Any recommendation for tire for XV? My front 2 pieces is due for changes soon. Currently using Continental (CC5 I think). Thanks. smile.gif

RE003 / PS3 / F1A2.

I'm using RE003

How's RE003 noise and handling comparing to OEM Continental?

Thanks for the advice. smile.gif

Yala.. I know. Test drove one 2015 XT at Ipoh last month. Really blow my mind! Wish I could test it out at the Cameron roads
*
Even without the Turbo, driving the XV up and down Cameron is really a great experience. The climbing to the peak of Mossy Forest is really a trilling experience. Too bad my dashcam memory card is overwritten by the later footage due to insufficient memory card size. cry.gif

I can't really imagine how u guys can still think of mod after spending over 200k. even my XV, i m in some sort hate & love feeling.

I also worry after spending on mod and things just doesn't works as expected. Had a not so good experience with my previous car after changing rim. the original steel rim feels more stable.  this experience tells me to take original or nothing which I end up with STI Performance model.  rclxms.gif
*
yes, I have the same thought too after changing RIM and other minor mods on my previous cars. Done only some cosmetics add-on to my XV this time. Quite a few time have the impulse to change the Kenwood HU with no bluetooth audio to connect to phone (yes, it do have BT calling) but after a while the urge just die down. Now just enjoy what it already has.

But maybe if I get a WRX STI then it might be different story. laugh.gif XV really nothing much to mod.

Supercharge or Turbo kit for Xv... That will be the ultimate mod..  brows.gif

doesn't make sense to me to drive my kids to school with a big vroooom sound in a petite XV. blush.gif but with a WRX STI equipped with the extravaganza big spoiler then difference story. laugh.gif

if you watch those review on youtube, in general WRX STI is too powerful for daily use. it will be worst with daily traffic jam. my friend's wife test got motion sick test driving Peugeot 307 turbo just on regular roads.
your kids might not enjoy it.  rclxub.gif
*
haha... of course if sending the kids to school, there is no need to drive hard. But my kids do enjoy the ride up and down Cameron. Personally I feel a bit dizzy even though i am on the driver seat on the 1 hour drive thru winding road up and down Cameron. Can't imagine if I am on the passenger seat or back seat, sure vomit after just a few corners. puke.gif

Btw, is the WRX suspension hard? Read some review of Nissan GTR and some will mention the ride is too harsh, not recommended for daily drive especially for family. Not sure about WRX or WRX STI though.

wow..wow..wow.... so NICE!!!! din know the signature blue is so nice, it appears darker shade in these photos. Eyeing for the WRX and STI but a bit reluctant to switch back to sedan after driving the XV for almost 3 years.

For your info, that not the signature World Rally Blue. I wife doesn't like the signature blue. This is Lapis Blue. A bit darker then the signature blue.
*
Thanks for the info. No wonder it looks darker shade. Yes, i also dun like the signature blue. This darker blue is much much nicer. thumbsup.gif

At least I won't feel bad for spending hundred k to buy something not up to standard. Car of the year represent nothing when it can beat ur over rated car easily lol.

Each person have their own preference. I feel great zipping thru the hilly narrow path going up and down Cameron Highland Mossy forest closely behind some seriously modded 4WD that bringing tourists up the peak. The Civic will be struggling to pass thru those uneven roads. During heavy downpour, I won't be too bother with the partial flooded roads as the XV has quite a good ground clearance too.

You won't get the best of both offroad ruggedness and on-road comfort with XV. But most of us getting the XV can appreciate the balance in between offered by the XV. Most likely will stick to Subaru for the next upgrade but really hard to decide move up to the Forester or the WRX. hmm.gif

I hv a question to current xv owners.
What made u choose xv over other small suv like honda hrv, mazda cx5 etc

Im interested in xv also, but just want to know the dealbreaker over other competition

Tq
*
definitely the AWD and boxer engine. very personal preference but i do not really like Honda (except the latest incoming Tyre-R) and Mazda brand. Toyota is ok but too boring. I was also very skeptical before buying my first Subaru and research a lot and eventually check with a friend who has a turbo Forester (Singapore registered). I was told that it is built like a tank and the only minor maintenance problem is the turbo. Since the XV does not come with a turbo, the only complaint i heard is eliminated.

Subconsciously, Mitsubishi Evolution and Subaru WRX is always the childhood dream cars of generation of my age, so owning a piece of Subaru is like realising the childhood dream. Since Evo has been end of life at the moment, getting the WRX STI might be the only choice left the next step. biggrin.gif

Levorg!

Plus there's supposed to be a new model with 3 rows of seat coming up, to replace the Subaru exiga,I supposed.
*
Levorg and Exiga not my cup of coffee unfortunately. Will be aiming for more ruggedness or more sporty. Levorg and Exiga looks too boxy and not sleek. tongue.gif

For those in JB, just found out the Plentong Showroom and Service centre has relocated to old Nissan showroom opposite the Giant Plentong. Sending in my XV for 60k km for service today.

Bump into my dream. The blue is much darker than on photo....really really nice!!!! But the sunroof is missing, thought Msia is getting the premium specs with sunroof.

Sent my XV for 60k km service before CNY and i complain about rear tyre has humming noise. They checked and informed me that the rear left side bearing is spoilt and will claim warranty for me. Sent my car in for changing the bearing yesterday and they changed rear both side bearing for me. Now the humming noise is no more. thumbup.gif

Very good service by Subaru indeed.
How long did it take for service centre to claim warranty for the part?
Can't change it on the spot and they go and claim it later?
*
was told it will take about 3-4 weeks for the parts to arrive at JB SC. 5 weeks passed and still no call from them so call them up last Friday and been informed can go change already. JB dun have ready stock for exchange i think. KL HQ i am not sure.

Do you have the bill about the repair and parts? Just want to know what will it actually cost when no more warranty.
*
Since there is no charge for the parts, they did not issue a bill, i just signed on the service form.

Someone mentioned before regarding the rear bearing issue. Seems like it is common among XV!
*
yes, i think i remember someone mention it here that it is a common issue but din expect it happens on my XV too. Luckily still can claim warranty and best that they changed both sides although only 1 side has noise. Actually the moment i told them the rear side got noise, the service personnel straight away asked is it some "humming" noise and said it should be the bearing problem. So i think it is a common problem.

yes is common issues ~ fast do claim before 60k km service
*
now i am a bit worry - so after another 60k it will spoilt again? Subaru should improve on the quality of these bearing as 3 years 60k km is really too short. My previous few cars (including Proton Wira, my first car) do not need to change bearing during the time i own them (average 5-6 years).
