I'm in the same boat mate. There's this huge void, that is the 133-150w two 18650s, in the market just waiting to be abused.

How is it that these suppliers can get the Lavabox DNA 75 earlier than a lot of US vendors?
*
Malaysia is closer to China lol, and almost everything vape related is assembled there so it's just a matter of logistics.

As for that void, there actually a lot of mods that actually fill it... and a lot more incoming. Problem is, most aren't DNA devices. I mean, make something around the size of the Cuboid/213 and stick the DNA200 and 2x18650s in it... it will sure sell like hotcakes.

Oh well.

They did, and I'm actually looking out for one right now.

But yeah, design wise it's not exactly eye-catching. I wouldn't actually go as far as to say "fugly" (I've seen much, much worse) but yeah it doesn't have the flair of the other VTs (VT75 eapecially).

Nothing a little CF can't fix though lol.

If anybody's heading out to Setiawalk for the VE "thing" today, do keep an eye out if there's any VT133 around? Preferably in Red, Grey or Yellow.

The Therion is one sexy beast, the price tho.. Waaaay over my vape budget, one of those things where it's only nice to see.

You are being a very sensible and thrifty vaper. Kudos to you!! We should always make a budget that is comfortably within our means, and stick to it the best we can. We also have to think about value for money, and the utility of the things we buy.

Under normal circumstances I would have never bought a high-end mod. Till today I have had 4 mods which died/giving me problems (eg random self-firing, sticky 510 connects etc). They were all budget devices. After I saw the Triade and fell in vapelust, I forced myself to walk away from the shop. Sat down at my usual chicken rice stall in SS15 for a long time, thinking....to buy it or go for yet another budget mod.

After finishing my chicken rice lunch, I whatsapped an old vaping buddy and sought his opinion. He asked me a few pointed questions: could I afford it? Yes. Isn't it better to have one quality device than to keep buying cheaper mods again and again only to have them fail or cause problems? Yes.

He then reminded me that the DNA200 has a fuse on the board as a measure of safety, and that not all DNA200 devices are equal. Sometimes the things we cannot easily see (wire gauges and wiring/soldering quality, 510 connects quality) can make a big difference. I then mentioned the Wismec Reuleaux which was cheaper, and he told me to rewatch DJLSB's review on it and take note of the part where Daniel wished it had thicker gauge wiring. I did so, and also ran a search on "Lost Vape quality". All that pushed me over the edge...I walked back to the shop and bought it. Till now I have no regrets. This mod will not be a carry-around...it'll remain at home and be only for my personal vaping pleasure. This is my first high-end vape device, and hopefully it will last a long time.

That's one really interesting back story right there.

I've got a feeling that this new search of mine for the elusive red-black VT133 is gonna end up turning into a similarly memorable story lol.

Just as my Pico story was lol (TL;DR... I got my Pico when it first hit - at a good price - the middle of the land of Budu and Mak Yong... while on a course lol).

I'm hopeful that the tale ends happily though... but, if all else fails, there's always RED CF... laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

EDIT: VE SS15 just called (God bless these helpful folks) and while they don't actually have the red-black in stock, they do have the next best thing... the red covers on its own.

With the 133 on offer at cheaper than even the Internetz could offer.

Looks like I'm gonna have to do an unscheduled daytrip to homebase again today lol. Ah vaping... source of so much drama. Watch out for a review on the 133 soon folks.

Congrats in advance on your upcoming VT133!! rclxms.gif

I believe you'll notice and enjoy the clean signal and comfy power curves (aah comfy to me, at least). A welcome break from pulse-width modulation and it's inherent "juddering".

I'd not call HCigar's VT133 "fugly" too...but tastes do differ. It has clean lines, and in a few ways, it reminds me of the IPV4 and 4s, both of which I have fond memories. There is much to be said about the beauty of zen-like simplicity in design. It's what I'd call an honest and straightforward mod. But I still can't get the Therion out of my head! bangwall.gif

Sorry to hear that. It happens to many vapers, myself included.

Even with the best of wicking, cotton eventually breaks down unexpectedly and *poof!* a leak happens. When I was pondering which mod to buy, I had surfed to many sites and in one forum (I can't remember which one...read too many till I was blur), someone said that the chip in Lost Vape devices have an internal enclosure which protects the chip/buttons from juice which somehow got inside from a leaky atty. The juice will run down the internal enclosure and pool at the bottom of the mod. It'll still be messy inside, but at least the electronics won't be damaged or short out. I have yet to check and see if what that fellow wrote was correct.

