Most of the CSVs that come w/ my therion are incorrect and the same exact curves for NI200. Donno about triade. Maybe you can double check.
*
Bro I'm a fresh noob @ escribe, but will definitely become familiar with it once I have time/energy to thoroughly learn it. Never have been the one for TC stuff, however it'd be a waste of the chip if I didn't apply it and the preheat function etc to best advantage. Maybe this weekend I'll compare the Triade's CSVs with the numbers/curve generated by Steam Engine's Wire Wizard and give u some feedback.

Right now I'm happy enough that the 1/5th tank I vaped using that mod at the shop made my jaw drop (comparing to the vape on same atty/juice/coils/wattage from yihi and joyetech chips), that the battery door has no gaps, I can pop the batts without damaging the wraps, and the mod feels so darned good in my hand. Currently charging up 6 batts to be 2 sets of married ones and looking into leather treatments. This ain't just a mod...it's a work of art! If u have any maintenance tips for your Therion, I'd appreciate it. Dammit...now I want a Therion too! biggrin.gif moneyflies.gif

Well, won't deny that sometimes, the cost = quality equation does ring true (even if the law of diminishing returns overrides this, at least most of the time). And the Triade does look the part, even if I'm more a CF than leather type of guy.

Do update with more info regarding your eScribe adventure. Would like to see just how much better and more customizable the DNA experience really is.

Anyhow, my FT package has just been posted (wooo!). Time for the Great China (or Hong Kong) Postal Showdown between GB (RDA - NL Post) and FT (Mod - SingPost)... though it would be a pleasant surprise if both would have arrived by the time I get back to homebase in two weeks.

At least, hopefully they both arrive before the Nugget 2 comes out lol. Otherwise I saddingz.

Also, with the amount of stuff I am slowly collecting, I prolly need to start putting content up my blog again. Which also means I prolly need to update my WP install again sometime soon lol.

I like carbon fiber too...the real thing that is, not a faux carbon sticker. It was for this reason that I chose not to get Council of Vape's Tempest mod. After being alerted by a kind forumer that the Tempest was on FB vape auction, I looked more into the latest reviews on youtube. 2 reviewers (Mike Vapes and Vapin' Heathen) said the carbon fiber feels like a sticker. That was enough for me, and I didn't bother to bid. If the RRP was under RM180,a faux CF sticker is understandable....but not for RM280-300.

No need to wait for me to climb the DNA200 learning curve. My body aches, I'm bone-tired and the godrotting smell of airports and planes still lingers in my nostrils. These Pbusardo (hail the uber expert!) vids should explain plenty to you about the DNA200 and eScribe experiences FAR better than I ever could. I'll be watching them too...when my weary brain gets in the mood.

I don't use my mod regularly yet. Still learning using the escribe actually.Pico is my daily mod now. So,  no maintenance tips from me. Haha. I even don't care about the leather treatment until you bring it up. Haha. Maybe I will look about it after this. I just plan to channge the battery door after the leather worn on my mod, but maybe hard to get it here.

Go look after vape auction for therion. Can get cheaper than store for sure.
*
Re: leather care. Take a look at Timberland's Balm Proofer. It claims to protect against alcohol too...so I figure since PG and VG are forms of alcohol (think of juice leaking down onto the leather), this may be a good product to use.

http://www.timberland.com.my/product-care/

Thanks for the vape auction suggestion...but unless the auction is by an established company of some repute, I'll stick to B&M shops for the more expensive things cos I feel more at ease inspecting the item b4 paying.

Understood lol. Most "CF" being so far featured as material for mods have been more often than not, just full faux vinyl stickers or at most, a single layer CF sticker. As was on the Volt,
Tempest and the infamous Siggy 213.

But for the Tempest, it's probably inconsequential (the choice of CF stickers rather than "real" CF) as the price probably reflects more the chipset then the build... most DNA200s do go for around that price on the basis of the Evolve chip alone really.

That said, the Triade (and the Therion) does make that price slightly more palatable with their "premium" build... so much more than what the others are offering (ehem Stab Wood mod ehem).

As for figuring out eScribe, I myself will wait until I end up getting one... which looks like it's not gonna happen in quite a while. Sure the VT75 Nano looks nice... but the RX2/3 isn't nearly as expensive and does 150w on 2 batts/200w on 3... all on a single mod.

