ok ... lets assume u wanna start with something that is 3D capable
with helis its is almost unavoidable to crash when new and learning ... unless u super genius laa tongue.gif
so with a collective pitch heli which is 3D capable ... comes HIGH HEADSPEED (very high speed blades)
so when u crash something that is spinning very fast ... chances are u will break more things than a slow speed one
fixed pitch are not 3D capable but running at much slower headspeeds ...

all in all ... if u are financially ready for repairs and down time of a CP or 3D capable heli ... then go for it
a fixed pitch will be easier and cheaper to fix tongue.gif

i think mentioned earlier is oso the size PROs and CONs ...
small = lesser damage but hard to learn
big = bigger damage but easier to learn laa

small things normally cheaper than those big ones ... hehehehe

ESKY KING 2 ??
eerr .... parts not really cheap ... so better get a better chassis costing abit more but better for u in the long run
but its up to u to start with something u are comfortable with ... do some research around on what are your other options besides ESKY KING 2 ..
i am not saying its not good ... alot of ppl started with ESKY (me included) .. hehehe
as long as it gets u into the hobby and is teaching u something new then fine ...
but i would suggest u to get the honeybee FP around rm350 ready to fly if u really want ESKY ... it takes crashes better and therefore alot less repair time and more flying time ... hehehe
*
Its not easy also to fly honeybee FP. Hahaha... But it is much more cheaper to repair compare to Esky K3 or Belt CP V2... Part also lot's...

actually i started out my 1st heli with honeybee FP because my research on the google, and all guai lou said thats the easiest to fly... it is indeed cheap to repair and fun to fly.. i bought a king 2 at the same time, so i flew my FP 1st, while my frenz flew king2 straight away, he even remove the landing gear after 2 flights, while i still on my FP. so i must say, it all comes to how fast a guy can learn heli...

and one more thing about 450 and above is that u MUST have time and patience to do the repair/ resetting work each time u crash... i have sold many helis, and have seen alot of ppl quiting just after the 1st few flights. They are lazy to repair, have no knowledge, and thing that oh i crash, pick it up and fly again... BUT in my case, many times i pick up and fly. haha... depends where u crash...

oh one more thing to note on the FP is that even though the blade is plastic, doesn't break at all, but it gets deformed and the pitch will be different for both blades... so u can't use it also...

so if u guys want to save, here is a good tip. go get urself a good simulator like phoenix (my favourite), G4, Reflex XTR, or aerofly... just stay away from FMS as it doesn't help at all... then fly it like allan do, for about 2 hours/day.... until the time u can spot hover in all orientation, then buy the heli. But 10/10 are too anxious including me, that we buy and bash the heli 1st, then after cannot tahan, move to simulator.. another usage of simulator is for u to try out 3D moves, and to link them up.. so i must say simulator is a must! (unless u are so rich).... till now i also fly sim to practice 3D move.

And if u really must get a heli, think about radio and gyro 1st, heli last... u need to have a good radio, which i would recommend Spektrum DX6i or DX7, or the JR DSX7. as for Gyro, if u can afford, of course get the GY401, but if u can't, i strongly recommend Assan GA-410. I have sold alot coz ppl are very happy with the result, rather similar to GY401, but almost half the price...

happy hunting and dreaming ur heli.

hmmmm ... good radio
DX7 and DX6i alot of good to excellent feedbacks on forums
7C and 9C oso same ...
i suppose at the end of the day it all comes back to how COMFORTABLE we feel with the radio la rite ?? hehehe
i really dislike the ESKY TX .. the sticks with the sharp ends really hurts the thumb after longer period ... but for now no choice use it for sim .. hehehe

i can fly FFF ... backward ... inverted FF without crashing in sim .. tail down funnels oso ... hehehehe
maybe i just buy a radio 1st then later only buy heli ... just like uniquexme said ... at least i can use it for my sim ... hahahahaaa

another review i read on the ASSAN gyro is ... not consistent ... today may be very solid and good ... tomoro suddenly not working well .. maybe bad batch laaa
i have oso read alternative to digi servo 9257 but cheaper with similar performance is the JR3500 .. uniquexme got try b4 ah ??

My ESKY TX go nuts once luckily i was using Sim that time. All the channel shot up and down. After that I have to change it.
DX6i, DX7 or DSX7 is good.
I'm using DXS7 now, and it is perfect for my 450.

I use Hyperion HP-DS12-GCP for my KDS 400 (Clone of GY401) which i bought from hobbysportz.
It is good servo faster than 9257, yet don't need to step down the voltage to 4.8v.
I found that Hyperion produce many of good servo yet cheaper.

I found this quite useful for beginner. http://www.swashplate.co.uk/html/ehbg.html

Not so easy for the paint to stick on the polished finishing of most cabin. Have to use sand paper to make the surface rough but then it will make the surface uneven for gloss finishing.

So, what kind of blades you guys use for flying? wood, glass fiber, or carbon fiber?

i destroyed 2 sets of the ORI blades that came with the heli
then the last round destroyed another set of wooden ones .. during that time oso destroyed swashplate ball .. hahahaha
now waiting for parts

wooden ones are better for beginners coz heavy and will act as a heavier flybar ... hehehe

actually if u dont want belt or motorised tail .. the only other option currently available is the torque tube
but there is another alternative to the torque tube (this is the expensive part ma) ... hehehe
u just got to read on more about what some ppl do without the belt part ... but instead got the whole tail running torque tube style without the torque tube coz they oso cannot tahan changing the torque tube so expensive after crash ... hahahahahaa

How much is the 450 pro? I think it is not cheap, right?
Plan to get my first outdoor helli before end of the year! I owned an indoor lama v4 and still at learning stage blush.gif I broke my original blade few days ago and changed to the new spare blade. I have learned a lot of things for the past few weeks.....learned how to adjust the gain and proportional pot, swash plate, stabilizer and more. Lately my lama facing TBE problem and managed to solved it by adjust the link of the stabilizer bar.

I'm aiming CopterX, Trex450 and Thunder Titan. I think Trex 450 is the most expensive...correct me if i'm wrong. I may get CopterX as it is the cheapest and also recommended by our sifu here. I will avoid e-sky liao... biggrin.gif
