Probably someone here can find cheaper option since Subaru is quite common in Singapore. Try call independent sc like

http://www.awdtechnika.com.my/
*
i pickup a pair of almost new Forester XT front brakes (caliper + rotor) for just $250, which not only solves my caliper pin issue, but also brakes upgrade as FXT front discs are 316mm compared to my stock 276mm. XV front should be 296mm if i remember correctly.
subaru brakes are interchangeable for most models except STi and latest WRX which uses 5x114.3 PCD. just need to make sure your rims have sufficient clearance.

Hi guys,

Yesterday my wife's ring accidentally fell thru the crack/gap between passenger seat and handbrake. Suspect fell under seat but tried searching etc cannot find it. Also sent car to wash and did not manage to find.

Do you think I can send to Subaru and get them remove passenger chair and check?

So bad luck!

alamak, so now u married to the car... tongue.gif

Guys, it seems AE or AWDtechnika is no more doing repairs on Subaru , the chief mechanic for Subie has move out and open his own , just a stone throw away called
SBR Technic s/b

Only came to know last week when I brought my Subie there .
*
just checked on my FB, seems like the SBR tech took over the old AE FB page and renamed it as well.
So... AWDTechnika is not AE... SBR tech is..

What FXT has over F 2.0iP?
Turbo, sun roof, stiffer suspension and 18" rim. There could be other additional features. So, power is not the only difference. FXT has less body roll and handle corners better but has harsher ride.

What is the closest rival to FXT? Mazda CX-5 2.2D AWD. Both have powerful turbo and AWD.

Better test drive thoroughly those cars that you are interested at. Ask sales man everything that you want to know. Then decide and may you find the right car for you.
*
better brakes too(bigger disc in the front), and also XT is CBU from Japan, not assembled in malaysia.

Thanks all for the feedback. But I wonder since this is going to be the last XT produced, will it makes it harder to get spare part in case of any breakdown and also considering this product is CBU.
*
its the same engine that VA WRX is using, and i doubt they will retire the engine anytime soon.
worst case if no more warranty, come find parts in SG, more than half of Forester sold in SG are XT. biggrin.gif

I see...ok thanks! Something like reinforcement?

*
it anchors the door to the chassis, so the rear door can take bigger side impact without sinking into the passenger compartment.

I think it is not dangerous. The problem is when your speed shows 110km/h, you are traveling faster than that. More chance for speeding ticket  laugh.gif , right?
*
your stock speedo is actually slightly below the actual speed, as in when it shows 90, you're actually travelling at 80+, so if you upsize a little, you're actually "correcting" your speedo..
i upsize mine by an inch (205/55R16 to 225/50R17) and my speedo is still slightly below actual (measured using GPS speedo).

The reason is actually not because it was calibrated that way. It was just it is set mathematically correct to the tire radius. However, in actual condition, the car weight has reduce the tire radius and the radius becomes slightly smaller. This caused the error. I think with recommended tire pressure, your actual speed is around 5km/h less than the displayed speed.
*
it wont be static 5kmh less... the faster you go, the bigger the number will be. when you're at highway speed, the number will be double digit.

other than JPJ cert, there should also be a plate somewhere on your car that shows the chassis no, and engine no.
something like:
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

mine is located on the bottom of B-pillar, facing outside.

Question guys, is it really necessary to wait for the cold indicator to switch off before driving the car?

I read somewhere on Topgear that the best qay to warm up the car is to drive it. Maybe what they mean is to not necessarily let it sit idle for a long time just for the sake of warming up?

What’s your thoughts on this?
*
not necessary, just dont rev hard before its warm up.
the light will go off once coolant temp reaches 50c, which typically takes less than a min.

for those that are still waiting for Ascent, be prepared to wait much longer..

https://www.caradvice.com.au/662362/subaru-...isnt-happening/

there's not enough demand for them to justify producing a RHD version of Ascent yet... if JP/AUS is not getting it, we wont be seeing it here...

Dear sifus, is it possible to change the kenwood radio/media device in the Subaru XV? My car is 4 years old now, no more warranty, so thought it would be great if i could somehow get a much better head unit, one with android auto if possible. The stock kenwood one is rather annoying.
*
sure can...

You are so wrong bro... Those performance car range from Subaru like WRX STI, Forester XT/STI, Legacy Turbo are theft magnet..
If normal range like N/A CKD Xv or Forester, that will be less..
*
most of the time stolen only for the modified parts to be stripped, with the chassis left there to rot...
like one of the post shown few pages back

not sure if new forester uses the 2DIN or still uses the wider format like on toyota.
if wider than standard 2DIN then it's gonna leave a huge gap on the sides.

I didn't know has wide format  shocking.gif

i upgraded my 09 impreza's CD player to Pioneer Z9150BT, and the dash comes in the wider-than-2DIN format, so need bracket to install the new player, and have 2 big gaps at the side.
same year JDM Impreza/Forester model comes with the standard 2DIN, so i have option of buying the JDM dash cover.

Kenwood model ending with WS are the wide format ones.
check and see if new forester is still using the wide format or already switch back to standard 2DIN.
this model will not fit standard 2DIN.

Ya, good point. I'm leaning towards the Kenwood as well smile.gif

and i think the 5150 is resistive touch, while kenwood is capacitive.
resistive is like those ancient PDA where the screen sinks in when you touch, and need to poke hard, while capacitive is just like modern phone touch screen.