Makes justifying the "chip primium pricing" so, so much harder... no matter how well the chip performs vs the Joyetech one (which was an in house reverse-built clone of the DNA to begin with.. hence the JT/Evolve lawsuit).

But I'll probably get there... eventually.
*
Yup CoV's proprietary chip has a high unit cost in all probability. And they also charged a premium for the design of the Tempest too. Faux CF notwithstanding, it's still a beautiful mod with elegant battery sled to me. Prices r nearing the USD50 mark now. When it drops further to RX200s levels, I may pick up one...I know a guy who does excellent work on car seats/gun holsters, so replacing the faux leather with real may not be a difficult task.

But I think I'll start budgeting for a Therion first. For the first time I'm beginning to understand why the DNA chipset has a loyal following. Amortize the extra cost of a premium-priced chip over all the tokes we'll take, figure in the extra pleasure and satisfaction...and suddenly it seems rather justifiable to stump out the extra money. Yeah maybe I'm looking for excuses biggrin.gif

*
Not trying to poison u bro...but if u can, try to borrow an DNA200 mod and use yr fav atty + ADV at usual wattage on it. You owe it to yrself to feel the smoothness and consistency of the vape it produces. Tornado + Triade = vape heaven for me right now. After deducting the estimated cost of the 3 free LG yellows (est RM45 for 3 batts) that came with the mod, it's below RM500; but it was the last unit and the seller was flexible to a bit of bargaining. I see that VE's price is RM599 and Shopee is RM522.5 both without batts. Heck even the Therion is RM499 in Shopee. Hopefully prices will drop more and u can get a mod with that chip in it.

Thanks for the link. Going to check that out. Other than tornado, what other tank you use.? Need to find a new tank for my VT75 (hand itchy go open vape auction group and make  bid). Now I have three mod. 😥
*
Ever since I discovered the Tornado in early May, I've not really used any other tanks except for the Uwell Crown v1. My TFV4 (3 pcs), TFV4mini (2 pcs), Billow v3, zephyrus 1&2 etc have been sitting unused biggrin.gif. The Tornado really suits my palate very well because it accentuates the mid and high notes of my DIY citrus juices in a way that no other tank in my possession can match (the Crown comes very close though). Heck even my drippers can't do as well.

I connected the Triade to the PC for the first time just now, and took a screenshot with the Tornado on, at my usual 42.5W. Will play more with eScribe this weekend and see if I can find Lost Vape's preloaded settings to compare with CSV output from Steam Engine. But honestly speaking, I am so happy with the vape quality...so smooth...none of the usual harshness or "juddering" of the flavors if I take a toke longer than 3 seconds. My only regret is that I didn't buy a DNA200 device much earlier, being a poorfag cheapskate. Clouds n flava broooo biggrin.gif

Thats a lot of tank you have. Maybe selling some of it to get yourself another dna mod. Haha. Currently pair the Therion with my Kayfun V5 clone. The flavour is great and love the restrictive lung hit. Already spending to much on vape gear. Maybe i just kept VT75 and Therion back in the box for a while until can spend more on new tank and use my Pico as my daily driver for now.
*
Already sold off a few, and gave away a few...I may sell more, or slowly give to vape brudders near me who have proven to be serious and successful in quitting cigs, as a kind of reward smile.gif

I've been doing some very serious thinking...having fallen totally in vapelust with the Evolv chip. If this is the kind of quality across their product range, I want more!

Firstly, a single battery DNA75 mod for carrying about. And secondly, I'm really jonesing for a Therion like yours....the ebony wood inlays and leather along with the beautifully constructed chassis cannot leave my mind! But I'd prefer it to be 133W instead because at times I go nuts at 90-100+W (estimated at about 15% of my vaping time), and a dual batt Therion is still ok to carry about. Hopefully Lost Vape will come out with a dual batt DNA200 chip version (effectively 133W max output). In fact, I'm gonna write in to them and ask if they have such intent.

I've also been keeping tabs on the Whiteout modular mod; my original intent was to shove in a Yihi SX350J but that model doesn't seem to be available yet. Same goes for their DNA200 version...it only takes lipo packs, no sign of the dual 18650 version so far.