This got me thinking with regards to yr problem.....maybe u could look into fitting some similar form of internal enclosure to protect yr VT133 from future leaks?

Thanks, I try to be. Even started selling my juice to a few friends for cheap to support this hobby.

I've decided I wanted to spend on a solid mod as I am like you, always buying budget/value mods.
However, I don't see one that suits my needs which is:-
a) 2 18650s
b) Portable enough
c) DNA200

Tried my friend's Lavabox using my Subzero RDA, and my god was the vape smooth.

I believe Eiraku is making a good decision in getting a HCigar VT133...maybe u could consider that mod? VE is selling it, and if u have a Friends of VE card, I believe u can get 10% off.

Erm...maybe I should say this in case u didn't know....the chip inside a VT133 is an Evolv DNA200, but running on two 18650 batteries. So u get to play with escribe and tweak to your satisfaction.

As the DNA200 was originally designed to run at 200W on 3 x 3000mAh lipo packs bucking, running it on two 18650's brings down the max wattage output to 133, hence HCigar's brand name of VT133. Think of the DNA200 as being throttled down to 133W. It is possible for other mods to reach 200W on two 18650's but from what I read in the Evolv forum, the engineers did not want to do that in the interests of safety.

And yes...you hit the keyword..SMOOTH! That was what made my jaw drop when I first took a few puffs on the Triade biggrin.gif

The VE card discount doesn't work with the VT133 BTW, it's already heavily, heavily discounted right now (better price then the entire Internetz lol) so the card discount is void.

You get discounts for the batteries though (and everything else you buy): VE SS15 at least is stocking matte insulator HG2s. Also got a Maze RDA (tiny velodeck FTW) together with the VT so yay, more stuff to review.

Also, gonna fashion a leak-proofing o-sticker out of clear vinyl for the VT133's 510, considering the leaking issue (and how leaky/juicy the VeloV2 can be). Or maybe I'll just skip running the VeloV2 on the VT and just run my OTW Hastur V2s instead (which is pretty leak proof by design).

The Maze, being as tiny as it is (and therefore useless for the heavy builds I got the VT for), can go on the Nugget.

donatelo What RDA/tank did you use with your VT?

I reckon that juice leaks though those hex screws right (which was actually put there to enable you to open up the 510 to clean it ironically)? Or is it leaking though the pin itself? Or the screen (which funnily enough is actually a legit entry point for juice on the VT133 by design).

Maybe I'll open up the thing and stick stuff inside to help keep juice off the board. I mean, it's part of my review SOP to open stuff up anyway.

It's a shame, as right now the VT133 is the only dual batt DNA out there with a design I can "get into". Plus that VE discount sealing the deal lol.

Edit: DAMN... that DNA TC. Now that feels like REAL TC, rather than the basic "Temp-Limiting" I've been used to with the JT chip. And God, does it feel consistent as eff, and I haven't even tweaked it properly with eScribe yet.

If you're in KLIA2, u could snag one of these hats along with a goodie bag for answering a simple question...it'll matchy matchy yr new mod, which matches my camera, phone and tablet cover, adidas shoes n laces...all black n orange biggrin.gif
Bought a few more LG HG2's from AlexNg today...his insulators have always been matte. Crius Plus should hopefully arrive on tue/wed...think it'll look decent on the Triade.

Oooh Cirrus Plus. Myself I'm gonna just run RDAs on my VT - it's for @home dripping + coil experimentation use to begin with... I keep things simple for my ADV mods for efficiency's sake.

Also, as everyone can probably see from my pixxors, the red on the VT is actually very light red (similar to Shopee app red). It really doesn't look orange to me, though the lightness if the red might be giving out that impression, and that overly matt rubberised (plastidip-y) surface is really not helping lol.

I do plan to add some CF accents to the red cover, though not sure how the CF vinyl adhesive would react to the plastidippy surface. Oh well, I'll just need to find some red CF to use with the anodised black cover if Plan A doesn't work well then lol.

Now gonna read some eScribe starter guides a bit. Took a quick peek at eScribe with the VT hooked up to my Win 10 tablet (no laptop lol), and man... the amount of tweakable options are overwhelmingly bewildering lol.
