is it just me or anyone else lost their interest in big mods once u go small
i'm a huge fan for minivolt ekceli, but v1 got so many issue i decided to get the nugget instead. but i heard v2 is better, no issue currently
question is, any tanks to suggest pretty enough to pair it with?
Serp Mini, GV Cado (which you already have so yeah), CoilArt Mage, Tesla Carate, Innokin Axiom, Augvape Merlin, GV Griffin Mini, Aromanizer V2, Tornado Nano... take your pick. Personally a fan of the Serp, Cado and the Aromanizer V2 - more or less due to the fact that they all fit the Pico lol.
Also THIS will be out soon (and yeah definitely getting one myself):

PLUS a Youde Cado-type Genny-like called the Mesmer (no pix unfortunately).
As for small mods, I currently don't have anything dual batt just coz I don't have a need for them (yet) and I really lazy wanna marry batts and keep them wed. Biggest of what I have is... err... the VTC Mini lol.
RX2/3 will probably be my upgrade path if ever I need anything more than 75w... I do like the looks.

Well, won't deny that sometimes, the cost = quality equation does ring true (even if the law of diminishing returns overrides this, at least most of the time). And the Triade does look the part, even if I'm more a CF than leather type of guy.
Do update with more info regarding your eScribe adventure. Would like to see just how much better and more customizable the DNA experience really is.
Anyhow, my FT package has just been posted (wooo!). Time for the Great China (or Hong Kong) Postal Showdown between GB (RDA - NL Post) and FT (Mod - SingPost)... though it would be a pleasant surprise if both would have arrived by the time I get back to homebase in two weeks.
At least, hopefully they both arrive before the Nugget 2 comes out lol. Otherwise I saddingz.
Also, with the amount of stuff I am slowly collecting, I prolly need to start putting content up my blog again. Which also means I prolly need to update my WP install again sometime soon lol.
I like carbon fiber too...the real thing that is, not a faux carbon sticker. It was for this reason that I chose not to get Council of Vape's Tempest mod. After being alerted by a kind forumer that the Tempest was on FB vape auction, I looked more into the latest reviews on youtube. 2 reviewers (Mike Vapes and Vapin' Heathen) said the carbon fiber feels like a sticker. That was enough for me, and I didn't bother to bid. If the RRP was under RM180,a faux CF sticker is understandable....but not for RM280-300.
No need to wait for me to climb the DNA200 learning curve. My body aches, I'm bone-tired and the godrotting smell of airports and planes still lingers in my nostrils. These Pbusardo (hail the uber expert!) vids should explain plenty to you about the DNA200 and eScribe experiences FAR better than I ever could. I'll be watching them too...when my weary brain gets in the mood.
I don't use my mod regularly yet. Still learning using the escribe actually.Pico is my daily mod now. So, no maintenance tips from me. Haha. I even don't care about the leather treatment until you bring it up. Haha. Maybe I will look about it after this. I just plan to channge the battery door after the leather worn on my mod, but maybe hard to get it here.
Go look after vape auction for therion. Can get cheaper than store for sure.
Re: leather care. Take a look at Timberland's Balm Proofer. It claims to protect against alcohol too...so I figure since PG and VG are forms of alcohol (think of juice leaking down onto the leather), this may be a good product to use.
Thanks for the vape auction suggestion...but unless the auction is by an established company of some repute, I'll stick to B&M shops for the more expensive things cos I feel more at ease inspecting the item b4 paying.

Understood lol. Most "CF" being so far featured as material for mods have been more often than not, just full faux vinyl stickers or at most, a single layer CF sticker. As was on the Volt, Tempest and the infamous Siggy 213.
But for the Tempest, it's probably inconsequential (the choice of CF stickers rather than "real" CF) as the price probably reflects more the chipset then the build... most DNA200s do go for around that price on the basis of the Evolve chip alone really.
That said, the Triade (and the Therion) does make that price slightly more palatable with their "premium" build... so much more than what the others are offering (ehem Stab Wood mod ehem).
As for figuring out eScribe, I myself will wait until I end up getting one... which looks like it's not gonna happen in quite a while. Sure the VT75 Nano looks nice... but the RX2/3 isn't nearly as expensive and does 150w on 2 batts/200w on 3... all on a single mod.
Makes justifying the "chip primium pricing" so, so much harder... no matter how well the chip performs vs the Joyetech one (which was an in house reverse-built clone of the DNA to begin with.. hence the JT/Evolve lawsuit).
But I'll probably get there... eventually.