The Pico is a decent mod and hella cute...the two i have are still working reliably. For a very short while, I was tempted to order a Pico Mega and a few 26650 batts, but not any more. Gotta make the budget for a few more DNA's biggrin.gif

Been looking at 25mm tanks to put on the Triade...think I'll get a Crius Plus.
Was tempted by the VCMT 25mm version (30mm is a bit too huge for me), but it seems to leak too easily. I may get one if I manage to resurrect a dead mod or two after swapping out the crap 510...if that tank leaks on the old mod, no worries biggrin.gif

Maybe you should consider VT75Nano, really small mod for everyday carry. I doubt I will use more than 50W, so DNA75 is enough for me.

Lost Vape should just put DNA200 chip inside Therion and called Therion V2.  😁
*
Thanks for the suggestion! Nice small mod, most pocket-friendly. I watched Nichard Rg's ( biggrin.gif ) review and have to agree that a D-ring on the battery cover would be way better than faffing around with the magnet. I think Hcigar likes to troll customers...the VT75 gives shocks and the VT75 Nano's battery cover makes ppl frus. But I will seriously consider it if the cover's improved.

And I agree 110%...DNA200 in the Therion and I'll rush to buy one today, no hesitation whatsoever!

Re: The most plausible explanation for the variances in Lost Vape CSV and real world TC performance

http://www.djlsbvapes.com/dna200/ Daniel wrote "... if you setup your Temperature Control profiles with the TCR of each type of wire, you will have an more accurate temperature and more stable vape as you can see on my testing...".

Temperature variance between preset and actual were as much as 29F while using CSV. So I guess we're better off using TCR instead. There may be more on this situation in PBusardo's vids, but I have yet to watch them.

Lost Vape's website is a mess with too much chinglish. I've written to their facebook regarding a 133W Therion. Maybe if enough ppl write in, they'll listen. Mike Vapes also voiced out the desire for such a mod in his Therion review.

By-the-bye, Lost Vape's 510 is an absolute joy!

The Therion is one sexy beast, the price tho.. Waaaay over my vape budget, one of those things where it's only nice to see.
*
You are being a very sensible and thrifty vaper. Kudos to you!! We should always make a budget that is comfortably within our means, and stick to it the best we can. We also have to think about value for money, and the utility of the things we buy.

Under normal circumstances I would have never bought a high-end mod. Till today I have had 4 mods which died/giving me problems (eg random self-firing, sticky 510 connects etc). They were all budget devices. After I saw the Triade and fell in vapelust, I forced myself to walk away from the shop. Sat down at my usual chicken rice stall in SS15 for a long time, thinking....to buy it or go for yet another budget mod.

After finishing my chicken rice lunch, I whatsapped an old vaping buddy and sought his opinion. He asked me a few pointed questions: could I afford it? Yes. Isn't it better to have one quality device than to keep buying cheaper mods again and again only to have them fail or cause problems? Yes.

He then reminded me that the DNA200 has a fuse on the board as a measure of safety, and that not all DNA200 devices are equal. Sometimes the things we cannot easily see (wire gauges and wiring/soldering quality, 510 connects quality) can make a big difference. I then mentioned the Wismec Reuleaux which was cheaper, and he told me to rewatch DJLSB's review on it and take note of the part where Daniel wished it had thicker gauge wiring. I did so, and also ran a search on "Lost Vape quality". All that pushed me over the edge...I walked back to the shop and bought it. Till now I have no regrets. This mod will not be a carry-around...it'll remain at home and be only for my personal vaping pleasure. This is my first high-end vape device, and hopefully it will last a long time.

That's one really interesting back story right there.

I've got a feeling that this new search of mine for the elusive red-black VT133 is gonna end up turning into a similarly memorable story lol.

Just as my Pico story was lol (TL;DR... I got my Pico when it first hit - at a good price - the middle of the land of Budu and Mak Yong... while on a course lol).

I'm hopeful that the tale ends happily though... but, if all else fails, there's always RED CF... laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

EDIT: VE SS15 just called (God bless these helpful folks) and while they don't actually have the red-black in stock, they do have the next best thing... the red covers on its own.

With the 133 on offer at cheaper than even the Internetz could offer.

Looks like I'm gonna have to do an unscheduled daytrip to homebase again today lol. Ah vaping... source of so much drama. Watch out for a review on the 133 soon folks.

Congrats in advance on your upcoming VT133!! rclxms.gif

I believe you'll notice and enjoy the clean signal and comfy power curves (aah comfy to me, at least). A welcome break from pulse-width modulation and it's inherent "juddering".

