QUOTE(sideways @ Aug 1 2016, 12:07 PM) Wow straight nic ejuice. Haven't seen anyone request that yet really.Anyway on my end finally finished my cosmetic mods on the VT + that clear vinyl 510 protector I was talking about earlier: ![]() Also, as I was already tinkering with it I thought why not go all the way and fix the slightly crooked screen too. A few minutes later, I this was what I had lol: ![]() So yeah, the VT133 is as decently easy to tinker with physically as it is through eScribe. It's built decently enough, but there are some parts of it (especially the thin, janky outer shell and plastic battery sled) that make me feel that... well... it's really not worth the full MSRP. On the other hand, it's actually feels very good in the hand when fully assembled. So that's that. Anyway, anybody got a dead (or dying) VT133 they wanna pawn off for cheap? I could use it for spare parts lol, I'm scared of breaking the janky outer shell anytime soon. This post has been edited by Eiraku: Aug 1 2016, 12:28 PM |

I *did* manage to put some of that Invisible Shield-type vinyl I used for the 510 on the screen for some decent screen protection though. Also, I think I have identified the *main* point of juice entry into the mod... the space between the main frame and the inner cover (the one you remove to access the innards). Might be lining the cover with a thin strip of that (really useful) vinyl to improve sealing soon. |

QUOTE(Eiraku @ Aug 1 2016, 01:59 AM) ![]() Coz y'know, it's always obvious to name a product '2 just to show that it has two batteries inside.... rather than make people go like "What V2? QUOTE(TristanX @ Aug 1 2016, 02:00 PM) Woah really. I've never been a fan to begin with lol, Kangar stuff always felt "rough" to me. I didn't start with Subtanks and Subboxes (while I did try them, I never really owned one) so I don't have nostalgia glasses to make things look better either. That said, I gotta admit, starting with the OG Cupti, their stuff has finally began to look quite interesting. Anyway, just finished laying the internal "anti-juice gasket" on the VT's inner cover (it's that shiny/rubbery stuff you see along the top edge, goes all the way down to the screen area): ![]() Hopefully between that, the 510 vinyl seal and the vinyl screen protector (which also helps seal the screen), this particular VT133 would have a better chance against liquid entry. And yeah, that MrDIY Trasparent Protective Vinyl Sticker (aka cheap Invisible Shield) is some really, really useful stuff. This post has been edited by Eiraku: Aug 1 2016, 07:48 PM |

eiraku Did u test a few drops of your most acidic juice on both sides of the vinyl to see if there's a reaction?

Did a quick test prior (used Lava Flow coz that was all I had on hand... and I guess pineapple is "kinda" acidic) and nope no immediate reaction at least.TBH, this stuff has been coating all my Pyrex tanks and the Pico's screen for a while and has been exposed to all manner of juices (and to a lesser degree, my acidic sweat) to no effect (besides a very slow weakening of the adhesive at the very edges, that is). That said, I wouldn't actually put it in direct contact with juice (aka the insides of any tanks or atties), but for external use it has been rather stable so far. QUOTE(andyng38 @ Aug 1 2016, 04:13 PM) It probably would, but there's no real way to tell if you did it... unless you break something or leave very obvious signs of disassembly. Unlike laptops and phones, there are no anti-tamper seals. That said, HCigar/VE only does 3 month warranties to begin with IINM.... 6 at most anyway. For me it's better to figure out how to get things fixed on your own anyway lol (especially as Evolv actually does very good warranties on their boards, or at least as far as I've heard). Thanks. Frankly speaking even if there were anti-tamper seals, I'd rather add anti-juice shields and risk voiding the warranty than to chance the board being damaged by a leaking atty. QUOTE(ikki9394 @ Aug 1 2016, 06:51 PM) Price range? Preferences (size, wattage, battery life)?Otherwise, general recommendations are as follows: Mini: iStick Pico (smallest sane mod to use the Protank on). Normal: Smok Quantum (better features than VTC/VTTwo Mini) / JT VTTwo Mini (coz Quantum quite hard to find locally) / Volcano Lavabox Mini (if you kaya raya, but DNA75 is goodings). Maxi: Hcigar VT133 (while still on offer at VE - don't bother at normal pricing) / Smok H-Priv (endorsed by TristanX) / JT RX200s (the normal maxi mod, beloved by many). You can check out my review on the Pico oin my blog (my signature got link... and no, no ads). VT133 review should be up by the end of this week/early next week (after my Lava Flow juice review). Also, VAPEMAILLLLL: ![]() Courtesy of the usual auction place. Later will sumbat into review cycle. This post has been edited by Eiraku: Aug 1 2016, 07:17 PM |

Coz 500, one choice is Volcano Lavabox Mini. Very nice size and DNA75 performance. Battery life (single 18650) should be okay for one day use at 20w. Price is around 400.Thanks!! For something even smaller, the S-Body DNA75. Internal LiPo battery means no spares (and possibly *slightly* lower batt life), but should be chargeable with powerbanks so no really an issue. Also using the same chipset (DNA goodness) but slightly higher price around 450-ish. Both readily available locally (at around the prices quoted), especially at any VE outlet (coz I know they keep stock of these two mods). Or if you wanna go FULL FORCE: The Lost Vapes Therion. Bigger than both the Vabox and the S-Body, but TWO 18650 batteries (possibly can go 2 days without charging). Also using the DNA75 chipset, and design is gooding if you like to vape like a sir (leather accents wooo). Around 500-ish... but somebody saw it being sold around 470-ish on Shopee. This one I'm not so sure where to get from a local shop. Maybe andyng38 can help you if you're interested. Of course, going for the cheaper mods I listed down in my original post is also fine (plus you get to drown in juice with the balance). But for a mod budget of 500, the 3 above are my main recos for you. Just bear in mine though, while these 3 should be perfectly vapable (and awesomely so) out of the box, there is a *slight* learning curve with the software involved (eScribe on the PC) if you wanna make *full* use of their *full* potential... as they are DNA-based mods after all. Eiraku Well, I'll try to help him. Therion is going for RM439 at Shopee, but as suggested in an earlier post by waqi953, the HCigar VT75 nano seems to be good for ikki, IF he/she can tahan the fiddly battery cover. It's a single 18650 battery mod with a quality DNA75 chip, very compact and should be arriving in our country some time this month. At USD99, I'd rather go for a dual battery Lost Vapes Therion...minimal price difference. Thanks!! But since ikki wants it as compact as possible, here's the VT75 nano review by my fellow clansman: |

Apparently HCig wants to ship their stuff off to Murica first (to beat the FDA dateline) so it might be quite a while before we start to see stock appearing locally (or even on FT).But since ikki wants it as compact as possible, here's the VT75 nano review by my fellow clansman: And the good ol' chap looks like he already has that 500 burning in his pocket lol. Also, that S-Body is smaller than *both* the VTNano and the Vabox Mini... and methinks it's perfect for him (if he doesn't mind the internal lipo).
