Bro.u must be crazy driving without on air condition. My reason for asking to install visor is to prevent the foggy window when its rainning n sometime even with heater on also wont works. The benefit of visor is when rainning still can wind down the window slightly but since u guys mentioned its create more noise so i better forget it.
*
i dont understand why would it fog when it rains, never encountered this before. the only time when it'll fog up for me is when i have my fan off, thus no ac nor heater.
i switch my heater on at times when i'm driving home from work at night. after a full day of aircond blasting in office, and if it rains outside, i can use some warm air instead of more aircond.

They are on the opposite side to the Japanese standard. The wiper is on the right and the lights are on the left. Apparently, the Germans do it this way too but all my other cars have been lights on the right (Proton, Honda and Ford) so I usually end up wiping my windscreen when I'm trying to signal left or right.

My 3rd gen Impreza which is made in Japan is using this layout. Just a matter of getting used to I guess.

what i noticed was the recent models are all equipped with big diameter but relatively skinny tires, probably to achieve maximum fuel economy. eg: some new japanese sedans comes with 205/55R17. the 205/55 profile used to be a common size for 16 inch. While 16 inchers are now 185/55R16.

interesting facts - all accidents i caught up in the past 5 years were due to my car being bang because the car in front reverse without looking behind.

need advise:-

my fozzie withstand the bang with jst minor dent and front bumper push in a little...frp, the outside everything seems ok with minor crack...dont think any maggat will want to spend time fix this coz its too minor. ...just wondering any thing else i should consider? i.e. send car to workshop to check on the inner part like clips?
*
check the impact beam in front, it may have dented but is not visible from outside.

One of the SA told me that MI has stopped producing the Forester and there will not be any 2018 Forester. They are just selling the 2017 Forester. This is mainly to prepare for the assembly of the 2019 Forester and it can even come out as early as end of 2018. Not sure how true is this.

*
can confirm this is pure BS... the new forester is not due until end of this year in US(which is not controlled by MI, US is SOA), and Asia (MI's stronghold) will probably be mid of next year, if they stop production now, then what are they gonna sell?
forester is the best selling subaru model in SG.

Haha.. I believe it will be somewhere next year also. But the stop production statement could be true simply because at the end of 2017 they were still selling 2016 models, I think there are a lot of 2017 units to be cleared. Forester here is CKD at TCMA Segambut so not related to the CBU units for SG market. Just need to check for 2018 made Forester to confirm.

*
if they're overstocked by so much until they can sell for 1.5 years without manufacturing any new units, then that is some pretty fcuked up production planning.
i'd still call it BS, dont make any sense at all for them to operate like this. Consumers are not stupid, nobody wants to buy old stock unless its heavily discounted, and in the end they would just be screwing themselves if what the salesman claim is true...

I did not know it has heater function. Unless imported CBU car. Never need to use heater function even going to Cameron Highland. Just adjust body temp like reptile  laugh.gif
*
Subaru should have heater as standard across all market, because the "heater" is actually powered by your radiator.

Yes, but not all car has that even though all car has radiator. The car marketed for this region normally does not have this function. I used to own CBU car for Europe market with this function.
*
That's why I said Subaru, and not any other brand, because I know they designed it that way.

Many new HU have this already I believe but if I have to swap, I'd stay with Kenwood for compatibility with the buttons on steering. Kenwood also have the unit with Android
*
No doubt Kenwood HU will likely be plug and play without needing to cut any wires, but a skilled install person will be able to make the buttons work, either thru rewiring or using those SWC interfacing kit.
with that, you should be able to freely choose whatever HU brand u like.

The latest Kenwood HU does looks very interesing, especially the ones with 1280x720 capacitive touch panel.

Hello friends, just went for my 10k service for my Forester 2016 iP at SC. I indulged a little on how the steering wheel and brake pedal rattles slightly when I attempt speeds of over 120kmph and was then told to have it aligned + balanced outside their SC (reason being they do not have the equipment and the facility).

*
before going too far, did the rattle happens when u drive over 120kmh (without braking) or when u try to brake from 120kmh?

Hello kevin613!

Answering your question, it used to be only when I applied brakes when I hit 130kmph, but right now even driving at 120kmph without hitting the brakes the rattling ensues. Rather disappointing since it indeed is a very fun car to drive. Just adding that I drive along the highways in Iskandar and sometimes have it at 156kmph, back then two months ago I didn't notice anything and only noticed its threshold decrease a month back.
*
i'd suggest a second opinion from a different shop, but first get the wheels balanced, and aligned first to see if its fixed.

This is an update on my issue;

I went to another car workshop today for my appointment, but he had doubts the problem was what I described when he looked at the discs since they did not show any change that might warrant a skim/replacement. Instead he recommended only to have it aligned and balanced before suggesting any change to the brake discs/pads. Following his suggestion, we then took it out for a spin along the highway.

Even at 140~150 speeds the problem did not come back. I'm starting to think the first outside workshop was trying to squeeze some cash out of me when I asked for an alignment + balancing sweat.gif. Anyway giving the man his dues and taking it out for another spin myself on the long and empty highways I can conclude that the problem has indeed disappeared! Thank you for the advice you've provided on my issue  thumbup.gif
*
the first ws not only trying to squeeze cash out of u, the disc skimming will do more harm than good.
glad that its fixed...

i am currently considering to get an XV. currently using myvi, so i'm gonna pass this car to my wife instead.

is the previous version worth it to buy? or is it better to just spend more money and buy the 2018 version?

the 2nd hand price is very tempting indeed.
*
2018 version if budget allows..
it's a whole new generation, not just a facelift.