Yup CoV's proprietary chip has a high unit cost in all probability. And they also charged a premium for the design of the Tempest too. Faux CF notwithstanding, it's still a beautiful mod with elegant battery sled to me. Prices r nearing the USD50 mark now. When it drops further to RX200s levels, I may pick up one...I know a guy who does excellent work on car seats/gun holsters, so replacing the faux leather with real may not be a difficult task.
But I think I'll start budgeting for a Therion first. For the first time I'm beginning to understand why the DNA chipset has a loyal following. Amortize the extra cost of a premium-priced chip over all the tokes we'll take, figure in the extra pleasure and satisfaction...and suddenly it seems rather justifiable to stump out the extra money. Yeah maybe I'm looking for excuses

Nah DNA200 chip seem worth the penny, well spent but too pricy for me. Gonna wait until it has discount or whatsoever.
If you up a bit can get Russian 91%, If up a little bit more can get Russian v3 or even Kayfun Lite Plus. Do bear in mind that this kinda tank got tight air-hole.
Otherwise you can try something like Serpent or Tornado which falls into RM 100 plus minus category.
There are three main classes of e-cigarette: mini, mid-size and APV. Each has its advantages and disadvantages, which are briefly outlined here. 1. Minis A mini or regular-size ecigarette is usually the newcomer's first choice, because these models look and feel similar to a cigarette. A mini is a good way to try out the system at minimum cost. Although they have a million brand names, they are all in fact models with a recognised series number that distinguishes them from others by their thread type and fit. In other words a 'Whizzocig' will turn out to be a KR808 or whatever. If you know the model series then you can mix 'n match parts from other vendors since they will almost certainly fit - there are no proprietary models despite what the makers may claim; all have a model number. These are called 1st-generation models as they were the first to be invented. Originally all these models used the 3-piece system, with a battery-atomizer-cartridge. Now about 95% use the 2-piece system of battery-cartomizer. A cartomizer combines the atomizer and liquid reservoir in one unit. Polls tell us that about 8% of forum members continue to use these models frequently, although many more keep one as a back-up or loan model. The batteries range from 125mAh size up to about 280mAh. A mini is a good choice for discreet use, and as an initiation to the ecig concept. If a model is chosen that looks exactly like a cigarette - white with a red LED tip - then it can be used where you would smoke a cigarette; but don't try using it indoors because people will assume you are smoking and no amount of explanation will fix it as there is bound to be confusion or resentment from some. Instead, get a black one with a blue or green tip, it will create less problems because it is harder to confuse with a tobacco cigarette. The models include the 510, 901, M401 and KR808 (often shortened to KR8).
Advantages: Looks and feels like a cigarette Small and discreet Auto and manual models Cheapest way to get started Parts can be re-used if you know the model type Ideal for light smokers or occasional smokers
Disadvantages: Batteries do not last long in use - from 45 minutes to 2 hours for some users The other two physically larger classes have better performance Will probably not provide sufficient performance for heavy smokers or full-flavor smokers The auto batteries can be destroyed by liquid leaking due to over-enthusiastic refilling
2. Mid-size The mid-size ecig is the #1 rated model type because it suits most vapers, either as the main device or the main back-up. The common names are eGo, Riva, Tornado, kGo and others. These 2nd-generation models have a much larger battery size of at least 650mAh. This has three important results: The batteries last longer in use; They produce more vapor than a mini; They can use a much wider range of heads, including - crucially - the LR type, which produce more vapor. All kinds of tanks and other exotic heads can be used (the liquid reservoir and mouthpiece arrangements). Most of these models are based on the 510 range although some use the KR8 thread. This is the type upon which all ecig measurements and values should be based: it is the average in all respects - probably about three-quarters of forum members either use one as their main device or keep one as a back-up.
Advantages: Not too expensive to get started - maybe 50% more than a mini The 510 series threading most used has a huge range of heads The small, 650mAh battery is reasonably small for those who want it discreet Looks and feels like a cigar, so it's not too big Double the performance of any mini - double the vapor Batteries last well in use, the bigger batteries around 1,000mAh can last up to 8 hours for some vapers Should provide sufficient performance for most smokers, especially newcomers The #1 rated type of ecig for good reason - suits more users than any other type
Disadvantages: Almost exclusively these are manual ecigs - a disadvantage to newcomers although an advantage to experienced users Slightly more expensive to start out with Ultimate performance is not possible as the battery power/voltage is not sufficient
3. APVs Advanced personal vaporizers (aka 'mods') are the logical progression and development of the ecig concept for those who want ultimate performance. They can be defined simply as any model that employs user-replaceable generic batteries and/or has a function not normally available in a mini or mid-size e-cigarette. There are two main classes of APV: the tubular shaped tubemods and the box shaped boxmods, and three sub-types: mechanical, basic electrical or electronic. hey do not normally suit newcomers because they are too big, or weird-looking, or too fiddly to use; plus all are manual-switch models. These are 2nd-gen or 3rd-generation devices. Almost all have a hugely extended battery life over the minis, and they mostly use generic 3.7 volt lithium rechargeables that can be bought from many sources. An APV will normally look like a fat tube reminiscent of a flashlight with a mouthpiece (a tubemod), or a box the size of a pack of cigarettes with a mouthpiece (a boxmod). the big advantage is the performance that large batteries deliver, plus the advanced functions and features that are variously available according to the individual model: integral liquid feed, digital readout, variable voltage, full electronic control, solid metal construction, or attractive wooden construction with inlays, and so on. We suggest that an APV is not purchased as the first model by a newcomer, but instead a mid-size (or mini) is first used to gain familiarity with all the many aspects of vaping. This also has the advantage that there will be a better appreciation of the many issues if choosing an APV later on.
Advantages: Massive performance gains: three times or more than any mini - treble the vapor volume Extended battery life Solid construction Some of the base units may last a lifetime The advanced functions are extremely useful Batteries last a very long time in use, the average is 8 hours although some can last for days Will provide sufficient performance for any smoker
Disadvantages: Expensive to set up with - some base units are over $200, though there are many far cheaper These are all manual models - a disadvantage to newcomers although an advantage to experienced users Some care with battery charging is needed, as large lithium ion cells need treating with respect

