yes, agree. Once you drive a SUV (especially Subaru), hard to go back to Sedan.

QUOTE(frankzane @ May 24 2017, 01:54 PM) I am not sure whether mine is this exact brand, but i have fixed this in my XV more than 1 year already. Initially it was quite hard to find when I got my XV about 3 years ago, no manufacturer has for XV. But around Aug 2015 finally they produce the model. I bought from Sh@rty 5 at the garage forum here. Feel very unsecured without this lock after got used to it when i have it installed in my previous Nissan Grand Livina. |

QUOTE(Syfq @ Jul 3 2017, 10:51 AM) Get the Forester, I think more worth it coz the price differ not that much. When I was getting my XV, no CKD Forester yet. The price of the Forester now is the same as I what paid for my XV 3.5 years ago. |

QUOTE(littlefire @ Sep 27 2017, 08:52 AM) Major issue? I believe no, important mechanical parts like engine & gearbox is well built and rarely heard of gearbox or engine breakdown on the road. yes, this one i can attest as mine is spoilt around 50k km and was replaced under warranty for both side although only 1 side got problem.Minor issue - Yes, if you are those people which prefer good NVH Xv is not a quiet vehicle to begin with compare to Forester or other makes. You can hear like wind noise after like 110km/h above & some minor noise at uneven roads. If you still like Xv you can do noise damping or add on rubber insulation at later stage. Another Achilles heel of this current Xv is the rear wheel bearing, many claim that this bearing is easy to wear off around 60k so if you lucky you can claim it under 3 years or 60k warranty period. If not you may need to standby around MYR600++ for Japan original bearing hub or MYR300++ for China GSP bearing hub. |

QUOTE(blackcat92 @ Jan 12 2018, 02:34 PM) On top of the centre display - on the flat plastic cover the centre small display (avg oil consumption, temperature, etc. on my 2013 XV). If holding phone horizontally, it won't block the centre display but if holding a tablet, the centre display will be blocked. Have been using it for about a year, quite sturdy and long lasting. |

Just test drive my wife's new HRV this morning sending kids to school. The steering is much lighter than my XV (2013). Ride is surprisingly more bumpy than I thought, maybe the tyre pressure is too high, I am not too sure.
The HRV dash is definitely much nicer than XV but the lack of Navigation even for the top specs is so stingy of Honda. The brake hold and electric hand brake is nice. And the ability of the rear seats to fold up is really genius of Honda, for accommodating tall items like flower plant, especially now for CNY. And last but not least - the seat belt warning tune is so much more "civilize" than the rude sound from my XV. The 4 years old Kenwood headunit on my XV also starting to malfunction, time to look for a nicer one. Any recommendations? Thank you. This post has been edited by Cynox: Feb 6 2018, 10:18 AM |

QUOTE(jacobngen87 @ Feb 6 2018, 10:34 AM) Are yu sure? I owned both HRV and Forester and the Forester dashboard is definitely much nicer and of better quality than the HRV. The cargo space are much bigger too than the HRV when you fold the seats down completely flat Yes, I am very sure, I am comparing XV to HRV, not Forester. Forester is much much better than XV in term of everything. Hrv suspension is indeed very bumpy cos it's based on the jazz platform and rear is torsion beam which is very uncomfortable over medium to long distance driving. We only use it for city driving since its smaller and easier to park Not sure about XV but the Forester rear is double wishbone and is a hell lot better and soaks up the bumps and uneven road surfaces like a champ vs the HRV Hrv 0 to 60 feels a tad faster but 0 to 100 is about the same for both considering the Forrester weighs like 300kg more Nevermind, my target is next year new Forester with sunroof. Edit: One more comparison - HRV side mirrors are very small, lots of blind spot area while driving. Visibility is definitely Subaru wins hands down. QUOTE(andrew_tba @ Feb 6 2018, 10:48 AM) Cynox, have test driven the new XV? Maybe you can let us. know what you think of the new version compared to your older XV ans your wife's HrV, (which version / spec of HrV is your wife driving?) Or is it you will never buy another Subaru due to your current experience? I have yet to have chance to test drive the new XV, only sit in a show unit at a shopping mall roadshow. The interior looks and feels much much more premium than my first gen XV. My only few complaint about my first gen XV - noise insulation, small boot and mediocre headunit. My wife's HRV is the latest V-Specs, not the incoming facelift version though. As mentioned in the above post, my next car will definitely be a Subaru, most likely Forester 2019. If they bring in the big Ascent, will consider too. |

QUOTE(andrew_tba @ Feb 6 2018, 11:07 AM) Forrester and Ascent is a segment up... if pricing is not an issue, include features and accessories Malaysia 's Subaru throws in, I may consider too. Even current XV, is different from other asia' s market. price wise, Forester and XV does not differ that much but quality wise sure Forester wins by quite a lot. When I bought my XV in 2013, Forester was not available back then. |
