chinese new year.