I'd not call HCigar's VT133 "fugly" too...but tastes do differ. It has clean lines, and in a few ways, it reminds me of the IPV4 and 4s, both of which I have fond memories. There is much to be said about the beauty of zen-like simplicity in design. It's what I'd call an honest and straightforward mod. But I still can't get the Therion out of my head! bangwall.gif

*
Sorry to hear that. It happens to many vapers, myself included.

Even with the best of wicking, cotton eventually breaks down unexpectedly and *poof!* a leak happens. When I was pondering which mod to buy, I had surfed to many sites and in one forum (I can't remember which one...read too many till I was blur), someone said that the chip in Lost Vape devices have an internal enclosure which protects the chip/buttons from juice which somehow got inside from a leaky atty. The juice will run down the internal enclosure and pool at the bottom of the mod. It'll still be messy inside, but at least the electronics won't be damaged or short out. I have yet to check and see if what that fellow wrote was correct.

This got me thinking with regards to yr problem.....maybe u could look into fitting some similar form of internal enclosure to protect yr VT133 from future leaks?

Thanks, I try to be. Even started selling my juice to a few friends for cheap to support this hobby.

I've decided I wanted to spend on a solid mod as I am like you, always buying budget/value mods.
However, I don't see one that suits my needs which is:-
a) 2 18650s
b) Portable enough
c) DNA200

Tried my friend's Lavabox using my Subzero RDA, and my god was the vape smooth.
*
I believe Eiraku is making a good decision in getting a HCigar VT133...maybe u could consider that mod? VE is selling it, and if u have a Friends of VE card, I believe u can get 10% off.

Erm...maybe I should say this in case u didn't know....the chip inside a VT133 is an Evolv DNA200, but running on two 18650 batteries. So u get to play with escribe and tweak to your satisfaction.

As the DNA200 was originally designed to run at 200W on 3 x 3000mAh lipo packs bucking, running it on two 18650's brings down the max wattage output to 133, hence HCigar's brand name of VT133. Think of the DNA200 as being throttled down to 133W. It is possible for other mods to reach 200W on two 18650's but from what I read in the Evolv forum, the engineers did not want to do that in the interests of safety.

And yes...you hit the keyword..SMOOTH! That was what made my jaw drop when I first took a few puffs on the Triade biggrin.gif

The VE card discount doesn't work with the VT133 BTW, it's already heavily, heavily discounted right now (better price then the entire Internetz lol) so the card discount is void.

You get discounts for the batteries though (and everything else you buy): VE SS15 at least is stocking matte insulator HG2s. Also got a Maze RDA (tiny velodeck FTW) together with the VT so yay, more stuff to review.

Also, gonna fashion a leak-proofing o-sticker out of clear vinyl for the VT133's 510, considering the leaking issue (and how leaky/juicy the VeloV2 can be). Or maybe I'll just skip running the VeloV2 on the VT and just run my OTW Hastur V2s instead (which is pretty leak proof by design).

The Maze, being as tiny as it is (and therefore useless for the heavy builds I got the VT for), can go on the Nugget.

donatelo What RDA/tank did you use with your VT?

I reckon that juice leaks though those hex screws right (which was actually put there to enable you to open up the 510 to clean it ironically)? Or is it leaking though the pin itself? Or the screen (which funnily enough is actually a legit entry point for juice on the VT133 by design).

Maybe I'll open up the thing and stick stuff inside to help keep juice off the board. I mean, it's part of my review SOP to open stuff up anyway.

It's a shame, as right now the VT133 is the only dual batt DNA out there with a design I can "get into". Plus that VE discount lol.

Edit: DAMN... that DNA TC. Now that feels like REAL TC, rather than the basic "Temp-Limiting" I've been used to with the JT chip. And God, does it feel consistent as eff, and I haven't even tweaked it properly with eScribe yet.
*
If you're in KLIA2, u could snag one of these hats along with a goodie bag for answering a simple question...it'll matchy matchy yr new mod, which matches my camera, phone and tablet cover, adidas shoes n laces...all black n orange biggrin.gif
Bought a few more LG HG2's from AlexNg today...his insulators have always been matte. Crius Plus should hopefully arrive on tue/wed...think it'll look decent on the Triade.