WHY BATTERIES EXPLODE: - mech mods with LOW AMPERES BATTERIES & LOW OHMS (NEW TO VAPING DO NOT USE MECH MODS!)
- unbranded batteries that CLAIMS HIGH AMPERES (Max. continuous discharge current HIGHER THAN 30A WITH HIGH mAH!
- heat shrink HAS been damaged but did not replace CAN cause explosion due to battery will VENT!
HOW TO VAPE SAFELY:
- USE GENUINE & BRANDED SUCH AS LG (CURRENTLY RATED #1), SAMSUNG (#2), SONY (#3) AS OF NOW!
- MAKE SURE THERE'S NO HEAT SHRINK DAMAGE ON THE BATTERY! (YOU CAN RE-WRAP THE HEAT SHRINK BATTERIES BY PURCHASING @ FASTTECH). Not sure where you can purchase in Malaysia now!
- MECHANICAL MOD VAPERS, LEARN HOW TO CALCULATE AMPERAGE AND LEARN ABOUT OHM'S LAW! CALCULATOR: http://vapecalc.com/
- REGULATED MODS (Evolv chips, YIHI chips, etc) FORMULA: Ampere = Watts / Voltage (battery voltage which is 2.5V when the battery almost depleted and 3.7V~ when full battery) NOT VOLTAGE SHOWN ON THE DEVICE'S SCREEN! Ampere is YOUR BATTERY (Max. continuous discharge current!) battery knowledge

Step 2: Buat ejuice Untuk buat Strawberry ejuice 10ml, resepi adalah: • 20% TPA/TFA Strawberry Ripe - 2ml • 60% Premix base - 6ml • 20% VG - 2ml • 2 titik suc (sikit sangat, % diabaikan)
Untuk 30ml, kali 3. untuk 50ml, kali 5. untuk 100ml ejuice, kali 10 (Strawberry Ripe perlu 20ml contohnya). Buat batch besar macam 100ml bila rasa ejuice dah sedap.
Goncang secukup rasa. Tunggu bubble hilang, lepas tu cuba. Kalau buat 50ml/100ml, senang sikit pasal boleh pakai coffee foam stirrer tu je.
Untuk Creamy Vanilla: • 12% Vanilla Swirl • 12% Bavarian Cream Untuk semua resepi, tambah sucralose ikut sedap tekak sendiri.
Step 3: Test dan adjust Lepas buat 10ml batch, cuba test dekat dripper. Kalau tak cukup manis, tambah setitik lagi sucralose, goncang sampai cramp tangan, dan test lagi. Ulang sampai sedap. Boleh pakai cara sama untuk citrik asid. Nota: Kalau hanya pakai flavour buah, selalunya boleh test straight away lepas bubble dah hilang. (atau lepas letak botol dalam air separa panas selama seminit dua). Kalau biar seminggu, lagi sedap. Kalau flavour berkrim, kena peram lama sikit.
Step 4: Kalau rasa takde kick Kalau takde kick, ada 2 sebab: Flavour tak cukup % PG kurang (pasal perasa tak cukup kuat rasa) Alternatif: Daripada buat 50/50 6mg, buat 70/30 6mg 20% flavour - 2ml 60% premix base - 6ml 20% PG (ganti VG) -2ml
Alternatif #2: Tambah penguat rasa/flavour enhancer (akan ditulis bila ako rajin, di masa akan datang tongue.gif)

Not trying to poison u bro...but if u can, try to borrow an DNA200 mod and use yr fav atty + ADV at usual wattage on it. You owe it to yrself to feel the smoothness and consistency of the vape it produces. Tornado + Triade = vape heaven for me right now. After deducting the estimated cost of the 3 free LG yellows (est RM45 for 3 batts) that came with the mod, it's below RM500; but it was the last unit and the seller was flexible to a bit of bargaining. I see that VE's price is RM599 and Shopee is RM522.5 both without batts. Heck even the Therion is RM499 in Shopee. Hopefully prices will drop more and u can get a mod with that chip in it.
